ITunes cancels iPhone sync

When I try to sync my iPhone through iTunes (cable or wifi) iTunes cancels the sync after copying ~100 songs.
I recently bought a new macbook pro and am trying to sync my iphone to the new computer (it used to sync to my PC).
I've set everything up (I'm syncing several playlists) and pressed sync but after copying several songs itunes cancels the sync with no error message.
I've read several posts here on the subject and have already tried:
Unticking "Sync Music", syncing and then ticking it back on
Restoring my iphone from backup and then trying to sync
Syncing different combinations of playlists
Unfortunately the issue persists.
Since the processes above deleted my iphone's music help would be appreciated.
I'm using:
     iOS 7.0.4 on iPhone 4S
     iTunes 11.1.4
OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 on Macbook Pro 15' Retina
No Updates are available in the appstore.

this might not be your issues, but i had the same problem and it was resolved simply by setting the computer time clock to the correct local time.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
    Does iTunes launch properly now?
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:

  • Itunes cancelling music sync on iPad AND iPhone - Help!

For some reason only 2 songs will sync onto either device - they are not any different from the rest of my music. I have done everything I could find on here, including 'ticking the box' beside the song, restoring my phone, quitting and reopening iTunes, removing all music and putting it back on. I have enough room on both devices. When I sync, it gets stuck at the very end, usually it can sync 5-6 songs and then cancels the sync. The only thing I could think of is I recently added some songs from a USB, but I converted them to mp3 format. I also don't know why that would affect the rest of my music.
I NEED to resolve this issue as I'm going away on holidays and won't have my laptop with me, and i currently have 2 songs on each device

I'm observing the same problem. iTunes is nearly frozen, especially podcasts make the system extremely slow, no downloads possible at all. Opening an album song list is also painfully slow. All this prevents me from buying from the store. Apple should be interested in this. Please note that I'm not using iTunes match!

  • ITunes-to-iPhone sync broken

Both my iPhone and my iMac are top-of-the-line, less than three months old, and are running the latest, most updated system software. However, since upgrading to these glistening, state-of-the-art devices, I have been unable to consistently produce acceptable results when attempting to sync music and podcasts from the computer to the phone.
New songs that I have purchased and downloaded through the iTunes Store appear on my computer in the iTunes library and on the iPhone. However, on the iPhone, the new songs show only as available downloads, with the little cloud/arrow icon next to them. When I tap this, the red square-in-a-circle icon appears, meaning the song is going to download all over again, so if I’m not in WiFi range, I’m outta luck. In iTunes > iPhone > On This Phone, the songs appear, but are greyed out.
Furthermore, most of the podcasts that I have downloaded to my computer and synced with the phone are unplayable on the phone, eliciting a “this episode is temporarily unavailable” message.
So far, 3 things “fix” the first problem.
    1. Remove all the music, (by unchecking “Sync Music” in iTunes > iPhone > Music and clicking “Apply”), then resync it by re-checking the box and re-applying. The whole library. Every time I want to add even 1 new song. This takes an hour.
    2. A full restore — as suggested by Apple — also fixes it, but alas, this “fix,” aside from being extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive, is only temporary. Within a few hours or days the issue recurs.
    3. Tick the box labeled “Manually manage music and videos” in iTunes > iPhone> Summary. With this method, I connect the phone and drag my newly downloaded song from the iTunes music library list over to the right-hand side of the window. An “Add To” device list pops up, and I release the song into my phone. The song now appears in iTunes > iPhone > On This Phone, so I click “sync”. Sometimes this works, but at least half the time, the same exact steps produce the message “The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-54).” Sometimes this error dialog box persists through multiple attempts to dismiss it.
The podcast issue cannot, as far as I can tell, be resolved even by a clunky workaround. If I want to listen to a podcast on my iPhone, I must manually download it directly to the device via WiFi. This isn’t a fix for me, since my daily routine takes place in rural areas where WiFi is not available. Even a manually downloaded podcast reverts, inexplicably, to the “unavailable” state every time I sync the phone again.
It would be much simpler if the podcast app merely worked the way it used to prior to Mavericks and iOS7 and iTunes 11, by which I mean: podcasts that have already been downloaded to iTunes on the computer should simply sync with the selected device when “sync” is clicked. Alas.
Over the past weeks I have read at least fifteen threads on these issues, none of which offer anything like a workable, permanent solution, and all of which contain innumerable instances of plaintive wailing by frustrated customers who merely want what they paid for. It is a pity that these pretty, expensive gadgets cannot perform even a simple sync without eliciting anger and despair.

  • Latest iTunes update; iPhone sync takes a long, long time

I have a 64GB iPhone 4S, up to date with latest software.  I have iTunes running on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows Vista 64-bit SP2; running latest update of iTunes.
I am currently doing my second iPhone sync to change out a bunch of music since the latest iTunes update.  I have tons of records, and I like to switch up the tunes quite a bit.  I love the 64GB iPhone; holds over 500 albums.
Both, the first time and now this time, the sync is taking forever.  Seriously, as I type this the sync is now past two hours and looks to be about 60% done.
Prior to this update (both iTunes and phone), the sync took maybe 20 minutes,  Nothing else has changed; same computer/operating system, no bugs or viruses.  The only thing I think it can be is this latest update to iTunes; which, by the way, dumped all my albums when the update was done.  I had to add all the folders again; that took a while and a lot of album covers were lost.  Big pain in the butt, basically.
I don't know if you Apple people are listening, but this is eroding my confidence in your brand.  Will I spring for a MacBook like I was planning?  Hmmm...

No solution - just the same problem.
My wife's 4s (iOS 7.0.2) has been hanging at syncing Contacts on iTunes 11.1 (iMac; Mountain Lion) the past several days. It never gets past "Syncing Contacts".
Doesn't anyone have any advice. I've hard re-booted her iPhone; re-booted the iMac.
We don't have this problem with either my iPhone 5 (7.0.2), her 2nd-gen iPad or her old iPot Touch.
We share the same contacts and calendars across all of these devices and the iMac.

  • Changing which iTunes library iPhone sync's to

    Here's my set up:
I have a bunch of music set up in an itunes library that lives on an external drive at home. I don't really use this to listen to music, it's just my database and what I sync my 60gb ipod to.
I have a second itunes library that lives on my macbook, with significantly less music on it, to save hard drive space.
My girlfriend shares the computer, but is currently working out of town. The problem is that her iphone is synced to the external hard drive library (which is an old beast of an external drive).
I want her iphone to sync to the macbook's library so that she can change up music whenever, as I always have the macbook with me. So how does one change which library an iphone sync's to, and how do you it without losing apps, phone numbers, etc.

I'm just guessing here, but if you log out of itunes and create a new user ID, would that work??
Or just create different playlists and when you sync your device you can check and uncheck which playlists to sync.

  • "Not Listend To Recently" iTunes to iPhone Sync Question/Problem

    iPhone 3G w/3.0, iTunes 8.2, Windows Vista
I searched the FAQ and the posts, I see others ask similar question, but not a clear answer yet.
I have a number of Podcasts that I listen to daily, on my iPhone, NEVER on my computer. I regularly get the little ! saying this podcast will not update because you have not listend to it recently. HOW do I get my computer to recognize/sync the fact that I HAVE listened to the podcast recently?
According to the docs, the computer and phone will keep track of where you are in the podcast. The blue dots are always on my iTunes Podcasts.
    Thanks in Advance.

There is an increasingly common problem where listens on the iPod (and it may well apply to the iPhone as well) are not being updated back to iTunes upon syncing.
Is that the problem you are experiencing? If so, FYI there has been no solution yet. The only remedy, which I found by accident, is to reboot the iTunes machine before syncing the iPod. A pain I know, but give it a try.

  • ITunes cancels the syncing with my iPhone.

Okay this has bothered me since last month. When I try to sync my music, it will sync half of the songs, then will stop around the middle of them. It's so frustrating, I don't even know why. I have an iPhone 4S and it is up to date, as well as iTunes on my MacBook. I've looked for this problem on internet but I can't seem to find a proper solution for my problem. Can Apple do something for this? Seriously, it's the stupidiest problem I've ever had, if it has to do with iTunes or the last iOS update, PLEASE FIX IT.

I'm having this problem as well.  iTunes will not finish syncing my phone.  It's been frozen with the status bar spinning.  I've rebooted both my mac and iPhone 4S to no avail.  I've checked and unchecked manual manage and that hasn't worked either.  This is incredibly frustrating.  Any help or suggestions that would resolve the issue would be very much appreciated.

  • I updated my iphone 4 to the IOS6 and now it keeps crashing and itunes cancels the sync when its either copying apps or music what do i do!!

I dont know what to do

Are you running Leopard on your Mac, Laurie?
If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)
A .dmg installer for iTunes version 10.6.3.25 for Mac OS can be found at the following download page on the Apple website:

  • IPhoto Events NOT Appearing in iTunes for iPhone Syncing

    Hi Guys,
I'm a recent convert from PC to mac. I loaded all my pictures into iPhoto and it recognized them all correctly as Events.
In iTunes though, I don't see a listing of my events. It says "Last 3 Months" and "Last Import"
How can I get it to see my events?

You need to create "Albums" in iPhoto if you want them separated by Events:
Ex: Johnny's Birthday (drag the birthday pix in Album-Titled: Johnny's Birthday
    Next Album, etc.
In iTunes, when you go to the "Photos" Tab.. you choose which Albums you want to sync in phone.. Then Ta daa!
I personally, just made an Album Titled "iPhone". Any pix I want in my iPhone, I just drag it in that file.. (all events)
That way I only have to worry about one file.

  • New MAC OSX Address Book Groups Do Not Appear in iTunes for iPhone Sync?

New Groups (and their associated new contacts) created in the MAC OSX Address Book since the initial installation of my iPhone do not appear in iTunes, and hence do not sync with iPhone. I have tried the Advanced - Replace information on this iPhone - Contacts to no avail.

I had this problem for several weeks now!
I followed your procedure and - addresses there, calender gone! Even worse!
So I copied the old SyncServices Folder back into /Library/Application Support/
result as expected, calender there, addresses gone.
My lady called, I was on the phone for 10 minutes or so. Coming back to my iMac I see a Sync-Problem-Icon jumping in the dock. I've been told that one of my addresses has a conflict between adressbook and iPhone. OK. Solve it with adressbook, please.
I open iTunes and everything is there, calender data and adresses!
    Finally!
    Thank you, Maurizio!

  • Itunes and Iphone sync issues

    Hi There,
So I have a slight problem and would be grateful if someone would shed some light as to how I can overcome this.
    I have an iPhone 5 and iTunes for windows, however, I have not downloaded the current software for the iPhone 5 as I do no have any storage space for it. I have recently tried to update my iPhone's music playlist but the playlist I want to sync is not, however, my old music and playlists keep syncing instead, and it keeps adding albums.In my new playlist I have approx 200ish songs whereas my iTunes is syncing over 700ish (and I've made sure I have not clicked and synced my library- my library has over 1000 so not sure where its syncing 700) I have tried several times to fix this by;
    switching off phone
closing iTunes and opening it again
creating a different playlist and re-syncing music
    de-selecting albums and artists manually
    de-selecting all music then syncing
    created a different playlist
and none of the above have worked at all
It would be much appreciated if anyone has any advice or guidance as to how I can fix this, as I have new music I want to listen to, and with this new music I'll have more storage space!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi R@chel,
It sounds as if you are having difficulty making sure your iPhone only gets the music you want. In order to do this, you need to manually manage the data that gets synced to your iPhone. This article explains how to do so -

    Syncing manually
If you prefer not to automatically sync content to your device, you can set up manual syncing:
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
Click the Devices button in the upper-right corner. (If you're viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner. The Devices button will appear.)
In the main iTunes browser window, select the Summary tab.
Select the option to Manually manage music and videos or Manually manage music. This will deselect the automatic sync settings for the Music, Movies, and TV Shows tabs.
    Click Apply.
    And -
After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your device. To add content to your device:
    Select your device.
    Click On this Device.
Choose Add to in the upper-right corner. If you drag a song, video, TV show, or movie while viewing the media in your iTunes library, a sidebar will show up on the right. You can drag your content onto the device. You can also create and modify playlists directly on the device.

  • SL and iTunes broken iPhone sync

I get this message when I plug my iPhone into the cradle:
"The Phone [my phone's name] cannot be synced. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
It still manages to sync most of the info, including podcasts and music. I cannot tell what ISN'T being synced.
Just upgraded to iTunes 9 and it's still broken. This has occurred ever since SL was installed (clean, then used Migration Assistant). My only login is Administrator, I have repaired permissions (several times), done a Keychain repair, Applied my permissions to all iTunes-related folders in Library and deleted prefs and cannot find the source of this.

Figured it out by process of elimination of sync services: a folder of photos had bad permissions.

  • Cannot drag/drop music from iTunes onto iPhone (synced with a different computer)

I have a library of music already on my iPhone that was synced with another computer. I am working on a different computer and bought some music that I thought I could just drag and drop into my iphone from iTunes. I have read that you need to check manually manage music but when I do that it says it will erase everything on my phone. I don't want to do that because I have music on my phone that isn't in the library I'm using. Is there anything else I can do?

you iphone does not work like a regular ipod, where you can drag and drop music, you must sync it with itunes. plug it into your computer, click on the icon that is labeled iphone. when you do this there is a section on the top that says music. click on that, then you can select playlists and artists, etc. then click apply. it should work then

  • ITunes / iPod/iPhone Syncing w/Leopard and two laptops

My wife and I have quite an extensive iTunes library, with both music and purchased TV Shows / Movies. We have also moved almost to a complete mobile platform, I have a MBP and she has a MB.
Problem is, our iTunes library is so huge it won't fit on each of our laptops (and I even upgrade my MBP to a 320GB drive).
Seeing as iTunes wants to have the files local to sync with each of our iPhones, this poses a problem.
I was wondering if there was any way with Leopard server or any other method of essential doing the following (PS I have a PM G5 with 3TB of storage this would work out great with)....
Have an iTunes server sharing music/movies/tv shows, etc... each of our laptops able to point to it, not only to play, but to sync each of our devices, we each have an iPhone and at least two iPods). That way the files could be stored in one location, we could sync up our iPhones and not have duplicated files wasting space. Would like to be able to do this with Podcasts too.
It would be even better if we could click on a playlist and hit sync, and it would pull it down from the server and "sync" that playlist to the iTunes library on the laptop, in case we were on a business trip and wanted to watch a movie/tv show on our laptop instead of the iPhone.
If anyone has any hints or ideas to get this completely or partially it would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
P.S. AppleTV is on it's way, so plug that variable in there too.
