Itunes charges money

Greetings. I downloaded the icon pop brand(Free Application) from the App Store, but the store required me to re-enter the 3 digit security code from my credit card. After i entered the security code...i received a text message from my local bank, and it informs me that I have been charged for OMR 3.927
(That's USD 10.20) from APPLE iTUNES. Why APPLE iTUNES charges me this amount of money, despite that the app is free? Please help.

Hello there, Binks.
You are correct in your expectations for how you should be billed when purchasing content in iTunes as mentioned in this Knowledge Base article:
How iTunes Store purchases are billed - Apple Support
Which payment methods will be used first?
When you make a purchase, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits. Your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
Free song credits are redeemed first.
If you have no free song credits, then your gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance.
If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the songs you buy.
When you buy an album on the iTunes Store:
Gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used first.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Free song credits can't be used for album purchases.
If you have no gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the albums you buy.
If the issue persists, you may want to report your issue using the information found in this article:
Report a problem with an item purchased from the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store - Apple Support
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro.

  • TS1424 Why is iTunes charging money to my account

I am trying to download a song to my iPhone 4 and it's saying I can't because iTunes is charging me more then what's on my card. Is it because I tried downloading the same song more then once? How do I stop them from taking that money off my card becausei didn't even get to download anything to my music...?

You will have to pay the owed amount with a valid card that has money on it. Once that is done, change the card to none and then it will use your store credit on future purchases.

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for a refund. If a credit card got charged, you can also contact your bank and dispute it.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you are not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Were you buying content for yourself or gifting to another account ? If you were gifting content or an amount then that can only be done via credit card). If you weren't then you will need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • ITunes Charged me 9 times for 1 purchase and Support has not resolved it

iTunes charged me 9 times for a single transaction and I'm getting no where in getting it resolved.
Nov 21, 2005: Purchased Season 2 of Lost (videos) for $13.93
Nov 21-22 2005: Was charged over and over again, totaling 9 times for the single purchase
Nov 23: 2005: Initial contact to iTunes support; they tell me this is normal that small charges may be applied to your account as 'authorization requests' Of course, these weren't normal or small charges it was billing error that charged me 9 times for a single purchase.
After contacting them again to reiterate the fact that I was charged 9 times for the purchase, my mail is finally read and an acknowledgments is made that something went wrong. They tell me "We have investigated and resolved the issue you reported. Within 72 hours, you will receive a refund for the duplicate charges through your Paypal account, coming from the iTunes Music Store."
Nov 29 2005: I wait patiently beyond 72 hours for all the refunds to be put in place; some are completed but 2 charges still show. One at the time is valid, its the purchase I made. ** (Not valid today because the music shows as not payed for anymore) **
I contact Support on the 29th stating all of the refunds have not come in, they tell me there is nothing they can do and that I need to contact Paypal. "The best way to resolve this issue is to contact PayPal and advise them of the situation."
I talk to a senior person at Paypal and they tell me there is nothing they can do, that iTunes must issue the refund. Nice. Circles!
I write back again to iTunes Support stating that I had contact Paypal and they stated that there is nothing they can do regarding the refund, that Paypal needs to resolve the matter. iTunes writes back:
"We're sorry that you have experienced this problem with your PayPal account. Unfortunately, we will not be able to notify you when the matter is resolved. Our engineers are trying to correct the errors, and we hope to enable PayPal payment processing as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience."
OK, they at least acknowledge there is a problem (even if they are blaming it on Paypal) and that they are working on it.
Dec 05 2005: Follow up today to get a status as to when I will be refunded for their error, I get no update, only the following response:
"We apologize in the delays in processing this refund, and we thank you for your patience."
I follow up stating I would like the full amount refunded; it seems the original purchase is listed as not payed for so I can't even watch what I purchased! At this point I just
want to be refunded so I can cancel and delete my iTunes account.
    Whats bad:
    - Can't reject the charge on my cc since it will get rejected back to paypal, not iTunes/Apple (paypal will then likely just close my account and come after me for the money)
    - Can't reject charges in paypal, they don't seem to do that
    - iTunes/Apple support mails are incredibly canned responses and impersonal
    - I'm at the mercy of iTunes/Apple in resolving this; there is no ETA for them to resolve this issue that they created.
    - I've asked to be called regarding this matter and the requests have been ignored
Any advice to get this resolved would be appreciated. It is has been an incredibly frustrating experience; I don't much like the idea being forced to pay off a credit card charge for services that I have not actually received and which were charged to me in error.
    Mac OS X (10.4.3)

This is EXACTLY what happened to me and many others. Tech support returned most of my money but not all of it. Figure that one out! It is clear no music is downloaded (or in queue), it is clear an unknown error message is produced, and it is clear we, the consumer, are still being charged anyway. Will Apple require a credit card from its customers and alienate those that do not wish to use a credit card? Will Apple insult its customers and make silly suggestions such as 'Use an iTunes gift card' in much the same way a forum moderator has already recommended?
I have an idea: Acknowledge the problem publicly (via email, for example) and fix it in a future update. Customers will be more understanding if they know there is a temporary problem and Apple is working hard to fix it. Oh, and return our money, please!

  • ITunes charges to my credit card come up as Singapore when I'm in Australia

I have an Australian iTunes accounts but I've notice in the last month that my credit card statements list my iTunes charges as "iTunes Music Store//SingapSingapore 000".  My iTunes receipts say Australia, and have GST and the ABN - so why is my money going to Singapore?

You have issues that several different companies have to be contacted. As someone said earlier, this forum consists of fellow users helping each other. The company "Apple" does not participate here.
First of all, if there is a problem with Facebook blocking you, then you need to follow up with Facebook - and not Apple. They are not related.
Secondly, if there are unauthorized charges, then you need to file the proper paperwork (or phone call) with your bank or credit card company. And by the way, if you want to avoid getting unauthorized charges like this on something like iTunes (or other online companies, too) - then pick up a Visa/Debit Card from Walmart and just load on it the amount you're wanting to use - and then if someone snags that number they can't charge anything more, since you only loaded the amount you wanted to use.
If you want some assistance on using the iPad, set up an appointment at the "Genius Bar" at an Apple Store to make sure you're using the iPad in a secure manner. That's one place where "Apple" will help you directly. However, keep in mind they won't help you with "Facebook issues" or with "bank issues". You'll have to go to them directly.
The iPad is simply a tool, just like a computer is a tool, or a car is a tool. It's all in "how you use it".

I have the same question. My credit card is charged every few days for varying amounts and I did not purchase anything from iTunes. My credit card bill says Apple ITunes but no other detail is provided to inform me what the charge is for.

  • HT3702 I was charged money for nothing

I was charged money on my bank account and I didn't parches anything from iTunes. I just need apple to refund me

Most of us on these forums, including myself, are fellow users, and it's not 'live chat'.
If you added or changed the credit card details on your account then each time that you do so you are likely to receive a temporary store holding charge to check that the card details are valid and that the card is active - it should disappear within a few days or so
