  • Can't synch Photos to Ipod Touch or Apple TV?

Recently, when when doing a synch of my ipod touch or apple tv I get an error message that reads: "The iPod...cannot be synched. The disk could not be read from or written to."
I have no idea why this has suddenly started happening. Can anyone help?

Have you tried the suggestion here:

    Hello Bridgie\'s girl
Try out the 5r’s section to resolve issues with your iPod nano not syncing. A simple restart my fix it or you may need to restore it all together.

  • How can I keep photos on iPod Touch from looking like color negatives?

How can I keep photos on iPod Touch from looking like color negatives?

You don't have to keep your photos in iPhoto to sync to your iPod according to Apple's website which states you can sync from folders in other locations:
    "Syncing Photos from a Mac
To sync photos from iPhoto or a folder on your Mac:
    1. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes.
    2. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.
    3. In the main iTunes browser window, select the Photos tab.
    4. Select the checkbox labeled "Sync photos from" and then choose either iPhoto, Aperture, Choose Folder, or Pictures, from the menu.
    * If you choose iPhoto, select "All photos and albums" to copy all of your photos in iPhoto, or "Selected albums only" and select individual rolls or albums you want to include.
    * If you choose Choose Folder, navigate to and select the folder of photos you want, then click Choose. Select "All photos" to copy all photos in the folder, or choose "Selected folders" to sync particular subfolders.
    * If you choose Pictures, choose "All photos" to copy all photos in the folder, or choose "Selected folders" to sync particular subfolders.
    5. If you want iTunes to also include the full-resolution versions of your photos, select the "Include full-resolution photos" checkbox. To access full-size photo files, be sure to enable your iPod for disk use.)
    6. Once you have decided which photos you'd like to sync, click Apply."
    Hope this helps!

  • ITunes can't find photos to share on apple tv

iTunes can't find photos to share on Apple TV when photos were moved from iPhoto to the new Photos

Thanks for the suggestion Limnos but you're right that's not the answer...
iTunes Match allows 25,000 songs so I don't think apple see 20,000 as outside the design parameters.
Anyway I'll wait in hope that someone can offer a solution to the path that Finder uses for each different connection as that's where the answer lies, that or a way to change the path of the server in iTuens, but all the forums I have looked at suggest you can't do that?

I get this message when syncing my Ipod touch "itunes can not back up the ipod because a session could not be started" any ideas?

  • ITunes can't sync photo to both 160GB iPod Classic and 16GB iPhone 3g?

I had the Classic for some time, and never had a problem sync'ing photos.
Then I added an iPhone, and I received the infamous "insufficient permissions" sync error.
Per unwritten SOP, I deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder from the *iPhoto Library* package, then re-sync'ed the iPhone. Miraculously, the photos were re-"optimized," and now on the iPhone.
Then re-sync'ing the iPod yields the "file cannot be found" sync error. One which cannot be solved by repairing permissions, reinstalling iTunes, or restoring the iPod.
So I can only remove photos sync from the iPod, and enjoy them only on my iPhone.
Apparently, only one (set of) file(s) is created in the optimization process, a file (set) that is device-specific.
Thank you for the new bug (reported), Apple. You're really on a roll with them lately.

Well, I guess I fixed it by taking off enough music for it to let me add the photo then putting the music back on. :\

  • Can I synch photos already on my iPod to my new iPad?

Can I synch my existing photos on iPod to my new iPad?

Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
You should connect your device to your computer with a USB cable and import any photos taken pre-activation manually.

  • Can't get photos onto iPod. Everything else is OK.

When I try syncing photos from iTunes to my iPod I get the "The disk could not be read from or written to." error message. Everything else gets synced (music, video, podcasts).
I tried reseting my iPod, rebooting Windows, the software was just installed when I got the iPod so it should be fresh.
    Any ideas?

Hello . I have the exact same problem . After playing with reset - reinstall and speaking to apple directly for over 2hrs. I have found that there is no simple solution . It must be an Xp problem . Customer support suggested that the problem may be remedied if I create a new Xp user and reinstall to that user . It did not work . However - if you want to get pictures on your ipod and you can get videos on your ipod then do as follows - use microsoft movie maker - free with Xp - to make a slideshow of your photos . Then convert the .avi slideshow into ipod format . Put the video slideshow on your ipod and enjoy . You can pause during the slideshow to show people individual pictures . Just a note I can now no longer get podcasts on my 30g video ipod . Starting to wish I kept my hassle free , itunes free flash usb mp3 player .

  • Can't synch photos with NANO

I just purchased my nano. I was able to synch all my songs through ituns 5.0.1.4, then i tried to synch pictures. I went into EDIT and then PREFERENCES. Th edialog box that came up, had several tabs at the top, one of them was "iPod" I choose that one, and then I could see my choices to identify which folder my pictures where in. As soon as I clicked on ANY items on this page, iTUNES shut down. I have restarted my computer 3 times, and the problem occurs at exactly the same spot, As soon as I get to the iPOD tab, and try to select any option on that tab, the iTUNES shuts down.
I can not synch with any pictures. What is going on?
Thanks for any help or suggestions someone might have. Sounds like a bug to me, since it happens in exactly the same spot each time,
    Patrick

    hi Patrick!
1 - Yes I do get an error message, it asks if I want to send a report to iTunes.... and I always say yes.
oh good gracious. that's the error message that i would have expected if you still had a QT 7 public preview beta in place and were encountering a variation of this problem:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302372
... but if that was the case i would have expected to have seen "7.0.2<something>" in your QT "about" screen.
we can try something experimental if you like. it's plausible that you've actually got a very-subtly broken QT 7. (i've seen
    b different
odd behavior in the itunes preferences fixed by a QT reinstall.) so let's try applying the technique from the Apple KB doc
    b anyway
to see if that fixes the problem. (best probably to switch your antivirus and antispyware off prior to uninstalls and repair installs too. i've seen those packages interfere with with QT 7 installs/uninstalls before.)
if that doesn't work, we can try replacing the "repair itunes" step with an "install a QT 7 standalone" step. there's a link to a a QT 7 standalone install inside here:
Scott Patrie, "Installation hangs on "installing QuickTime"", 10:33pm Oct 7, 2004 CDT
download and save the QT 7 installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the installation from there rather than online.) switch off antispyware and antivirus prior to the install.
    keep us posted.
    love, b

Hello, Patrick, and welcome to the Discussions.
Try posting in the iTunes for Windows area. You'll be more likely to get a quick and accurate answer there than you will here in the iTunes for Macintosh forum. Good luck.

  • Can't synch photos error (-69).  Please HELP!

I don't know if anyone out there will be able to help, but I am becoming desperate. I am having a terrible time synching my ipod photos. For the last several times that I have synched it, I get (-69) errors. I have sought answers on this board and followed their advice and painstakingly was able to synch my ipod after clearing 20+songs from it. However, it now will not synch my photos. Actually, in synched them earlier tonight, and then I added a few more, and it gave me the (-69) message again. I tried removing the most recently added photos, and still nothing. I restored the entire ipod, and still I get the same error message.
I have had the ipod for about a year and just started having this trouble about two weeks ago. I actually tried the solution you gave, but I can't even get my ipod to go into disk mode. I have tried several times and after resetting it always just opens at the normal screen.
I am about at my wits end here and ready to toss the entire thing. I don't know if anyone can help, but I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you in advance, if for nothing else than for taking the time to read this novel of an e-mail.

    Thanks both, really helpful!
I renamed all assets, making sure they we shorter and added underscores instead of spaces just in case, and created the project again. It then worked fine.
    Thanks again.

  • Can't sync Photos to iPod - Unknown Error (-50)

Earlier I was not able to sync my iPhoto library to my iPod via iTunes because I would get the error message "...Unknown Error (-50)".
I have solved my problem, but I thought I would share my experience so Apple can fix the problem and other people can benefit from my work around until the problem is fixed.
The problem seems to stem from iPhoto's AlbumData.xml file getting bad XML syntax. iPhoto can read this bad XML syntax and function, but iTunes can't handle it.
I imported some photos into iPhoto that had some keywords that were entered via Google Picasa. These keywords some how caused iPhoto to put bad syntax in the AlbumData.xml file. To get the XML file correct, I used iPhoto to identify the offending photos and keywords. I think replaced the photo's keywords with keywords I created in iPhoto and deleted the Picasa generated keywords from my iPhoto Library using iPhoto's preferences page.
Ironically, iPhoto worked fine and it was iTunes that could not handle the bad XML file (funny, I thought iTunes would be making API calls to iPhoto and not reading the XML file directly - so much for software reuse).
Hopefully, Apple will fix this problem in future iPhoto and iTune fixes. After all, those darn "Hi, I am Mac..." commercials claim that Apple so is much better then MS. Seems like Apple's software has odors too.
    Just sharing,
    Donald

Donald B:- This fix worked a treat! Thanks.
Gravity Addict:- I was lucky that the problem obviously occurred after my last import so I only had to look at 60 pictures.
In the 'Photos' menu click 'Get Info' to show the Info window with 'Keywords' highlighted. For me it was obvious that I had two keywords associated with these pictures that I had not put in, so just deleted these from the iPhoto preferences. Hope this works for you.

  • Can't Sync Photos To iPod Classic

I have the last white plastic Imac with the latest version of the Mac OS (10.5.7) and with the latest version of iTunes (8.2).
I just recently tried to sync some photos (for the very first time) to the iPod. When I select the folder where the photos are located and tell iTunes to APPLY (sync), I get an error msg. telling me that iTunes CAN'T find the iPod (though the iPod does indeed show up in the left hand column of iTunes under devices); i.e it's saying that it can't find the iPod though it quite obviously DOES recognize it.
I've wasted a lot of time talking with Apple support who haven't been able to help. I find that Apple tech support and AppleCare tech support is inconsistent. I've wasted hours on the phone with them to ultimately get no (correct) help or to suddenly get a dial tone (the connection is dropped on the Apple end) and I have to call back and START ALL OVER AGAIN....going through Apple's funky voice mail system, etc. and then having to re-explain everything AGAIN from square one. A real pain in the ying-yang.
This is perhaps related to another issue that I've had with the iPod since I've had it and NEVER got resolved through Apple and I have just lived w/ the problem since last Oct; see my msg. from some months back that still remains unresolved.
BTW, I had a scheduled call from an "Apple Expert" yesterday who was supposed to have all the details of the problem (I had gone into detail relating the issue to an Apple Tech the day before and was assured that the expert would be fully up-to-speed when he/she called) but when I got the call I found that the tech had NOT been fully briefed as I was told that the person would be so they were unable to help and hence wasted a greater part of my day scheduling around waiting for the call from the "Expert". Phooey!
    HELP!
    JG

I had the same Problem, very frustrating until you realize what it was. My simple fix was!
    On your IPOD go to
    Settings
    Main Menu
    Photos (probably set to off)
    Turn ON
    Should do it
