ITunes can only 'see' a small fraction of my music (recently played)

I opened iTunes today and it only sees about a dozen songs (i think they're the most recently played). The music is still on my computer (new iMac/current iTunes version) but it doesn't 'see' it. This is not the common 'explanation point' issue.
Any thoughts? Related to the big 'bug' at Apple today?

The interface is so big, that I can only see a small section of the screen.

I inadvertently checked a preference in the 'experimental' I think, that has caused the interface on my 17'' Dell CRT to be so big that I can't navigate around to change the preferences again. Well, if you can't see enough of the interface to reconfigure it, you *could* reset all preferences to defaults...
Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt simultaneously immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be really quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your current preferences, which will lead to the establishment of a fresh default set. If it does not prompt you, you haven't been quick enough to get the keys down.

Does not install right. can only see a small part of screen

When I go to open Firefox it does not open correctly. The screen does not come up. It show the desktop with like a clear film on it and fuzzy. Some on the left side of the screen and nothing anywhere else. You can not see enough to do anything. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and that does not help. I go to the help on Internet Explorer and find the help for Mozilla support. It tell me to open Firefox and go to this and that, but I can even get to that part. I need your help in getting this straighten out.

can you try the troubleshooting steps described at [[Firefox opens with a transparent or blank window]]. if this resolves the issue, it would also be interesting which extension caused the issue in your case. thank you!
it might also be an issue with hardware acceleration. please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]], or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in ''firefox > options > advanced > general''.

I can only see a small section of the text in the url bar, the rest is cut off.

Recently my url bar only displays the first handful of letters in my url. If I use the arrow keys I can see all the text is there, and hitting enter brings up the right page, so it's not cutting off the text, just the display. Approximately the first 15% of the url bar shows text, while the leftover bar is just grey. I'm currently on 16.0.2.

The problem is the same as the one in cor-el's linked question. However, I've found that re-enabling the Authen-tec add-on and restarting firefox solves the problem. It's just when I have it disabled that the address bar does the weird truncation.

In order to create space on my MBA I just bumped iTunes media to G drive linked through Time Capsule. Now pointed iTunes at new iTunes libary on G drive and, even though all music files are there, iTunes can only 'see' 10 albums. Any help appreciated.

Mac Book Air has been struggling for space for a while so I bough at time capsule a) for back up and b) to host my itunes folder remotely. This didnt' work. I took it into the Genius bar and the genius there told me that time capsule is not designed for anything other than back up. Instead I have to connect a G drive through the time capsule's wireless router to my MBA.
I followed his instructions - moved my files from the Time Capsule and MBA directly onto the G Drive - which took a heartening 2 hrs so something must have been happening - and the held down 'Alt' when starting iTunes and selected the new itunes folder as the location of my itunes libarary which I wanted iTunes to 'point at'. When I opened iTunes only 10 albums are visible now.
In ITunes advanced preferences it says it is pointing at the correct folder. The files are all cleary there when I open the G Drive folder to take a look. But I cannot get iTunes to find them.
Any suggestions?
Secondary challenge - in spite of deleting the original itunes folder on my MBA I still get messages pop up telling me my start up disk is out of space and I need to clear some - I expected to stop getting this message now I had done this exercise above. I have emptied Trash. Again - any pointers appreciated. I am new to this world of 'intuitive' macbooks.

After admittedly only a quick read the one thing you don't say is how you are trying to make this move. Most people with moving library issues do it the wrong way. Plenty of web sites tell you how to do it the wrong way.
If the iTunes application is started before the drive with the library is fully mounted and awake iTunes will revert back to the internal drive.

Bought music album but can only see a small part of it in my playlists

On 30th November 2011 I paid for a music album of two violin concertii one by Max Bruch and the other By Brahms. However, I have only received one movement of the Bruch concerto. If I visit my purchases the album shows OK but there is only that one movement track. How can I get the entire album that I most certainly paid for?
I have tried to find a contact means to ask Apple about this failed delivery and I am very surprised and siappointed to learn just how difficult it is to contact Apple without paying for the privilege!

Movies are very heavy files. around 1.5 to 2GB depending on the type of movie and more if its in HD. If your internet connection is not fast enough they can take a lot of time to download.
Rentals have a 30 day life span as long as you haven't started wathcing them. Once you start to watch them you have 24 hours to finish before the Rental expires.
If your Intenret connection is not fast enough to download the movie while you watch, then don't start watching it and simply let it download. Once it completes you can watch it start to finish.
Now that is not in ny way a propblme with Apple or its devices, but your internet connection. If tis supposed ot be fatser talk to your ISP. If its that slow becuase you don't have the more expensive package with a faster connection then talk to your wallet about it.
Threats will do nothing.

Why can't I see ALL my music that's on my iphone in itunes? I can only see things I recently added.

I have hundreds of songs in my phone but I can only see a small fraction of what's on my phone when it's plugged into my computer and I'm looking in itunes. It looks like all it's showing are things that I added recently.
How do I fix this?

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Where are you looking that you aren’t seeing your music? When you have your device plugged in and selected in iTunes, a sidebar shows up. In this sidebar, “On My Device” includes all of the content types that are currently synced to your device. If you click on Music, do you see the expected amount of content?

Itunes can't see remote speakers on extended network

i have a peculiar issue that hopefully someone else has come up against: my itunes does not see any remote speakers that are attached to the network via a network extender.
my setup has 3 remote speakers: one immediately next to a d-link router and two that connect via a d-link range extender - all of the speakers are wirelessly connected to their respective devices. when my laptop is near the router (and therefore connecting to that device) itunes can only see the one speaker that is near the router but not the other two. when my laptop is next to the range extender (and therefore connecting via the extender) itunes can only see the two speakers that are connecting through the extender, but not the one connecting via the router.
weird, eh? any thoughts as to how to see all three speakers at once on my itunes?

Same thing happened here on a G5 after i had troubles installing the latest quicktime upgrade vover the last weekend. I have however got this powerbook with leopard and itunes and it works exactly as it could. I have two airport expresses on two hifi's the main one which provides wifi is missing i can get the slave one that bridges the network as wel las serving music to show if i restart it .. but it seems to wither and die from the itunes window without warning
It must be a machine specific thing however, as i have created new logins on the faulty machine and none of them can give me sessions with itunes where remote speakers are restored so the problem must lie closer to root than with user settings.
I am hoping its a stinking flaw with quicktime or itunes as i do not fancy having to restore leopard again after all the nonsense of the first one. I wasted enough time then and i'd like a peaceful christmas listening to my music on my hifi.. the current situation is as perverse as drm

Itunes can't see my iphone

Itunes can not see my iphone under the devices. Recently used Windows Parallel on my Mac but made sure to de-select the USB in the parallels application and clicked associate this device with Mac OS and not the windows os. I have tried un-installing iTunes, reinstalled with most recent edition. Recycled the iphone on / off. Removed the iphone from the docking cradle to direct connection with iphone to usb and no hubs, cradles etc.... in between iphone and computer without any success. I know the mac and itunes are working correctly because it syncs my ipad, wife's iphone 3gs and kids ipod touch without any trouble. I looked in the hardware listing in the system preferences and the usb lists my iphone as attached. With the iphone 4 plugged in I rebooted my mac hoping it would auto open itunes and auto sync but no luck.

When the iPhone unmounts from iTunes during the backup phase, it can be due to some unreadable data on the iPhone that iTunes cannot deal with. It could be data saved by a third party APP on the iPhone, but there's no easy way to determine the what data may be causing the issue.
First try resetting the iPhone by holding down the sleep/power button and home button until you see the Apple logo (ignore the "Slide to Power Off" prompt).
Connect to iTunes and Sync to test.
Next would be to determine whether the issue is actually with the iPhone or the MacBook Air.
You mentioned that you also use an iMac.
If the iMac is running at least 10.4.11 and has a current installation of iTunes 8.0.2 on it, you can use the iMac to isolate the source of the issue.
If you have essentially the same information on both computers, you can do this test in the existing user on the iMac.
If you'd prefer not to intermingle any data from the iPhone you can create a new User on the iMac and test:

Before connecting the iPhone to the iMac, put a check in the "Disable Automatic Syncing for iPods and iPhones" in the Devices section of iTunes Preferences.
Connect the iPhone and then right-click or control-click on the iPhone under Devices and choose "Backup."
If the iPhone cannot be backed up on the second computer, then it is due to some unusable data on the iPhone that cannot be backed up.
After the test, you can delete the new User if you created one.
If that is the case, then you may need to restore the iPhone and choose the option to restore from a previous backup at the end of the restore process:

I would do this on the computer that you normally sync the iPhone with.

Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? Adding media directly to the media folder does not make it appear in the library. iTunes doesn't really 'look' at that folder except to go to specific files when you call upon them from a library. You have to drag new content to each user's library, that is assuming each user has their own library.

I've seen the opposite issue. My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments. She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app. I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up. I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah. Seems like some bugs. Hope Apple fixes them soon.

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
