ITunes Constantly Hanging

After the most recent ITunes update I am having a constant problem with ITunes hanging after about 30 seconds of opening, almost regardless of what I am doing.
I have reinstalled twice and its still the same.
If I go into preferences it will hang instantly. I can play back songs currently on my library but thats about it.
I want to import a CD and it just keeps hanging!
Anyone had a similar problem after the latest update? Any advice?

How do I uninstall iTunes to then enable me to reinstall to see if that helps?

ITunes constantly hangs my PC (Windows 7, 64 Bit)

Since upgrading to the most recent version of iTunes, my PC will hang very nearly every time I open iTunes. I can't even CTRL-ALT-DEL out of it - the only option is to manually turn off the computer. My computer is a brand-new HP Pavillion D6.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening?
I've tried using iTunes offline & online with the same results, and even closing all other programs before opening iTunes, but it still hangs.
On the rare occasions it doesn't hang, it's incredibly SLOW. I tried to rename a track last night and it took 10 minutes to accept the change.
This is the first problem I've had with iTunes since I got this new laptop - should I just reinstall iTunes?
Any help is appreciated.

I closed down iTunes.
Now, when I turn on my iPod, there is the icon of iTunes with an usb cable towards it.
When I attach it to my computer and turn on iTunes, the message is there that a iPod was stuck in recovery mode and I should retry it.

Problem closing iTunes - iTunes.exe hanging.

I have been having a problem restarting iTunes EXCEPT on a reboot or by manually ending the iTunes.exe process. iTunes.exe is hanging.....it is not using any CPU, but memory usage reduces to about 95,000k, and, of course, I have to end the process before I can restart iTunes.
I finally figured out that this problem occurs only when I have been streaming music through Apple Express. In other words, Apple Express is preventing iTunes from closing.

I experimented around and reformated, and began reinstalling programs one by one as a test, starting first with iTunes. It worked just fine. Low and behold, the next program I installed was my antivirus/spyware program. It recreated the problem I had been having for the last year or so. I tried putting exceptions in the application configuration, but that didn't make any difference. Surprisingly, even stopping/disabling the program didn't work either. Completely uninstalling the program did - meaning there were conflicts between the installed components of the Antivirus/spyware program and the iTunes/Airport Express. Now I've got to go find another spyware/antivirus program. But, the question remains, why should a antivirus/spyware program, disabled at that, ie, stopped, cause iTunes to hang after streaming music through Airport Express??? Strange.

iTunes Match hangs up....on the first Song of 1700 Songs to down/upload. Everytime i start Itunes, it fetch up my informations about my music....but it stops uploading on the first Song of 1700. Where is the Problem?
And where can i get back my money for this useless Addon?

ITunes constantly ignores me

My iTunes constantly ignores me. I tell it to add music, videos, or photoes to the library and it just ignores me. It won't add anything but I can cahgne things around like my playlists. The usual fix is to restart my computer and then it will work once to add whatever I want(but ONLY ONCE), so I would have to put everything I want to add into one folder then tell iTunes to add the folder. It only started doing this recently. Suggestions?

You neeed to be logged in as an adminstrator. Are you?
Right click on your iTunes Music folder and select properties, then the security tab.
You should see a list of users names. Is your user name on it? If so, select it and you should see your permissions. If not, you can add your username.
You need to have full control for your user name.

The first thing you should look for is old out-dated software that interacts with iTunes. You'll find plug-ins for those apps here:
Mac:

Just pull them to the desktop and test again.

ITunes 11 hangs (spinning beach ball) in Mountain Lion

Whenever I open iTunes, it hangs with a spinning beach ball for about three minutes. During this time, Activity Monitor shows iTunes (not responding) using 90–130% of the CPU.
After a few minutes, the beach ball stops and iTunes works fine...for a while. Double clicking on any audio file on my desktop, sets off the spinning beach ball again for another three minutes, at which time iTunes becomes responsive again, but the sound file does not play.
I've tried tossing the iTunes preferences and running Disk Warrior to no avail. I'm running 10.8.2 on my mid-2007 iMac. Any ideas/suggestions for troubleshooting?

Okay, I think I've finally solved my problem. I moved my entire iTunes library from one hard drive to another, then I deleted everything from iTunes (selected all songs, hit delete key, but didn't delete songs from disk) and then reimported them by dragging my Music folder into iTunes.
I'm not sure if moving the songs from one disk to another really helped, but deleting and reinstalling the songs definitely did.
I actually let iTunes perform a "scan for music" to reinstall the tracks, but that never seems to bring in everything. I had to drag in all of my compilation disks and some other miscellaneous tracks. P.I.T.A.
But, the good news is iTunes no longer hangs.

Are you using any VST plug-ins or audio units? Then check, if they are still compatible. You may need to uninstall them.
