ITunes Connect EIN, and Tax Info?

I'm close to completing my full featured app however, I want to make it a paid application and I don't exactly understand all the tax stuff. I'm too young to have a credit card so my dad set up an iTunes Connect account, but he's a U.S citizen and pays tax like a good daddy . But all jokes aside, I don't get the EIN thing and neither does he. I do all the programming and stuff, and all the income he'll just give to me. Where can he find an EIN number? He's employed by an NY law firm, and leaves me to the programming. When we're setting up the tax info, do I check the SSN or EIN as the tax pin thing. Also, what is exempt payee and subject to withholding mean? Which one does he check? I need help since my dad and I are completely foreign to this.

Only if he's going to register his law firm as the company legally selling the app. Otherwise he would use his SSN or apply for an EIN as a sole proprietor.
If he has further questions, he really should contact the developer support people.

More a question to Apple here but first make sure you have all your Agreements, Tax and Banking contracts in order, specifically for iOS Paid Applications. Just a thought but again you'll probably have more luck with Apple on this one.

ITunes Connect sole proprietorship tax setup issue

Well, I submitted my issue to iTunes Connect support two full weeks ago. I've only gotten one response over a week ago that confirmed receipt, but I've gotten no assistance, so I'm turning to the community to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
I'm a sole proprietorship doing business under an LLC. I've entered my company information, or "DBA" name, and my personal info into all the appropriate areas of the Developer Center and iTunes Connect.
I was trying to fill out the tax form in iTunes Connect for the "All" - Contracts in Process, and ran into a problem. The W-9 form on the website automatically enters my company/DBA name for 1. Name (as shown on your income tax return), and won't let me change it. Problem is, I'm taxed as an individual so I need to be able to enter my personal name in that field, and the business name in the #2 field below. (I believe there is a warning on there that the "name" information needs to match your tax return exactly, and being an LLC taxed as a sole proprietor, my business name doesn't appear on my tax return.)
Has anyone else run into this? If so, did you simply fill out the form as best you could and your app payments come through fine? Please advise if you have any insight. I really appreciate it.

Yup, which is what I do every year: fill out a regular, personal tax form with my accountant, and they file a Schedule C for my business stuff. And whenever I fill out a W-9 for a contract employer or client, it's always on paper and I can fill out out with my personal name in the "Name" field, which matches who is being taxed via my tax return (me, personally), and I put the LLC name in the "Business name, if different from above" field and all is well.
So you make a good point — my business name does actually appear on my return on Schedule C. Since the Apple form automatically puts the LLC name in the "Name" field with no ability to change it, I could leave the "Business Name" field blank, or put the business name in again, or put my personal name in that field. That doesn't bother me, I guess I was just was trying to avoid submitting it in a way that W-9 "Name" won't match my "Name" on the tax return, and it causing a hold up in getting whatever payments result from the sales of my app.

Itunes asking security and billing info

In NZ, on wifi, using a UK iTunes account. iTunes asking me all kinds of security and billing info n it's never done that before - usually just pwd. Is this normal and, more importantly, is it safe?? I'm definitely receiving the messages thru iTunes so should be ok i guess

possibly to verify age or perhaps the app has "add on" features that cost and they would need to know where to bill these to if you wanted them
I know you can store your billing details, even a credit card number, securely within your iTunes account to prevent you from getting this prompt for future apps

ITunes Connect registration and email confirm?

I'm also having problems registering for an iTunes Connect account (I want to publish to the iBookstore). I use my mac account sign it, go through all the sign up screens (including my Social Security Number) and fail at the last page when I try to submit the application.
I sent this problem to support and they asked for screenshots. I got the following reply:
Thank you for the screenshots and additional information provided in regards to the error you are encountering while attempting to apply for account.
We are currently reviewing your request. You will receive a response within two business days.
That was 12 days ago
I have sent follow up emails and tried to complete the online form again with no joy.
I'm using my itunes account (not used for anything else) and Safari 6.0.5 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.5

Price and Tax info is not update in the Order Repository

I just try to complete a check out flow with all details and submit the order .
But It's not updating few details like Price and Tax information in the Order repository.That's reason my order shows Incomplete status.

How to pass payment terms and tax info from MM to SUS

Hi All,
Payment terms and Tax information is not being passed from MM to SUS ( SRM 5.0) via XI through IDOC . Is it a bug in the system or how to make it possible.

Just to clarify, the above scenario is for when PO is transferred from MM to SUS , then payment terms and condition types are not transferring

ITunes Connection timeouts and account access

Does Anyone know what is going on with iTunes Store today? I have tried to do stuff with App Store, or also just a regular music purchase and the store just times out. Can't even access my account info.....

I am also having the same issue and it would have seem to just started recently. I've attempted to purchase a song and log in, but the loading bar would just hand until I received an error saying the connection has been reset. Any update would be great.

ITunes 10.5 and Get Info facility - no longer working?

Since I installed iTunes 10.5 last week, the Get Info facility for adding details of albums not on Gracenote doesn't work. The screen comes up as before but once you start typing iTunes crashes and quits.
Anyone else got this problem? Anyone solved it?

Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPod touch is currently in recovery mode, and needs to be restored. You can restore your iPod with any computer, then transfer your information back to your iPod once you have access to your backup (whether it was made via iCloud or iTunes).

Tax forms and itunes connect

Developers,
My first app is just about ready for submission and i need fill out tax forms. I have been to the itunes connect website and i have set up a contract for paid applications. I plan to distribute to europe, america, canada and india. I live and pay tax in the UK.
what do i do now? Do i need to fill out tax forms that make me exempt from paying tax in the regions above and declare all of my taxable earnings to the UK Tax office?
And, where do i submit the tax forms to apple? i think i have read that you can submit online at itunes connect, but i can't find a page that allows for this.

I signed up as an individual for "standard developer program".
But when i go to iTunes Connect to edit "Contact Info", it asks for company contact, like:
Senior Management, Finance, Technical, Legal, Promotions.
I'm not working for a company right now. So what should i fill here? Can i fill my own name in all of fields?
And about "Tax Info". I'm an US citizen and i have the SSN, so i got Form W-9 to fill out.
At step 4 of the form, it gives 2 options:
- Exempt Payee
- Subject to Backup Withholding
Which option should i choose?
Please help. These things are new to me.

Think about your question for a second. What is it really asking? Doesn't it look like Apple just wants contact information should they need it for each of those types of concerns? It's obvious that many companies will have a separate department to handle each type of inquiry; I always thought it was just as obvious that sole proprietors take care of everything themselves. Hint, hint.

On that page in iTunes Connect, all the text is in black. All of it, except for the +Download Form W-9 Instructions+ link, which is in bright blue. It's a link to a PDF file, so you don't even need additional software to read it. Read it. If you don't understand it, consult a tax professional - like your tax preparer.

Itunes connect mobile issue

I recently signed up for iTunes connect on my mac book. All the process went smoothly, than I downloaded the itunes connect mobile and upon entering my account info the mobile app does not recognised it. Can one of you help me out with this issue? I do not understand the reason of this...
