iTunes Can't Be Installed Nor The Components Can't Be Uninstalled
I was trying to update my iTunes to the latest when I accidentally plugged off the computer. I switched on the computer back to check the iTunes, it says to re-install the iTunes whenever I click it, so I tried re-installing it (Both iTunes and Quicktime), but I'm having a hard time, it says (click the screenshot I made) all the time:

Whenever I click retry, it doesn't do anything, so I had no choice but to cancel it.

This suddenly appears when I click cancel.

Was interrupted.
I saw alot of cases like this and had a successful ending, I tried what everyone is saying, but neither of it didn't work.
I tried repairing the Apple Mobile Device Support, here's what it says:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/62071999@N07/8367188344/in/photostream
I uninstall it using the control panel but didn't work, instead I use the Ccleaner to fix the registry (I can't really see any files that are related to apple) and to uninstall it and it did was removed from the list but the files are still there.
I read in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 that all programs should be uninstalled.
1. iTunes
2. QuickTime
3. Apple Software Update (Successfully Uninstalled)
4. Apple Mobile Device Support (Successfully Uninstalled but the files can't be removed)
5. Bonjour (Successfully Uninstalled but the files can't be removed)
6. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
I already did uninstall listed above, but I still see their folders on my computer/program files. Whenever I try to delete it. it says:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/62071999@N07/8366121503/in/photostream
Bonjour (I opened all task manager's tab, never did saw any sign of these files, like it's plugin and so on)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/62071999@N07/8366121411/in/photostream
Apple Application Support (Which only contains Appleversions.dll)
Please help! I don't even know what to do unless I'll reformat my computer but I don't want to do that, I tried lots of things for my iTunes to work, none of them seemed to help me. I can't use my iPhone / iPad / iPod with musics and videos, it's just so boring without entertainment.
(Step-By-Step)
Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem this weekend.  The iphone 4s needed Itunes10.5 to sync to her Asus Windows 7 Laptop.  When I tried to download from the Apple website I got the error that the windows installer was missings files or something like that.  I uninstalled itunes and tried again but that didn't work.  Then I redownloaded itunes 10.3 just to have a working version in case I gave up.  Then I found site that suggested I update Windows by going through the start menu and while doing that I found an update Apple itunes file.
Goto Start and type Widows Update in the seach window.  Click on check for updates (I already was current with all updates but I suggest you download the updates if there are some available.
Goto start and this time just type update in the search window.  Look for the Apple itunes update link and click on it.  It found there were updates for itunes 10.5, Quick time, Safari, and Icloud.  I checked all the updates except for Safari, since we don't use it (yet).
The install started then seemed to stall at one spot for ~3min but then completed successfully.  I open itunes and had her synced with Outlook Contact, Email, Calender, and Notes in 5 minutes.  I did already configure Outlook by going to tools and Trust Center.
I hope this works.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • OS X and Windows on MacBook Pro. Can I clean install only the OS X?

I have both OS X and Windows on my MacBook Pro. The OS X has been ridiculously slow and freezes up most of the time, especially when I use Office. The Windows partition has been working perfectly. Can I clean install just the OS X part of my computer? How would I go about doing that? I want to leave the Windows partition alone.
    Thanks!!

    Hopefully this will work:
Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.

  • TS1600 OS X could not be installed on your computer. OSX can't be installed on the disk Macintosh HD because a recovery system can't be created.

I just bought the new OS X 10.8 and downloaded but when I tried to install it on my computer Installation Failed and I got this message:
"OS X can't be installed on the disk Macintosh HD , because a recovery system can't be created."
I tried so many times but the same message comes out to me each time and when I restart the computer I am back to the same OS X installer and can't access my computer any more so I am really stuck I can't install the new OS X version and can't go back to the old OS X version or access my computer.
    Please help
My computer is MacBook Pro 13"

OK. You have a Boot Camp partition which is why the issue. See the following:
It seems the issue is that the space at the "bottom" of your available space when Lion installs it's partition is already occupied by BootCamp. The fix was to go into Disk Utility; Select your Hard Drive; Select Partition; Move the bottom of your main partition "up" a bit to create a space for Lion; close Disk Utility; Install Lion; once Lion is successfully installed, go back into Disk Partition and drag the bottom of your main partition back "down" to the bottom of the window.
In your case use Disk Utility to "shrink" your OS X partition a little more than 1 GB.
To resize the drive do the following:
    1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the main menu appears select Disk Utility and click on the Continue button. Select the hard drive's main entry then click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    2. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
    3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired empty space. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Remember that you only need to shrink the OS X partition a little more than 1 GB. Now, when you try the Mountain Lion installation the installer will be able to make the Recovery HD.

  • XCode can't be installed because the version of OS X is "too new"

I have Mountain Lion installed on both my iMac and my MacBook, and I'm trying to install XCode from the App Store. It installed on the MacBook without an issue, but when I try to install it on the iMac, I get an error that says "XCode can't be installed because the version of OS X is too new". Is there anything I can do about this? I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.0.
    Thanks in advance

  • Everytime I try to export my slideshow I get the "The operation can't be completed because the item can't be found." message. How do I fix?

Trying to export a pretty basic slideshow to our desktop/iTunes and I keep getting the "The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found." message when I try to export. What am I doing wrong?

    What is your iPhoto version?
Your slideshow may contain a photo or a video where the original file cannot be found. Try to find the offending item.
You could duplicate the slideshow (select it in the source list, ctrl-click, and the select "Duplicate").
Then remove half of the photos from the copy and try to export this partial slideshow. if it works, you will know, the problematic photo or video is in the other half.
Keep duplicating the slideshow, removing photos from the copy and testing with smaller sets of photos, until you know exactly, which photo it is.
Then select this photo and use the command "File > Reveal Original" to see, if the original file is still there.
Check the revealed original, if Preview can display it. If the file is o.k., copy it and remport it. Add the new imported photo or video to your slideshow.
If the original file should really be missing, restore it from your backup.

  • Help: install failure-Lion "can't be installed because recovery system can't be created.

After selecting c:/ drive for install (GUID, Journaled, Snow Leopard 10.6.8), the install procedure runs about 2 minutes then halts with message, Lion "can't be installed because the recovery system can't be created." What is a probable cause, and what is a solution? Anyone know? Is tehre a FAQ on this? Can't find one.

    I had similar issues.
The following article pointed me in a better direction:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20081398-263/os-x-10.7-cannot-be-installed-on-certain-drives/
I tried to go the partition route, but for some reason the operation failed.
I decided to attempt a Lion install again afterwards anyway, but once again it failed, but now my whole system was hosed and could not revert back to Snow Leopard.
I did a restore from time machine. Once that completed, I attempted to install Lion again, and ta da! it works now.
    What a pain.
