ITunes can't connect to iTunes from PC Windows 7

I haven't been active on iTunes for at least a year.  In the mean time it has continued to update.  I purchased a new iPod shuffle this past week. Finally opened iTunes to get my new Shuffle registered and load some music.  Tried to register and got what seems like no connection to Apple.  Low and behold iTunes can not connect to the iTunes store, nor anything else from Apple. iTunes program appears to be working fine other than no connection to Apple.com, and I have performed a sync to my new Shuffle w/o problems.  I simply get the "accessing iTunes store..." displaying forever.
I have Windows 7, 64bit operating system. Trend Micro Intert Security/antiviral software.  I have tried disabling both my Windows firewall and my Trend Micro; however, iTunes still can make no connection.  Any ideas?
Thanks!

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • ITunes can't connect to iTunes store " No network Connection?? "

So how do i connect? there is nothing in the preference to change my connection. I used to have DSL connection but know i'm using a cable modem, so can't understand why iTunes can't connect to the iTunes store??? anybody know what to do?? Thanx
    Ob1

I had a strange variant of this issue and finally banged through to a solution.  I have an old Vista PC that I use as a music server, running ITunes 10.3.1.55. I turned off HOME SHARE to try and fix a different issue with REMOTE a few weeks ago, then could not get it re-established after, due to failed connection to the iTunes Store.
I didn't notice nor care til I realized that turning off HOME SHARE had gotten rid of the IMPORT button when I was browsing to another library, which I use frequently to pull new music from my laptop to the server.  It is documented elsewhere that the IMPORT button comes back if you re-establish HOME SHARE.  So I tried to do that and ran into the problem with connection to the ITunes Store/mothership.
I tried many suggestions, re-installed, etc w/o success.  Then I did below from one of the Apple docs, specifically checking off TLS.  Bingo!  I had never had it checked before, and SSL was already checked, and all my other secure connections were/are fine, but for some reason this did it.  I was able to get to the iTunes Store, re-establish my HOME SHARE and my IMPORT came back.  Interestingly, the network diagnostic under HELP still fails the SECURE LINK test, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Another weird one solved, thanks for the leads and help here.
Further troubleshooting steps (for Windows only)
    Correctly configure Internet Options
    Open Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    Select the Advanced tab.
Under the Security section, look for Use SSL 3.0 and Use TLS 1.0. Make sure at least one of those two checkboxes is selected and click OK. (You can select both checkboxes).

  • ITunes can not connect to the store in Windows 8.1

Since i have upgraded to windows 8.1 itnues on acer keeps giving the message that it can not connect to itune store...it is not reading my ipod touch 4th gen or my ipad 3

    Hey zoyashahab,
Ok, so it sounds like there are two issues here we want to address, the first being the iTunes Store connection issue and the second being iTunes not recognizing your iOS devices.
First, I'd start with troubleshooting the recognition by following the steps in here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If after getting that running again, you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, then I'd go through the troubleshooting steps in here:

  • ITunes Can't Connect To iTunes Store

Ok so, I have a Windows 7. Whenever I try to connect to the iTunes store from my computer or trying to download almum artwork, etc. I get this message after trying to load for about fifteen seconds: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error has occurred (0x80090318) Make sure your network connection is active and try again." The thing is, I know I have a good network connection and the latest version of iTunes. I don't ever recall being able to connect to the internet with iTunes. It kinda hinders my full use of iTunes. Also, this may or may not have relation, but I used to be able to back up my iPod Touch to my computer (same computer), then it started laging so i looked it up and what i found suggested that I restart both my computer and my iPod. It worked for awhile but now it doesn't no matter what i do. That was a fourth generation and now I have a fifth generation and it does the same thing. Thanks in advance.

I consistantly get an error message when logged into my user profile on my dads computer. He gave me administrative rights and still the same problem. We can log on to Itunes music store through his profile with no issues.
    The error message reads;
Itunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network
    connection was refused.
Make sure your network settings are correct AND your network
connection is active, then try again.

  • Itunes: can't connect to itunes server

I have read numerous posts about this topic, and have tried various solutions which have worked for other people but none of the solutions have worked for me.  I have a macbook pro, and have updated my software, updated itunes to the latest version, and have a good internet connection.  I have checked my date and time.  It was initially set to automatic, and the time and date were correct with that setting.  As per other suggestions in other posts, I switched off the automatic date&time to see if it changed anything....no success.  This has been going on for months.  Anytime I want to download something from itunes I have to do it on another device (iphone, ipad)  Please help!

  • ITunes can't connect with iTunes Store & Computer doesn't recognize iPod

When I put my iPod in the USB-port, it is recognized by my desktop for a short time as "Lucas's iPod", then, after like 20 seconds it turns to removable drive en than it just dissappears out of My Computer, so iTunes says it can't sync it because it can't find the drive (= the iPod). I searched for solutions, tried the 5 R's several times, nothing works and I'm desparate. I tried to Authorize my Computer in the Store menu in iTunes, by clicking Store > Authorize Computer > Fill in Apple ID and password. I did that, but when I clicked Give Authorization, it says (In Dutch, I tried to translate it as well as I can): iTunes cannot connect with the iTunes Store. The networkconnection has been refused. Check if the networksettings are right and if the networkconnection is active. Then, try again.
I don't know what is meant with my "wrong networkconnection". My internet works beautifully, I can use everything, but only iTunes won't work. Why is the networkconnection being refused? I'm getting crazy because I have my Ipod for almost 2 months and I didn't take it out of my house or even use it one time! Please, please, please help me!

honestly on a Windows I do not know how, there are programs that you can download that will tell you, and there are unix scripts that can tell you. to find out how, you might want to talk to somebody who owns a windows and is proficient in using it.

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

    Hi ..
Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
Make sure your Mac OS X software is up to date.
Disconnect the iPad from your Mac.
Open System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now
If any updates are required, make sure to restart your Mac after the updates are installed then connect your iPad and see if iTunes recognizes it under Devices.

  • I can't connect to itunes from my ipad. Please help!!!

I can't connect to itunes from ipad! Please help.

See if any if these suggestions get you connected again.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again. You may have to experiment with the date a little bit... A year ahead, a few months ahead ....
Or ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or ....If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
