Itunes cannot sync photos

Trying to sync photos to new 80GB Classic. I get the following error message "itunes cannot sync photos to the ipod "ipod name" because the folder "my pictures" cannot be found."
I coincidentally got a a new computer a week ago and I get the same error message on both the new computer and the old computer.
I've seen several posts about photo syncing problems but I have not yet seen the resolution...maybe I missed it? Any help?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • What does this mean? iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because you do not have write access to the folder "iChat Icons"

Can anyone help me please? My iphone originally was linked to my PC. I downloaded over 3,000 pictures from my PC to my iphone. Since then my PC broke and now I have a macbook pro and the macbook doesn't recognize all the pictures from my pc. I get the following message.
-iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone "Daniel's iPhone" because you do not have write access to the folder "iChat Icons".

    Hi,
I picked up on this Post as I was searching for "iChat" in non iChat places.
A Mac will contain a Folder for "iChat Icons"
It is kept in Hard Drive/System/Library/Application Support/iChat icons
There are about 9 sub folders here including Planets, Guitars, Feng Shui and so on.
They are normally accessed in iChat to be your Own Buddy pic.
They way you have phrased your posts suggests you have a folder on your phone called "iChat icons" which may have been created by the PC.
For people who know more about iTunes than I do to help will need to know where this Folder is exactly.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos to AppleTV . . . unknown error occurred (-50)

Whenever I try to sync photos via iTunes with AppleTV using iPhoto as the source in the Photos tab, I get the following error message "iTunes cannot sync photos to AppleTV because of a problem on your computer. Unknown error occurred (-50)." I can sync all other media and even photos so long as do not sync it from iPhoto as a source (e.g., syncing from file folders not a problem).
I tried everything that I could think of: disconnecting and re-syncing AppleTV, restore to factory settings AppleTV and basically re-installing it, re-installed iPhoto, updated iPhoto library. I have also checked to make sure Slideshows in iPhoto are not linked to any music that may have ampersand or some other strange symbols. I have updated AppleTV to version 3.0.1, iPhoto has been updated to version 8.1.1 (iLife '09). OS is 10.6.2.
I am going crazy in trying to fix this problem but so far it is a dead end. Exporting slideshows is not a very attractive option as it takes forever. This "error" happened about a week ago when I was putting a slideshow together in iPhoto and then tried to sync it with AppleTV. First, went through without any problems, second - error message and that is where I am currently stuck.
If someone has ANY ideas how to resolve this, I would really appreciate your thoughts.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos following Photos upgrade

Since upgrading to 10.10.3 and migrating my iPhoto database to the new Photos.app, iTunes is throwing up an error message:
iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone “[my iphone]” because your iPhoto Library could not be found. Open iPhoto to create or update your iPhoto Library.
My iTunes version is 12.1.2.27 (it updated yesterday) and all the rest of my software is updated to the latest versions.
I have tried rebooting and restarting iTunes and Photos many times.
My iPhone syncs new photos fine to Photos.
There is an option in iTunes to change the iTunes Media folder location, but this only affects music not photos.
Would love some help with this! Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with my two iPads. Got same error message.. What i discovered is that once you device in connected you can go into setting. You will need to click on photos. At top of screen that opens you photo setting you will  then need to click synch photos block. It will then open the lower portion of you photos settings. You can then click on circle to sync all photos or select only the albums you want synced and include videos if you wish. Once you have clicked on all desired setting you will need to click the sync button manually on bottom of that screen next to all you used and free GB space.  You will get a pop up window asking if you want to erase all photos on you device. If you feel all your pictures and videos transferred over to the new photo app then you should be fine erasing all the pics on the device and now the new photo settings will sync to your device.. I hope this has been helpful to you. As it worked for me.
Look at it this way you just need to reset all your photos setting because they stopped communicating with you device once the iPhoto transferred you photos to the new photo app.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because your iPhoto Library is not yet available.

I've turned my iPhone 4 into a iPod, meaning I only use it to hold music for my workouts. Ever since I've upgraded to Yosmite I can't sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes anymore. I can back it up, but I can't sync. Each time it tells me "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because your iPhoto Library is not yet available"  I don't want to sync any photos, just music.
I've tried to repair my iPhoto Library, restarted my Mac, restarted my iPhone 4 but I still get his error message.
In iTunes when I select my iPhone 4 > Photos, I just get a spinning wheel.
    Any thoughts??

I can't follow the first link since I just get a spinning wheel for photos.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos because you do not have write access to the folder Elements 13 Organiser

    Does anyone have the answer

Are you using a Mac or a PC ?
Is 'Pictures' the directory that you've chosen to sync photos (on the Photos tab) from on your computer ? When you sync photos iTunes creates an 'iPod Photo Cache' foldr under the folder that you've selected to sync photos from - it's possible that the Pictures directory doesn't currently have write access on it, so iTunes can't create that directory.
On a Mac you can go into Finder, select/highlight the Pictures folder and do 'get-info' (command-I) and change its sharing and permissions. If using a PC then you should be able to do similar via windows explorer

  • ITunes cannot sync photos from iPhoto because of same filename

I have 2 iPhones that both import into a single iMac using iPhoto with a shared library (i.e., two user accounts accessing the same iPhoto library in the Shared folder). The iPhones are set to sync the last 5 Events from iPhoto, however it fails to do so with certain pictures stating "Some of your photos, including the photo “IMG_0513.JPG”, were not copied to the iPad “My iPad” because they cannot be displayed on your iPad". I think I have determined that the problem is that both iPhones are naming various pictures with the same filenames since the naming is simply sequential.  Therefore, both iPhone have images named IMG_513.JPG, for example, even though they are different images and though iPhoto doesn't have a problem with that the iPhone and iPad do. My current solution is to have iPhoto duplicate the photos that won't sync (I assume this creates another file with a 2 affixed to it) and delete the original.  It's a pain to do that, but I haven't found any other way to change the filenames once they've been imported or change how the iPhone name the photos when they're taken.  Any suggestions?

I have a similar problem.  I have over 5000 photos in my iPhoto Library.  I have used several different cameras over the years, so I have some duplicate file names...IMG_XXXX.  This has never been a problem before.  But, I am trying to sync to my brand new iPad 2.  I have been able to transfer about 1200 photos, but I get  the same warning that you get.
There is no option to skip the problem photo(s) and keep sync going.  It just stops.
Looking for a little help here?

    Hi Joe,
Follow the instructions here to delete the photo cache.
iTunes: Photo sync creates iPod Photo Cache folder
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

  • Cannot sync photos "iPhoto library is not yet available"

When syncing iPhone 5s to iMac running Yosemite and get the following error:
"iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone "iPhone" because your iPhoto library is not yet available. Please try again later."
This phone has been syncing with iPhoto for some time now. This is a new one to me.
Tried rebooting the phone and the desktop machine, same result.
Interestingly, in iTunes when selecting the "photos" page all I get is the spinning circle for the iPhone, the other selections, Summary, Apps, etc., all load fine.
The same situation is true for the iPad mini, the photo page never loads. I have not attempted to sync the iPad since this error appeared.
    Anyone familiar with this error?
This mac has had the "iPod" cache folder deleted in past months to clear another sync error, but had been syncing fine since then.
    iTunes version 12.1.050
    Thanks!

    @CookieDuster
We going to run a test and see if if this solution works.  Lets try
    On your super cool imac:
go to system preferences>users & group>create a new account and name it test (make sure you set it as an admin account)
get an external hd and plug it in
next go to finder>pictures>and copy iphoto library that is located there and put in the external hd
now log into the test account
transfer the iphoto library from external to pictures folder.  if you see the same file there, do not worry you are just overwriting it.
once that complete, I would like for you to test your iphone and see if it syncs over.
    Thanks!

  • HT1386 I sync all songs, photos and videos between my computer and iPod classic with no problems, but when I get to sync info I get this message: "iTunes cannot sync Calendar and contacts to iPod. Try logging out of Windows adn then logging back in".

I sync all songs, photos and videos between my computer and iPod classic with no problems, but when I get to sync info I get this message: "iTunes cannot sync Calendar and contacts to iPod. Try logging out of Windows adn then logging back in".  Could you please help?

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • HT4236 tring to sync photos from my pc to ipad but it says "ITune cannot sync apps to the Ipad "user's Ipad" because the apps installed on the Ipad could not be determined.  I don't know what that means.  Can anyone help?

    I'm sorry about your loss.
Are you trying to recover data from this iPad, or to set it up as new (erase everything on it, and simply use the iPad as if it were brand new as your new iPad)?
If the latter, you can place the iPad into recovery mode as shown here.  You may have to try this several times:

  • ITunes cannot sync to the AppleTV because of a problem on your computer.  The required file cannot be found.

I have two first Gen Apple TV's and a new MAC Book Pro.  I have about 600GB of music and 40GB of photos located on an external hard drive (Western Digital).  In the past, I have not run into any issues when syncing music or photos. Recently, I get an error message "iTunes cannot sync to the AppleTV because of a problem you your computer.  The required file cannot be found."  I noticed this after I added a few folders to my photo folder, which the AppleTV is pointed to for accessing and syncing my photos.  I went to the AppleTV to look to see if the new folders were in the photos, but they were not listed and obviously not syncing from the hard drive to the AppleTV.
For trouble shooting, I disconnected my upstairs AppleTV from iTunes, then reconnected, pointed the AppleTV to the applicable music and phots folders on my external hard drive.  The music synced fine, but the photos did not sync.  I got the same error message.
Does anyone have any advice to what the issue may be??
I read some posts similar to mine and the referenced deleting the iPhoto file cache.  I did not try this as I do not use iPhoto as the source for my photos syncing to my AppleTV's.
    Thanks - Scott1508

Looks like my WD Hard Drive may have an issue.  I pointed the Apple TV to the photos folder on my other WD Hard Drive, which is formatted for MAC and it synced the photos fine.  I had never had an issue with the first WD Hard Drive, but it was never formatted for MAC.
Not sure if this could be the issue???
I am considering getting an Apple Time Capsule (2 TB) for my back up, but also need a second back up for all my music and photos.
Does anyone have advice on moving to the Time Capsule as my main back up and keeping a WD as the secondary back up??
