I understand there will be new software available that will inable the 8320 to download from Itunes.  Anybody know if this is true and if so, when?????

Where have you seen or read this?
The only thing coming is miutunes and is in Beta. Can be downloaded for free at the moment as Beta Customer, sign up required.

  • Disc Card Size for Curve 8320 (AT&T)

I ordered the Curve 8320 (AT&T) which is in transit as I type and I was looking at ordering some accessories from Amazon. While checking the SanDisc Cards I noticed several different complaints about the sizes.
Some said 8 GB was too big and there were complaints about what class they came at. Some thought it was going to be class6 or 4 and it came as class 2. I'm pretty ignorant to any of these things and wouldn't have even known about it had I not read the reviews.
Also they were talking about getting the card with the adaptor. I suppose thats so the card can be put in the desk top slot?
I'd like to know in laymens terms what I should get that will make things the easiest for me to deal with.
wouldn't simply connecting the BB with the cord to my PC be the simplest...and why would I need to do anything different like some of the reviewers in Amazon speak about?
I was looking to buy this card with the adaptor. 8GB class 4 with adaptor for $20 Does that sound right? (or the one below this link? )

Then there's this 4GB that says it's specifically for the Curve 8320..hmmmm

First things first.  You will need to check what version OS your device is running before deciding on what size card to get - unless you upgrade the OS to 4.5.0.81 or higher.  The 8320 can come with OS 4.2.2 which only supports a 4 Gb card.  Supported card size info can be found here.  Check this post for info on upgrading you device's OS.
Second, I don't know what "Class" means with an SD card - I would guess it means what speed it is.  Speed is really only a significant factor for high resolution (over 5 Megapixel) cameras.
While you can simply plug your BlackBerry into your Computer using a USB cable (at which point the SD card will appear as any other USB removeable drive), it is always pretty slow.  I would strongly recommend getting a Micro SD card with an SD adapter - and of course a card reader for your PC if you don't already have one.  Do major transfers using the SD adapter (more than a Gig of data), and use the USB cable for smaller transfers.   You'll want to keep the shuffling of the card to a minimum as it is difficult to get to on the 8320.

  • Simple voice recorder/save for curve 8320?

Can anyone recommend a simple voice recorder for the curve 8320 where I can record voice notes and save them directly to my phone instead of emailing/mms'n them using the built in send voice note feature on the phone?  I have tried using handango and their software sucks, stuff doesn't work and I tried the vr+ voice recorder program they have and don't like it, I just want something simple.
    Does it exist?

soon, a Handheld OS version 4.5 will be available for your carrier (if you're at AT&T it already is). Inside it there will be a video mode : you'll be able to take pictures like today, and also 3GP videos.
If you want, you can install it from AT&T and delete the vendor.xml file on your PC before launching the Desktop Manager to upload the OS on your Blackberry.
Apart from that, I can't install applications on my Blackberry so I lag a bit about available wonders other people can install on their Curve.

  • Recommend bluetooth headset for Curve 8320?

I've been using a Motorola H605 that I bought when I had a RAZR and the reception seems to be very poor with the BBC (lots of static and clicking noises).  I also had the problem when I used the headset with my iPhone a few months ago.  Can anyone recommend a good brand of headsets that work exceptionally well with the BBC?
    Thanks!

I use a Plantronics Voyager 520 w/BB Curve 8320 (T-Mobile). Sound quality exceptional on both ends (mine and call receiver-no complaints). Easy to use (single button operation for call answer/end/volume/voice dialing/power on-off). Great battery life! Highly recommended from an actual user (me). Found it at Buy.com $44/free shipping (when I bought it in April---probably even cheaper now). Also, as my first BT device I found setup extremely easy......had it operational in 5 minutes out-of-the-box! Don't know where I'd be without it!
    Hope I have helped!

  • MicroSD Cards for Curve 8320?!

Where can I find cheap microsd cards for the Curve 8320?!

    Check http://www.amazon.com as well.
Mind you don't go for the cheap media cards...you should also consider quality vendors as well. Because the performance of the device you should have a quality SD card in your device.

  • Change of owner for curve 8320

I received a Blackberry Curve 8320 from my daughter when she decided to go to an I-phone. I have set up an account with Rogers Communications, and on-line I have change the ownership of the phone in Blackberry Protect website.
I cannot manage to get through to the Protect site with the phone (message keeps saying the sites not available) so I can't change the information on the phone. As a result I can't set up my e-mail account, because I keep getting a message that it can't connect to the site, even though I have successfully got the WiFi working.
How do I solve this problem?????

  • Best Browser for Curve 8320

Hi guys, I'm running system software 4.2.2 on my Berry.  Installed Opera Mini 4.1 and it worked.  Problem is, it's no faster or maybe even slower than the Berrys Browser.  I was wondering 2 things.  If I upgraded to 4.5 would that make browsing faster or is there a faster browser out there. Please let me know.
    Vince

those are your only two choices just now, the normal bb browser and Opera Mini.
Upgrading could make your BB feel more snappy.

  • Curve 8320 corrupts OS periodically and then cannot boot (blinking LED only)

I have a T-Mobile BB Curve 8320 that I've had for about 9 months, and I have what appears to be a recurring problem.
Three times now, the phone has corrupted its OS, and it will not boot. Each time it does it, the symptoms are first the phone is non responsive, and just shows the spinning hourglass cursor. The last time it did it while in the Mail app, which is the one I use almost exclusively. The phone appears to lock up, showing the wait cursor indefinitely. This time I waited a half hour, and it was clear that it wasn't coming back. So I pushed the power button, and it shut down the phone. But then when I tried to turn it back on, the screen never came up, and it just blinked the red LED "forever." (It was about 18-20 hours before I got around to trying to reload it.)  The first time this happened was when the phone was running the OS version it shipped with, which I think was 4.3, but I don't recall. But now it has done it twice while running 4.5.0.81, which is the OS distribution T-Mobile makes available for the Curve.
The first two times it did it, I used the application loader to wipe the device and reload the OS. When in this state, BB desktop manager doesn't see the device since it can't boot. But if you click through to the application loader, you can get it to load. (Or you can run the application loader outside of BB desktop manager)
This time, the application loader started up, offered the choice of what to load, and then proceeded into the next phases. Erasing the device succeeds, as does the next phase where it loads the OS. But then it gets to where it is loading application modules, with a progress bar for each module and one for the overall progress. It got halfway through the overall progress, and failed with an "unspecified error", suggesting to try again. I tried it three times, and it failed the same way each time.
After calling T-Mobile, they bounced me over to RIM, and the first guy had me go through the app loader again with the same result. When he started pursuing USB connectivity issues, I asked to speak to someone else. (There are other devices on this system, both mass storage and input, and none of them ever show connectivity issues. )
The second tech had me rerun the application loader, but this time only select the core OS, leaving out all the apps. This succeeded, and then he had me rerun it, loading the rest of the applications. This also succeeded.
But the problem I still have is this. There is no explanation why the phone corrupts itself every couple of months, or why loading the OS and the applications in one step failed to work _repeatedly_.  I believe the device has a bad memory address, and the two step OS load simply danced around it. And it is that which is causing the phone to corrupt its own OS to the point that it cannot boot.
The tech tried to pass of the corruption due to loading third party applications, and while I can accept that a rogue application can corrupt memory locations that it has the ability to write to, I don't know if the BB OS/device uses any form of protected memory, or if apps are essentially unrestrained. The only third party applications I load on this are the Google app, with Gmail, and Opera Mini.
To be honest, if the BB OS is that fragile that I can't even load these two applications on it, I'll be trading it for a different email capable phone.
Anyway, I'm looking to find if anyone else has a phone that repeatedly gets corrupted so it can't boot, and requires a complete reload. Also, is there anyway to test the memory on the phone? I'm going to call T-Mobile back and try to get them to swap my phone, because I can't afford to spend three hours on the phone with tech support every couple of months when my phone dies.
    thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Our cases sound a bit different. I seldom use Desktop Manager, as I sync through BES. I do use it for backup though.
But over the time my phone corrupting itself has happened, I've upgraded from BB OS 4.3 to 4.5, which required an update to Desktop Manager, and following that I upgraded to a new computer. So I've changed computers, BB Desktop software, and BB OS software, and the problem has happened across all of those changes.
You should have been able to restore the OS even if it was corrupt. Desktop Manager won't recognize the device if it won't boot, but application loader will still find it. The first two times I did it, I used instructions basically like this: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry?page=4
But since then I've found I can just access application loader via BB Desktop Manager and do the same thing. I did notice when my OS reload kept failing this last time, that using application loader directly showed more of the failure message. It still wasn't anything useful, but when I reran the reload via Desktop Manager, I recognized the error was the same, but noted that I didn't see all of the output of the standalone application loader.

  • Curve 8320 Greek language

    Hello there ,
    i want to ask
if somebody knows which firmware (os) must be placed on curve 8320 to support Greek language
    (read and write)
    Thanks in advance.

Everything on the topic is in that KB...there is an extensive table within which says exactly what will and will not exist in each OS version. You need to find the one that correlates to your services (e.g., EDGE versus CDMA, etc.) to find out if what you desire even exists. But that KB is the authoritative source for information.
Of course, after you discover which package you need, you must install that specific package to your BB (and, if the package comes from a different carrier, use the trick of deleting the VENDOR.XML files) as well as be sure to install the specific language and components (there often are at least 2 sections to select, in the AppLoader screen) to your BB.
I cannot tell exactly where you are in any of that process, so it is difficult for me to provide specific advice to you. But, from the KB, you would need to be selecting either the "Multi Language" or "All Languages" packages, as well as checking in the table for what to expect from any particular version level/carrier capability intersection (in the table). I admit that the table is difficult to read...it formats poorly in the KB...but the information is there.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How can I transfer all my data from my Pearl to my new Curve 8320?

Help! I have a Mac and have downloaded every bit of software/manual/information/help that I can find and still can't figure out how to transfer all my data from my dying Pearl 8100 to my new Curve 8320. Any suggestions?

    Hi Vanessa,
There are two ways to solve your problem.
    1) Configure the birthday and anniversary events you have created for last year so that they repeat every year on the same date.
    2) Enter the birthdays in your Address Book for the corresponding contacts — create the contacts if you don't have them in your Address Book yet — and then tell iCal to display the birthday calendar.
    Hope this helps

Wireless carriers disfavour that but you can install device os for your device model but from another wireless carrier.
Check this link: Blackberry OS FAQ
Find a carrier who provides device OS with asian language support download OS package and install on desktop computer.
After that delete Vendor.xml from installed files.
Connect your device to desktop computer and run BB Desktop Manager/App Loader to update the device OS.
Do not forget to backup all your sensitive data before updating the device OS.
