ITunes causing internet failure

Everytime I open itunes, it is causing my internet connection to fail. The last successful thing I did with iTunes was download the latest upgrade, which I think is 7.1 or close to it. The first time I was able to reboot my PC and the internet came back on, now I cannot get it to work. I have high speed by phone, connected to a router to my computer. I recently had my computer rebuilt, and it was working perfectly.

    I succesfully installed the update 8.0.1 of iTunes (previous version: 8.0).
    (I work with a Winods Xp Sp3 with all updates installed)
    But the update caused my internet connection to crash.
    I rebooted my system and used 'system recovery' (utility of Windows Xp) of 2 days ago.
    This way, the update of iTunes was uninstalled. But since I already opened my 8.0.1 version of iTunes once (before rebooting), he updated my library. I couldn't open the previous version 8.0 since my library was already changed/updated with the 8.0.1 version.
    So now I can't instal the 8.0.1 version or I have no internet connection, and my 8.0 version will not open since he can interpretate my library.
    Does anyone have an idea about fixing this?
    Or does anyone of apple now what to do best?

    In your iTunes folder should be a folder labeled 'Previous ....' - in there you will find a copy of your previous iTunes library file - the one from iTunes 7.x before the upgrade to iTunes 8. Replace your Library file with that and see what happens.
    To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the ipod - key the keys down until the iPod is listed under the Devices list in iTunes.
    To your second question - yes you can back load load the tunes from your iPod back to the Mac - but you need some software to do this:

  • Firewire external drive causes internet failure on iMac 2.8 GHz

    I am connected to the internet via wireless connection, which shows a strong signal. When I connect my external Lacie HD, I receive a failure notice when when I open any browser. Signal strength is still strong, but the network, internet and logon fails. I have reset and purged the caches, etc, but no luck. Creating a new connection does not help either. The one sure fix: eject the HD, disconnect it, and open the browser again. Bingo; I'm on. What gives? Anyone have an idea why or what would cause this? It took a while to make the association, but the drive is the culprit undoubtedly.

    Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
    If the drive has an external power supply brick those have been known to go bad. it is hard to diagnose because the blue light comes on and the drive sounds like it is working.
    When the supply goes bad it causes all kinds f problems. This is the first time I have heard of this symptom though I still believe this may be your culprit.
    If the drive is under warranty LaCie will replace the supply at no charge. If it is out of warranty you can purchase a supply directly from them for around $20.

  • ITunes video download failure

    I purchased a music video last night but during the download there was an internet failure. I could continue the download once connected again but the video is now corrupt and when I open it it crashes iTunes. Can I delete the download & download it again at no cost?

    iCloud storage has nothing to do with downloading a movie to the iPad because it is local storage that you need - space on the iPad itself - not in iCloud. So why you got this message makes no sense.
    You could try deleting apps or other TV shows or videos to make room to finish the download - or if you want a refund - even though all sales are final according to the terms of the iTunes Store - you can request one from iTunes Store Support and see if they will oblige.

  • A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer (IE9) to close and reopen the tab

    I have IE9 (using 32-bit version) installed on a relatively new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Up until last weekend IE9 worked fine and Flash Player worked fine too.
    At the weekend a webpage asked for Flash Player to be updated - which I did. Ever since then whenever I go to a webpage needing Flash Player I get the message "A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab". This happens twice and then an IE9 error page.
    I have read the discussions in here about the problems with Flash Player 10.3 and have tried the various solutions. I have updated to 10.3.181.16 having tried 15 and 14 previously. Same problem.
    I have reset IE9. Same problem.
    I have disabled all add-ons which stops the problem. If I enable just the Flash Player add-on then the problem recurs. Since there are so many webpages that use Flash I do not want to run my browser without this add-on running.
    If I enable the add-on and run IE9 using software rendering instead of GPU rendering then I don't get the problem. However, this isn't exactly making the best use of the resources on my laptop.
    This may well all be related to the 10.3 problems but no one seems to have mentioned having a problem with tabs closing and reopening so I thought I would post on here to check.
    Any suggestions for how to solve this (other than using software rendering)?

    I think, however, you misunderstand the problem. IE9 does not reopen the tabs on just one website - it is doing this on every website that needs Flash Player. Therefore, running in Compatibility mode is not an option. In fact, because IE9 reopens the tabs so quickly and then ends up with an error page, I cannot even click the Compatibility button anyway.
    I could use ActiveX filtering - true. All that this means is that Flash does not play on any of the websites. When I want to re-enable ActiveX for a particular website where I need to see the Flash Player item, this just triggers the error.
    This problem also happened on .14, .15 and well as the current .16 version. It did not happen with the previous version of Flash Player that I had on the system (version 10.2 I think).
    The fact is that either Flash Player or IE9 or both is/are broken. The two choices I am still left with are:
    1. Use software rendering (which contradicts the latest advertisements for IE9 about unleashing the power of IE)
    2. Use another browser - I have no problems with either Firefox or Chrome

    There are few  below reason for the error log.
    1.  for the PO invoice already generated -  (its right if already invoice generated. should not happen again)
    2.  In  MIGO,  entire  quantity has been reversed  and also invoice generated with zero value - ( its right , should not happen invoice again )
    3. Particular PO line item deleted -  (its right if the PO line item deleted. ERS settlement not require)
    For the all above reason, the update error occurs.  But the mean time  the program  "RMMR1MRS"  should not through the update error log. 
    Note: The job was not terminated due to this update error and also no harm because of the error log
    can you please help on this update failure why it occurs.

    Your credit card info, billing address must be the same country as the iTunes store country you registering.
    For example, you can’t have a credit card from a U.S. bank with  a U.S. billing address registered in the iTunes store for China.
    I tried to change my payment information too, but it happened the same, I can change the information but when I get to the state part, it only shows the other country states
    Remove all payment info and save it.
    Then change the iTunes store country to U.S., add a U.S. credit card with a U.S. billing address.
    As previously suggested, if this does not work, contact iTunes store support.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    When you get it all working make a backup!

    You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
    Your router may not have given your iPhone a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
    Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
    If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

    I'm having the same problem, except I'm on a HP Pavilion 6835. Since downloading 8.1.2 I can't open pdf files. Or the program itself from my desktop. Someone please help! I've posted about this subject on other discussions and no help is coming. How do we get a previous version or will this be fixed???

    Before you go to the effort to downgrade, go to the small icon with the arrow at the extreme upper left and select "Show Menu Bar":
    Then from the View menu select "Show Sidebar" and "Show Status Bar". That may alleviate some if not all your complaints. If not, you can download iTunes 10.7 here:

    doublechecking something before proceeding ... are any boxes ticked in the Compatibility tab for your QuickTime?
    (i've seen that message produced when some of the Display Settings boxes in there are ticked, not just the compatibility mode one.)

    But I'm a .NET developer and I listen to iTunes while programming.
    Yesterday I got a weird problem: everytime I tried to insert a char on a textbox in a winform while in debug mode the Debugger Assistant complaining about some strange dll loading in the managed app domain.
    I wrote a post with a detailed explanation of the problem, also linking what the debugger team at MS discovered about the problem:
    "We noticed that iTunesKeyboardCompatibility.dll is causing the LoaderLock MDA to fire. The most likely reason is that the DLL entry point for this DLL is doing some non-trivial work which causes managed code to run."

    I also think the problem is only related to Vista and not XP, but not really sure.

    Custom Intel based Generic PC   Windows XP Pro   750GB NAS Storage, DVDRW DL, 5th Gen 80GB iPod, 2nd Gen 8GB Nano (Both Black)
    I'm running a dual boot with WinXP Pro SP2 as the primary OS, Vista RC1 on separate partition. I had Vista Ultimate (RC1) Release Candidate 1, a pre-release version of Vista up and running with iTunes version 7.1.1. Updating My Library, when system crashed and trashed my array.
    I was running 2 400GB WD's when my RAID 1 erred. The array corrupted and after limping through several array rebuilds and Windows repairs, Win XP finally died and was unrecoverable.
    I originally suspected an issue with Vista & iTunes, especially since I was running a pre-release version of Vista then I remembered reading a recent WD Support issue about some newer WD SATA Gen 2 drives failing in RAID arrays.
    To make a long story short, thank God for my back-up NAS Drives, I lost my array. Traced the problem to a Raid compatibility issue with the WD drives running in full SATA ATA Gen 2 transfer rate mode and the Intel ICHR8 SATA RAID Controller. They don't play nice together when stressed with large file transfers. Replaced WD's with two Seagate 750's in RAID 1, running full SATA Gen 2 mode and have had no problems since.
    Check out WD's Support forums, if you have newer WD's I'll bet it's a SATA RAID / Drive issue more than iTunes and Vista.
