ITunes connection log file?

My iPad has been stolen, and I need to find the MAC address to report to my university's IT department. I've tried all sorts of measures, and my latest gambit is to see if iTunes keeps a log of the devices that were connected to it.
I read somewhere that the interface between iTunes and the iDevices is regular TCP/IP, so I was wondering if there is any place where the log file is stored? Perhaps an iTunes log file? Or an access log for the USB interface?

I am troubleshooting an issue with Access Connection ver. 4.42 executing over a Lenovo Thinkpad T61
I enable the log, using the login tab, for the Diagnostic option in the Tools Menu.
The log generated is in html format, but the contents its very dificult to understand.
I think the developer put this for debuging, and they know, what mean every entry ( I think).
someone know the meaning of the entries in the log file AcconAdvanced.html ???
    Thanks in advance.

Hmm..  that is a bit strange...  The 3945 card in the T60 and the 4965 card use the same driver, so you'd think the problem should be showing on both systems.
When you switch to another profile and you get the pop-up window showing progress, at what point of it do you get a red X?
Also, if you click "help me fix this" what error is listing?
I presume this is with v4.42 of AC?  Might want to make sure that also have the latest hotkeys and power management driver if don't have them already...
    Hotkeys:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-68000
    Power Management driver:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4GXPEG
Don't use the driver from Intel's site, Access Connections needs to use the Lenovo driver in order to function properly.
But, you could uninstall Access Connections and the Lenovo version of the driver and download/install the Intel driver with their PROSet application to see if it have the same behavior. That would help say if it's an AC problem or a driver issue.
As for the disconnecting problem, can try changing the Power Management and Roaming Aggressiveness of the card.
Edit each profile under Access Connections and on the Wireless Settings page, go into the Settings for Advanced Configuration.  Set the Power Save Mode to Low (best network performance).
Then open Device Manager and open the properties of the Intel wireless card.  Go to the Advanced tab and change these two settings.
Power Management: Uncheck Use default value and move the slider all the way to the right to Highest.
Roaming Aggressiveness: Uncheck Use default value and move the slider all the way to the left to Lowest.  Click Ok and exit.  Then reboot the system.
You may need to tweak the Aggressive Roaming setting to a left of middle setting if you find yourself not roaming soon enough.
Try that and see if it helps....

  • ITunes log file.. Does one exist?

To cut a long story short, I want to know if there is a log file that tells you everything iTunes does to your iDevice. For example, when you're syncing and you see messages in the status area of iTunes, are these or a more detailed anything recorded somewhere?
Long story and why I want to have access to this information
Some time back during a normal and everyday sync, my Mac decided I didn't need certain apps on my phone anymore and proceeded to delete about 80 or so. I did see the status area at the top of iTunes tell me it was deleting certain apps, and I thought, nah, why would it do that. After the sync, I checked and sure enough it had deleted them. I was a might bit angry and even sent a nasty letter to apple and asked why would iTunes all of a sudden decide I don't need these anymore? They were unable to help, and due to their poor invoicing system where I can't just list everything I've bought from them I send them another email asking for assistance to which this time they could help. Basically they let me redownload all my apps again, but I no longer had access to apps where the developer was no longer in the program, regardless of whether I paid for them or not... I did learn valuable lessons from this and I hope that it never happens again....
But one thing I am really sick of is iTunes (and apple) doing things without telling me what it is they are doing...
Just before I hooked up my phone which is set to NOT automatically sync on connection and it started syncing. Yes, I know this will always happen regardless, but usually it's only momentary, and then stops. But this continued on and on for several minutes. However, according to itunes it wasn't syncing, there was nothing at all in the status area. After about 6-7 minutes, the syncing disappeared, I then proceeded to do a sync, which took several minutes. So what was it doing? It was doing something, but what?
Does iTunes have a log file somewhere that will tell me what it's doing and hence maybe I can workout why it's doing it? Ideally, should iTunes decked it wants to delete records and apps again (I'm CONSTANTLY losing calendar appointments), I may be able to debug why it happens.

You are asking in the wrong forum.

What is the OS version of the PC you are running  and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
. The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version.  We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem.  We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage.  They are all installations where all roles
are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth.  None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever.  The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later.  However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
simply fail.  Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.

Application Loader, unless there's another one I'm not familiar with, is part of the iOS SDK. That have usurped the .zip, or you may have removed that application but your Mac is still holding onto the mapping of Zip files to that application. Select a .zip file in Finder, Get Info, and go to the Open with section. Select Archive Utility and click Change All. That should fix the problem.

    Hi,
Actually I thought this error is appearing in only one of the machines, but when I am figuring out, I found the same error in almost all the client machines.
Though the programs are running fine getting the database connectivity, I am not able to find why it is giving error showing connection through BEQ protocol.
Pls someone tell me why this is happening and how I will find out which protocol it is using.

  • Problems logging on to itunes connect

I was just approved as a developer but cannot log on to Itunes connect. Any one know why?

Give the backend time to migrate your new info across all related systems, etc.
If you still can't access in a day or two, try contacting [email protected] to investigate signup issues.

For some time now, when I connect my iPod to my PC, I'm told my iPod cannot be synced to iTunes because (the file cannot be found).  What gives?

Sounds like the file yo are trying to sync to the iPod is corrupted.
Try syncing only one item that plays in iTunes on the computer.
Also see the following since when you downgrade iTunes you have to reset your iTunes library since the older version can't read the updated version of the library.

  • Excluding connections from certain hosts in log file

Is it possible to exclude connections from certain IP addresses from
getting written into the log on a 5.0 server?
I have monitoring systems that do frequent health checks by binding to
the server and it adds lots of lines to my logs (about 14 MB per day)
that I don't need or care about. I'd like to exclude these connections
    from showing up.

    No, this is not possible
What you can potentially do is to use the log file rotation and do something like a grep -v to supress the lines that you don't want in the rotated file that won't be used anymore by the server.
