    My iTunes can´t identify my iPod, i uninstalled and installed iTunes like seven times, I also installed and older version, I had been reading all the comments on the support center and I can´t connect it to itunes, my computer does read it, but iTunes does not, and it only appears a pop up from iTunes that says "This iPod can not be used, because you haven´t installed the software. Run uTunes installer to uninstall iTunes, and then; install a 64 bit version of iTunes" I already did what that pop up told me like 10 times, and I can not read it, please help me. (Windows 8 64bit version) THANKS

  • ITunes can't read my iPod Video 5th Generation

    Hey guys,
    So my iPod was messed up for a while back, but I managed to reset/restore it so it's basically at a clean slate. Now when I plug it into my computer, it shows the normal "Do not disconnect." screen and it even shows up on My Computer.
    The problem is: iTunes can't read it. It shows nothing on the side panel of iTunes. I tried doing all the device manager things and everything seems to be good. I have an iPod Nano 3rd Generation and it works perfectly well on my iTunes when I plug it in.
    Any suggestions on how to get my iTunes to read my iPod Video 5th generation?

    Watcha,
    I haven't had any of these problems yet, but getting ready to download the newer version of Itunes. I have a HP Pavilion PC-based laptop with Windows 7, and also an IPOD Video 5th Gen. So I really hope I won't get any problems. Sorry I didn't have any solutions and hope your problems were solved.

  • Itunes can't read my ipod because it's locked.

    my ipod must be restored each time the battery runs out. Now it has a lock code and itunes can't read it. I have to enter the code in the ipod but it doesn't work. What I should do?

    Connect the device to your iTunes library in recovery mode using the instructions in the Apple support document below and restore it to factory settings.

  • Itunes can't regonize my iPod touch

    * MacBook1,1
    * iTunes 8.1.1
    * osx 10.5.6
    * iphone os 2.2.1
    Now Nothing appears in itunes, and no sound like it was before when I plugin.
    And When I plug in my itouch, the device appears in USB Prober as "High Speed device @ 3(0xFD300000) .... Composite device: iPod".
    And It works well with windows system with same macbook and same iTunes version.
    And It worked well 2 days ago. Before it not works, I did something like:
    1) use iPhone Configuration Utility to view the profiles.
    2) unplug the iPod touch without clicking the "quit my ipod" in iTunes (sorry, I am using a non-English system, so the words may not be exactly as "quit").
    What I have tried:
    1) restart system
    2) reinstall itunes
    3) restore the ipod touch
    4) setup a new user
    5) remove other usb devices
    Maybe I need to try to reinstall the osx, but I can't since I have only one machine so that can't do the backup.
    As I said before, the ipod device appears in the USB Prober, and I think the device was regonized by the system but seems like something was checking after then and the checking failed.
    hm.. any suggestion?

    Don't know why, it can be charged now. but still can't appear in iTunes. I have tried to resintall itunes again with this instruction: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747?viewlocale=en_US
    Maybe the reason of that it was not charged and have no sound when plugin is the itouch was full of energy when I plugined before.

  • Itunes won't read my ipod touch 4th Generation

    Sometimes, when I plug my ipod touch into the computer, itunes doesn't see it.  It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's fustrating.  If anyone out there knows how to fix this problem, I would love to hear their advice.

    Here is the general Apple article:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    However, based on your symptoms you may have a poor connection somewhere. Have you tried a different cable, different USB ports.
    Also, look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.

  • ITunes can't "read" my ipod nano

    So, I got an ipod nano for Christmas. I've already got a bunch of songs in my library because I used to have a different ipod. But eveytime I try to plug in my nano, a little bubble pops up and says, "iTunes cannot read ipod 'J:/'." and then it tells me to restore the ipod to its facorty settings.
    Well, I've now restored it to it's factory settings a grand total of 7 times, and no luck. The same messages just keeps popping up.
    Someone help!!!

    Me too. Except I can't even restore mine because it says i'm not connected to the internet when I am.

  • ITUNES CAN'T READ MY IPOD BLACK VIDEO 30G! WHY?

    My computer was running slow and I had itunes and photoshop open. And then next thing I know, my itunes stopped responding and then my photoshop cs2 was responding. So I tried to eject my ipod, and then restart my computer. It wouldn't do it for ages. So I gave up, and turned my mac off, and then then when I loaded it back up, it said.... ITUNES CANNOT READ THE CONTENTS OF THE IPOD. and I've got all my music on it and video and it's all wiped. Which all my music and video's are on my home IMAC, which is back in the UK. I am in South africa for another 3 months meaning no music and no videos. Is there any way of retrieving my music back- please?
    There is another query. When I plug my ipod in, it still recognises the name of the ipod. And when itunes loads up, it says the message above. But if I don't click that and actually click on the iPod icon on my desktop, I have a 'faded out' folder called- iPOD CONTROL. which if I follow it brings me to a list of audio files which is my music but random file names like WENM.wav etc. So I know the music is on there. Is there anyway of restoring my iPod with out formatting it? There must!! Please help.

    It was worth a shot... anyway, since you can see the music on the iPod via Finder, you might want to consider moving that music from the iPod to your hard drive, listen to the file to determine the name of it, put it into iTunes, restore the iPod and then sync the iPod. You can also seek third party software that might be able to recover the files from the iPod, but given the issue you're having, that might not be an option.
    Check out this post from Zevoneer for some iPod recovery options.

  • My iTunes can't read my iPod!!

    Hi, I own an old iPod. I don't know exatly what's the model, but it's a 2005 nano. I have always synced it with my itunes without any trouble. Today I updated my itunes (last update)and when I connected my iPod it gave my this message: "use itunes to restore". But I can't even find it in itunes, it won't read it. Does this have anything to do with the itunes' update? so, I won't be able to sync my iPod with futures itunes?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hey, I'm having a similar problem - did you find anything out?? Thanks!

  • ITunes wont cannot read my ipod touch 5th generation??

    When i plug in my ipod 5th generation a message pops up on iTunes that says:
    "itunes cannot read the contents of the ipod 'Danielle's iPod". Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings."
    I've only had my ipod for about a week and I'd really like to not have to reset it out of fear of it not working properly again, but i need to be able to sync it. So is there another option i could try first? Like i've sycned my ipod a few times before but all of a sudden it cant read it. Does this have to do with iTunes or my iPod? HALP.

    Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)
    These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
    Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
    Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
    There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
    Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
    Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

    Powering Apple and third party peripherals through USB
    The USB must be 2.0.
    If you want the iPod to sync automatically, go to iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
    Deselect:  Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically then click OK.

  • Upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5 and now iTunes can't read my iPod classic

    It says I need to restore original settings (which I would really prefer not to do!).  My iPhone 4s is still able to be read.  I am running osx 10.9.2 Any suggestions? Thank you

    I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
    It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.
