ITunes cannot find the folder containing the installation package itunes64.msi.
When I try and update iTunes to the newest version it says that it cannot find the itunes64.msi. How to i fix this? I have a Dell Inspiron if that makes a difference.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

This leads me to another dialog box that says: The file .......is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package iTunes64.msi in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
That doesn't work either. What to do?

I'm having troubles converting my raw files from Nikon D5200 (NEF) to DNG. I tried using Lightroom 4, but it didn't identify the folder containing the files. So i downloaded the latest DNG converter but that too didn't identify the files kept in the folder location. So I downloaded DNG converter v7.3 for D5200. It identifies the folder and files; but it is giving me parsing error on trying to convert files. I'm running Windows Vista Home Edition SP1. Kindly advise. Thank you.
I probably missed this detail in what you’ve posted, but do you see the thumbnails of the three cameras’ raw files in Finder if you don’t convert to DNG?
What has happened in the past is that the Apple raw interpreter doesn’t read thumbnails of DNGs it doesn’t like, where at least one thing it didn’t used to like was embedded lens corrections for mirrorless cameras. Are the Olympus and Panasonic mirrorless—meaning there is no optical viewfinder and everything is seen on an LCD screen or perhaps an electronic view finder? If so the reason these are different is that the camera is doing the lens distortion corrections automatically and this information is stored in the raw files and in the DNGs but Apple doesn’t know how to use these embedded lens corrections or doesn’t know how to read the newer DNG spec that does allow for this information to be embedded in the DNG, at least.
Apple could just extract the embedded jpg preview and ignore the other parts of the file it doesn’t understand, but it apparently doesn’t do this.
What I’m not sure about is if the Apple raw interpreter still has this problem or if you’re on an older system without the latest updates for camera raw decoding by Apple. -
ITunes cannot find files even though the path is correct in Preferences
Hello: I have a problem that is not addressed in any support article.
When I click to play a song in iTunes, I get the message that iTunes cannot find the original file.
When I check Preferences > Advanced > iTunes folder locations, I see all of my files there, but iTunes does not.
I have reset, consolodated the library, and performed all tasks noted in the support articles. Still no luck.
Can anyone help?

PowerPC G5 iMac Mac OS X (10.4.8)I had the same thing happen and have been pulling my hair out about this for a week now. Finally today I hit on a fix that worked for me and I hope it works for you.
For this to work, you need a backup of the last saved iTunes Library file.
First, follow directions about locating your iTunes music folder. In prefs>advanced choose your location and make sure that is right.
Locate your last saved iTunes Library file (the one that was working before things went haywire with the !'s everywhere). Also locate the iTunes prefs file in ~/library/prefs. For me, these were part of a Backup, so I selected "restore" ONLY THESE particular files from my last backup. When prompted to replace existing files, I said YES.
After backup ran, restoring the old Library and replacing the corrupted one, I relaunched iTunes and VOILA. All files were now correctly linked.
This left one last task, re-importing all songs I'd imported since that previous backup. To find these, I sorted my music folder by date modified and checked the most recent songs against the most recent in my Library. (sort your iTunes LIbrary by "Date Added", which you can add manually if it's not part of your categories bar. -
My Itunes messed up and i tryed to uninstall everything itunes and related to, and the Itunes wont uninstall and says an error with installer is missing and wants me to browse new source for it. i tried everything and that message box keeps popping up.

Some of the subfolders will not show bookmarks when I click on the folder containing the subfolder.
I have three computers. 27" iMac, 11" MacBook Air, 13" MacBook Pro. All my bookmarks are synced with Xmarks. On the iMAc and the MacBook Air, the bookmarks work as they should. The bookmark list drops down when I click on Bookmarks and all the subfolders within the main folders contain the bookmarks I have saved in them. On the MacBook Pro this is not the case for one of my folders. It contains about 10 or 12 subfolders and only 5 or 6 of the subfolders show bookmarks when highlighted.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and then syncing bookmarks again but the problem still persists. I have checked file permissions and they are set as they should be.
I am now at a loss for what to do.Sorry, that sounds like a question for Xmarks support. You aren't using both Xmarks '''and''' Firefox Sync, are you? We have had a number of support posting about problems similar to what you are seeing when using both.

These ones are tricky. But the following instructions are worth a try.
First do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related components (but don't reinstall just yet), as per the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
a. Launch regedit (Start >> Search Programs and Files >> type Regedit and open the regedit that comes up.)
b. Access the following Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData \S-1-5-18\Components
c. Perform the following actions
i. Right Click on Components Folder
ii. Select Permissions
iii. Select Full Control and Read Permissions options
iv. Select Advanced Button
v. Select Owner Tab
vi. Select to Change Owner to the Administrators
vii. Check the option “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects”
viii. Select OK when prompted that it may not change all.
ix. Select Apply
x. Select Apply again
xi. Exit the Registry Editor
Now try reinstalling iTunes again. Does it go in properly this time? -

I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness. Itunes cannot find entry point object
Hello, please help before I go insane
I have a brand new Dell laptop and an iPhone 5c with a USB cable that has seen better days. It still charges, but not very consistently through a laptop and often comes up with 'the device you have plugged in has malfunctioned' or 'unknown device' but will occasionally work. I also have an iPad 2 which works absolutely fine.
I have iTunes installed, the latest version, it was a struggle getting it to work without it just crashing initially, but after about 40 uninstalls, delete, redownload, reinstall etc I finally managed to get it to work. I plugged my phone in and got the message 'the procedure entry point _objc_load_image could not be located in the dynamic link library objc.dll.' and iTunes wouldn't recognise my iPhone although my laptop did. The message wouldn't go away so I downloaded the latest iTunes again, uninstalled and deleted using the wizard and then downloaded again. I did try using the 'repair' option, however it told me that 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below' (I have no idea where to find iTunes manually).
Anyway, after doing this 7 times after connecting my phone or my iPad into the computer and the same '_objc_load_image_' error coming up each time, and me then having the reinstall iTunes, I still cannot get it to read my phone or iPad.
Someone help, I only have a laptop for 7 more days...
P.S. I have tried searching the computer for .dll files but there is never any

ITunes cannot find but I can ( ! ) - how do I fix this?
I recently upgraded to a larger capacity drive and copied my library to the new drive but also kept a backup on the old drive. Now on the new drive, I have a ton of those exclamation points and iTunes cannot find a lot of the songs. It is making me find them one song at a time. How can I keep my new drive as the location where iTunes is stored (using the Advanced section of preferences for iTunes music folder location) but get iTunes to fix these that it cannot locate? And if I can locate them one at a time just by going back to the backup, why can't iTunes figure that out on its own? I'm not even sure why this happened, since I did the Consolidate and Keep iTunes folder organized functions when transferring to the new drive. Please help!
Hi - the original files were copied to the new drive and unfortunately, were deleted from the old drive. But what I do have on the old drive, and iTunes seems to be able to use it when it wants me to locate the songs one by one, is a backup copy of my library I made before the move to the new drive.
Since moving, I set the new drive location as where the iTunes folder is stored, and the song information is all in the library on the new drive, but it confuses me why that info is there but the "sound" isn't. The files that are affected seem to be mostly the first files I loaded on when I got iTunes in December. A lot came from Windows media. I wish I could understand why if it has me "locate" it, it can then fix the problem (although that has to be done song-by-song) but yet it cannot seem to link to the entire folder and I have to do this one song at a time. Would it be possible to put that backup folder on a CD, and create CD backups of my functioning library on the new drive, and then reinstall iTunes on the new drive using the multiple CDs? Would it let me use CD backups created in two different backups, and extract what each backup had to thus make my library complete again (between the two backups, that would be my entire library.) -
