  • Best way to  setup 2 iPods, 1 MacBook, 1 iTunes store account?

I just got a iPod Nano (2nd Gen) for Christmas. My wife has a MacBook and a 30GB iPod Video as well as the iTunes account. We've been sharing her iPod but now she says I've got to get my stuff off since I've got my own. We have alot of CDs loaded into iTunes that we both like and also some stuff that only one of us likes (CDs, podcast, etc.). I want to just use her MacBook and iTunes Store account to manage my iPod (until we can afford to me a mac) but I'm not sure how's the best way to do that. I have my own user setup on the Macbook but don't have any access to the music at this time.
    Suggestions?

There are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above which is a little out of date:
Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate iTunes Music folders and libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that any or all of iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library:
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Mac
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Another option when using a single library is to set any or all of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. You can read more about playlists at these links:

  • Is it possible to have more than one iTunes store account on one computer?

    Hi everyone,
We have a MacBook, one iTunes store account, and four iPod Touch devices. We usually redeem iTunes gift cards for purchases instead of using our credit card. Once in a while we give our children an iTunes gift card, but then the card value goes into the one account and everyone has to keep track of their amounts and purchases. Is it possible to set up multiple accounts so everyone can redeem their own gift cards from their individual accounts? I see that iTunes will let me set up an "allowance" account for each child, but that money would be charged to the credit card. I prefer to use the iTunes gift cards as a way to "pay as we go" rather than adding to our credit card balance. Thanks.

  • How do you cancel an itunes store account?

You do not get charged anything unless you make a purchase in the iTunes store.
When you first create your account, there is a $1 hold (not a charge) placed on the account, which is used to simply verify the credit card account. This is released, usually within 24 hrs.

  • My itunes store account it still active but its declining my visa account which i have been using for a while to download apps

My itunes store account it still active but its declining my visa account which i have been using for a while to download apps

My experience in this situation has been that's it's related to the visa card, and not necessarily the phone or the iTunes store.  In addition to verifying all of the credentials on the card as entered, I'd also check with you card bank and see if they have declined the charges due to some type of security concerns.  I have a Chase card, and they will decline a charge even though there are sufficient funds available, if the charges meet some security screening criteria.

  • How do I get a hold of someone about a person getting into my iTunes store account and making purchases?

Someone got into my iTunes store account and purchased stuff with this app called Kingdom Conquest. I got charged like $39 and I have no clue who it is and how they got my information. I changed my password and deauthorized all computers. I need help in order to get my money back and possibly tracking down who the other person is.

Frankly I'd be very interested to learn the true statistics concerning such issues.  Unfortunately it's been the experience of many people over a long period of time that these statistics will never be attainable.  Meanwhile there's no reason to believe that such statistics as they relate to Verizon differ in a significant way from those of other service industries.
By and large, the "squeaky wheel" principle is at work with customer complaints and related statistics.  We just aren't programmed to sit down, go online, and write a post about how well everything is going.  OTOH we are rarin' to go when things go south.  Having said that, I note that while we encounter many complaints on these boards that are apparently justified, many others merely reflect a "rant" mentality.  This situation has been discussed in detail here many times, it is not subject to solution, and it will remain a factor in the future.
The road to success with service issues is similar to the road used to get anything else accomplished.  Ask nicely, ask succinctly, and listen more than talk.

  • Should we share itunes store account if we use home sharing?

Right now, my children and I share an itunes store account, but it is getting hard to manage their itunes gift cards this way. Should I just bite the bullet and have them each get their own account? How will this affect home sharing? Do we just have to authorize multiple itunes store accounts on all the computers or does that even matter now that the content is no longer copy-protected. I only have some copy-protected items on the one original account and it is quite a bit of money to upgrade them so I would rather not do that. How would this work with syncing devices?

No home sharing does not delete anything.  It does exactly what it says it does, it shares your music library with others and vise versa.  I use it all the time in my home, and works perfectly.  All it does is wirelessly adds music to your music library that you are able to play.  Do you need help setting up iTunes Home Sharing?
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with,
    Cheers,

  • TS1368 How can I enable my iTunes Store account ?

I need to enable my iTunes Store account , how can I do that ?

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • How do I delete an iTunes store account?

I would like to delete a duplicate iTunes store account.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

I inadvertently started two iTunes accounts.  I don't want two iTunes accounts.  The older, incorrect iTunes account has my correct email address associated with it.  Therefore, the newer, correct, preferable account CAN'T use this email address.
If I can just delete the older account, then I can use the new account.  Get it?

  • How many different Apple TVs can I share one iTunes Store account with?

I currently have one AppleTV at my home, and one at my mothers home. We both share the same iTunes Store account, therefore we share the movies that each other purchase. I am interested in getting my father and my aunt and Apple TV as well, I want them to also be able to use my iTunes Store account. That way, if say my father and I both want to watch the same movie, we can split the cost.
I also currently own an iPhone, and an iPad. I'm going to be getting my mother and father iPads as well. I want them to be able to use my iTunes Store account on those devices as well, and be able to stream movies on them.
I know it says that your iTunes Store account can only be associated with 10 devices, but I'm wondering where Apple TVs fit into that stance. It's probably a stupid question, but I was just curious if the fact that it is iCloud changes anything.
Essentially, I'm wondering if four Apple TVs, three iPads, one iPhone, and my one desktop computer can all stream my iCloud movie content, simultaneously. I doubt there will ever be more than two or three going simultaneously, but I just want to know the limitations before I buy these gifts for my family members and run into an unpleasant surprise.
    Thank you for your time,
    Charles

as many as you can other computers with itunes accessing the shared ituned lib
likely the limitation is the network bandwidth more then number of connected devices

    Hi Michael,
Yes it is now resolved but not after I send iTunes a request for help and explaining the problem.  They send a first reply explaining how I needed to verify my account and gave me the link to do that.  You and I know that this did not help, so I replied telling them that this was not working and iTunes did the reset for me.
You may want to open a help ticket with iTunes help.  That is the only way it works.

  • How to get Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information I want to create a Paid Books Account use apple ID

I was given this address from the Apple customer support team.
I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

    Hi Lrwill,
If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?
    Cheers,

  • Can I use 2 different countries alternatively in one iTunes Store account?

Thank you very much in finding time to read (and possibly answer) this query of mine. My iTunes Store account is Philippine-based (even though I live in Dubai right now) ever since I had one and most of my apps we're purchased in that store. However, since a there are a lot of apps and most especially eBooks which I could only get from the US iTunes Store, I am planning to alternatively change the country of my account from Philippines to US and vice versa whenever I need to update apps on a specific store. But my default country would still be in the Philippine iTunes Store. Is that possible? Can I still read my purchased eBooks (from the US iTunes Store) for my iBooks app even if I revert back to the Philippine iTunes Store? Because the eBook selection for the Philippine iBookstore *****! It doesn't offer popular titles or new ones for people to read. Anyway, I've got my auntie's US address for me to be able to make a US iTunes Store account and I'll be using a iTunes gift card for my purchases since I don''t have a US-based credit/debit card with me.
I'd be so grateful to anybody who could give me specific answers to my specific questions on this post.
    Thanks in advance!
    - STEPHEN, 24, DUBAI, UAE

It is illegal to access an iTunes Store in one country from another country. I know what you are doing, so I'm informing you that doing so is a violation of law.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."
From here >  The Complete Guide to Using the iTunes Store | iLounge Article
Billing policy is the same for the iTunes and Mac App Stores.

  • Can multiple iTunes Store accounts be linked to one iTunes Library

Hi there! I'm having trouble getting a clear answer to this question. If I'm being confusing, forgive me. We are a family of three with two iPod Touches and one older iPod. We recently purchased a new iMac and I migrated our common iTunes Library to the Mac. We won't be using to PC anymore. There are three separate accounts on the Mac but all of them point to the same iTunes Library.
Up until now, we have been using my Apple ID/iTunes Store account for all purchases. I would like to set up a separate iTunes store account for my daughter so she can use all the gift cards she gets to make her own purchases. *If I give her a separate iTunes Store account, can whatever she purchases go into our common library?* I don't want to her to lose access to all the apps and music we have already accumulated.
If both accounts can download content to the same library, can I expect any problems when I sync the different iPods? All of them are set up to sync manually so that we can choose which music playlists, movies and apps go to which device. Will my daughter have to sync her iPod twice -- logging each iTunes store account once -- to get all her content? Are there problems with updating apps?
Sorry this is so long! I keep getting the same answer from an Apple tech via e-mail but it doesn't address the exact points of my concerns! Thanks for any help you can provide.

We have several macs, several ipods, a couple of iphones, several itunes store accounts. So far no problem. You might have to share passwords if you want to share content. I think iStore accounts can only be used on up to 5 computers. We have 7, so have to be a little careful about that. I don't think there is a limit on how many iDevices can be used with one account. I also don't think there is a limit on how many accounts can be used on a single computer (might be wrong about that). You have to be logged into the iStore to download content, and your computer has to be registered with the account to use the content, but once it is on, and registered, syncing to an iPod is not a problem (you do not have to login in again for each account the content was purchased from). I'm just glad I only have two kids, and one wife - things could get trickier in a big family with . . .
