When i switched credit card numbers, iTunes charged £1.58 to my account. I have text alerts... weird!

I owe 27 dollars on itunes and i got a 25 dollar itunes card if i were to update my account with my new credit card would the 27 dollars be deducted from my credit card or would the itunes gift card pay for the 25 and my card would pay for the $2 left.
Generaly, if you have an iTunes card and a valid credit card, you have the option of charging your purchases to eiher one or the other? By default, it goes to your iTunes card, but you can override that.

I want to switch stores from Japan to USA. I used to have an iTunes card, and there's 15 YEN left in my account, how can I get rid of that so I can start purchasing in the US store using my new credit card?

yeah, I just got this new credit card that I'm trying to use for buying music, but when I go to switch out the info from my old expired card for this one on itunes, in the account billing section, it's refusing to accept the security code/numbers. Even though I know that I'm typing them in right cause I have the dang card right in front of me! *sighs, frustrated* I'm using a windows pc with xp professional service pack 2 running on the latest upgrades for that system to access itunes. If anybody can help me out here I would really be truly grateful.

Ravenna182The card information must exactly match the issuing bank's billing records precisely. Often this is not a discrepancy with the security code, but an address or ZIP code that is not an exact match.

Hi apple, I have currently got a visa $50 gift card. I put it on my iTunes account I have currently ran out of funds on the card. Now even when I try to download free apps or even update, it says it requires a new credit card. Is there a way around this

If you have a credit card on your account then it needs to be valid. Have you tried removing it from yoru account ? On your iPad try tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store on iOS 6+) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. -

Shredded old credit card because it expired. It was the card used for iTunes purchases. Cannot add new credit card info without first inputing security code from old card. Any suggestions how to remove the card without the code? Or perhaps add the new card and make it default payment method?

e.g. if currently logged into an account then log of it, then find a free app in the store, click on its free 'price', and you should then be able to create a new account during the 'buying' process and get 'none' as an option on the payments screen -

I don't know where you updated this information, but if you didn't do it directly on the iPad, try updating the card on the iPad itself.
Settings>iTunes & App Store. Tap on your Apple ID. Tap on View Apple ID. Enter your password. Tap on Pyme t Information. In the next window, make sure that the new credit card in showing and that all associated information is correct, check the billing address, the security code and the expiration date. Save any changes that you make.
Then try to make another purchase. -

You can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View My Apple Id menu option, and on the screen that you are taken to there should be a link for payment information. You might also be able to do it on your iPhone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and viewing your account

Sound like they did what is called an express replacment. What apple does is they put a hold on your Credit Card for the amount of the cord because they are sending you the cord first. Then, once you receive the new cord in about 2-3 days, you'll put the defective cord in the box and ship it back out and when they receieve the defective one, they'll be able to remove that hold from you card.
I believe the reason behind the hold on your card is incase you don't return your defective one to them so they can find out the cause of the issue.
An Apple Retail Store could swap them out for you in store incase you happen to be near one. This requires no hold.

have exactly the same problem. i use virtual visa cards (mbnet.pt), issued by my bank (and that are tied to my bank account), and now itunes is also saying that i cannot add more cards. contaced costumer support, and they said the same, to go and buy gift cards (even though they're not sold in my country) or make a new account (losing all my previously purchades apps). So now basically im left with an account that cant buy stuff.
this is beyond crazy. ive been told by my friends that they thought that the limit was 5 cards every 30 days, but now costumer support says its forever. what?
also, im pretty sure that i only changed card 3 times the last month, and +1 time a couple of months before.
man, talk about a crazy limitation. i too dont know what to do now. one thing im sure, and that is i will never again buy anything from apple again if this doesnt get solved the "good" way. man, i just want them to AT LEAST allow me to add a "clickandbuy" account, but all i get is an error saying that ive added to many cards. -

Basically I had to get a new credit card and I am trying to put in the new card number and itunes keeps telling to contact itunes support.
Well check to see if your credit card info is correct because valid credit card info is still required even if you are dowloading free apps
