ITunes/Contacts Sync Issue

As of this evening, when I dock my iPhone and the sync process begins with iTunes, they sync runs as normal until it begins to sync my contacts. it is here where it "hangs" on syncing contacts. It never completes and keeps displaying "Sync in Progress" on the phone and "Syncing Contacts" in iTunes. I have restarted both the computer and the iPhone as well as have iTunes replace the content on the phone.
Any suggestions? I am running 10.5.1

I'm having exactly the same problem. Everything was working fine this morning and I added 5 e-mail addresses to my contacts. (I just upgraded to OS X 10.5.2 and iTunes 7.6.1.) When I went to sync it with iTunes, I got the "Syncing contacts with iPhone" and it hangs up there. I have recycled the iPhone and re-started the computer. I have checked the box to have all the contacts on the iPhone replaced at the next sync, and still the same problem. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Outlook Shared Contacts Sync Issue

I have a user who adds emails to the "Notes" section of a shared contact. It has worked in the past. She now drags and drops the email into the notes folder, it shows that the email was added, she saves the contact, closes the contact,
then reopens the contact and the information/email that was added is no longer there.
Also, when she opens up the contact, on the top of the window it says "This item was not completely updated during the last server synchronization"
On the bottom of the contact's window it says "Last modified by [email protected] on 11/19/2014" So it doesn't seem to have updated for about 5 months.
The user is on Outlook 2010 - Cached Mode - Windows 7
We use Exchange 2013
We have checked her sync issues folder and see two messages pertaining to this shared contact.

Hi Allen,
Neither are correct. They open a contact in their address book and drag the email into the "Notes" section of the contact. So they do not drag the email into the Notes section of Outlook nor the Contacts section to create a new contact.
There are no errors. I have a screenshot with an example contact card but i can't add it because it says i need to verify my account.. I'm not sure how to do that. I already clicked on the verification email. For example. An email
to me from Bill titled "company announcement" is dragged into the notes section of in Bill's contact card. This is so that i can go to my contacts, click on bill's card, and see emails from him that are important saved inside his contact card.
After dragging the email into this location, I hit save and close the contact card. Usually the email stays there in the notes section but lately when I reopen the contact card, the email that I dropped into the Notes section has disappeared. Other
emails are still in the Notes section but new ones just don't stay.
Just tried doing a Send/Receive All and same issue. User is in cached mode because they have a large mailbox. Can try online mode. Do you know if the Notes section in the contact list has
a size limit?

IOS5/Itunes 5 sync issues - music greyed out, not syncing across

Hello,
I am having issues syncing music from iTunes to my iphone and ipad. I use autofill, but have had the same issue when using the sync all music option. All the files are listed in the music tab under the device, but half are greyed out and unplayable on the device (they are greyed out on the device too). There is a sync icon next to the files, but clicking on it does nothing.... I did a clean restore to ios5 and it copied my apps over, but none of my music, pictures etc. This is really annoying can anyone help?

I have been fighting this problem with both my iPhone, my partner's, and my nephew's. It seems to have something to do with music purchased in iTunes vs. music that is ripped, since all my ripped music transfers fine and stays put.
On the other hand, downloaded content shows up doubled (one black, one grey) when I look at my music through the iTunes, just like that screen cap. As long as there's a "black copy" showing, it plays fine on my iPhone 4s, but I find I have to remove the greyed out copies manually and then manually transfer from my iTunes library or from the purchased option on the phone itself. In other words, if the music on the phone in only greyed out copies, and it's not on the phone, it doesn't transfer manually unless I first delete the greyed out versions. -- And then the greyed out versions magically reappear after it contacts the cloud and backs up.
I also sometimes end up with doubled copies, and my albums don't all sort the way they should -- so for example some Diane Schuur shows up under the artist name, and some shows up under albums. To put it all together I had to make a playlist, which is stupid.
Finally, there are some 46 items it tries to sync everytime I do any wi fi syncing of anything with my phone. I have no idea what that is.
I'm tempted to wipe and let all iTunes content be restored from the iCloud, a process that would require an overnight restore. I'm guessing that might solve the problem, but why should it all be this hard? Does Apple look at these comments, because I notice there are several different threads on this site concerning the music app and the iTunes/syncing issue?

IPhone, Google & iCloud contact syncing issues

Hi everyone,
I'm having some issues getting my contacts synced correctly between my iPhone and Google account. I have searched a few forums looking for an answer for this particular problem and haven't found a solution yet so my apologies if I'm just missing something here.
I have always synced my contacts via my Gmail account. In my Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars section, I have iCloud set up and then Gmail set up through Exchange for Contacts ONLY. If I added a contact on my iPhone, it would always sync directly to my Gmail Contact Manager. I only noticed that there is an issue all of a sudden because I was given an iPad mini as a gift recently and noticed that not all of my contacts synced. I checked my Gmail Contact Manager this seems to be because any of the contacts I have added on my iPhone since probably last December are NOT listed. If I log into iCloud and check my contacts there, the only contact listed is me as I have always only had contacts listed which are from my Google account.
If I go into my Contacts app and hit Groups at the top left, all I see is Gmail/Exchange, Contacts (checked), Gmail/Exchange Global Address List (unchecked - if I try to click this no contacts appear at all), iCloud, All iCloud (checked). If I go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll down to the Contacts section, the Default Account is listed as Gmail/Exchange. I have tried clicking "Import SIM Contacts" to no avail, changing the Default Account and clicking and unclicking Groups.
Where are the contacts I have added since December(ish) being stored? If they're not in my Google contacts nor in iCloud? How can I make them sync to my Google account again? Is there a way to "push"(?) everything to Google that I'm missing?

Best way is to use a 3rd party app managing groups. Easy Group is a free one I have developped.
Launch it, all your groups will automatically appear
Tap on "Edit"
Tap on red cross next to the groups you want to delete

Contact sync issues between iphone 4gS and mac address book

I have a miss match on contacts in my address book and on my iphone.
My iphone has 70+ more contacts and syncing does not over-ride the contents of my address book.
I found a link that told me how to clear the address book, dlete contents, cache settings etc etc etc .
All followed and deleted. Hooked my iphone up and synced with iTunes and same issue, more contacts on my phone than on my mac.
Any ideas?

ITunes Wifi Sync issue

Hi,
I canceled a wifi sync session (pressing the x in the area in which iTunes shows what it is currently syncing to/from my iPhone) and ever since doing so my iPhone is no longer recognised in iTunes.
It doesn't show up on the device list.
Things i tried:
1.     Quit iTunes (Finder > iTunes > Quit iTunes)
2.     Restart computer
          --> also restarted the iPhone before trying again
3.     plugging in the USB cable.
4.     Go to Preferences --> Devices --> option "prevent iPod, iPhone, iPad to sync automatically" isn't checked.
          --> Makes sense, since my iPad is connected and syncing properly. Double checked it anyway.
5.     Searched on Google: not finding anything useful. searched on words like: osx + itunes + wifi sync + not showing
System spec's:
iMac 27" 3,4 GHZ i7, 16GB ddr3, SSD. OSX Lion 10.7.2 installed. iTunes 10.5.2 (11) installed. Latest updates installed, completely updated.
How do i fix this issue ?

You may want to try uninstalling the security software or following along with Apple's article.

"Top Contacts" sync issue

I don't know where I should report, so I decided to do it here
The problem is that contact sync is broken. It tells "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly", but this message is there for a very long time. If you read comments on app's page in Play Market you will see that I'm not alone affected with sync issues
Is there a chance to fix it? Is it server-side problem or is it user-side? Anyway, I really love that widget and I want to use it, but contacts in it are not updated
Did someone solved this?

I will forward this to concerned developer. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Nokia contacts sync issue

I disperatly need to restore my contacts from a previous sync I done on Ovi contacts sync from my phone (N8 with Belle).
contactsui.ovi.com page doesn't load (i need to download on pc the contacts file) and also on the phone it can't connect to service. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Ipod Calendar and Contact Sync Issues?!!!

I have a 3rd generation ipod nano (4GB). It has been working fine since January but it has had trouble in the last month. I noticed about two weeks ago that my ipod nano had no contacts and no calendar events on it. I went into itunes and it was set to sync all contacts and calendars. It just wouldn't sync them. The ipod had over 2GB available free space. Software is all updated.
Unclicking and reclicking the settings didn't work, so I did unset and unplugged, etc etc. Nothing worked.
So I reformatted the ipod completely. That fixed the problem for awhile but not a week later it's started up again. when I go to my ipod it says it can only sync 21 of my contacts because:
"Only limited portion of your contacts could be loaded due to the amount of content on this ipod."
The ipod has 2.5GB available this time! None of the calendars are synced at all. It syncs my music no problem..
So what the heck is going on and what can I do?! I'm out of ideas.

This is a known issue with the current iPod nano firmware. Nothing is going to 'solve' it but an update from Apple. However, it's not nearly as serious as it seems. After you sync your Calendars and Contact (and Notes, they are affected by this issue, too), they often will not appear, but a simple reset will always 'refresh the iPod's memory'. (And you do that by turning the hold switch on and then off, and then holding down the centre button and menu button simultaneously for about 10 seconds until the iPod reboots.)
This is not actually an issue with Contacts or Calendars failing to sync. It's an issue with the iPod failing to recognise that they've been synced. A simple reset always solves it in my case and many others.

Contacts syncing issue

Having recently synced a replacement handset for my iPhone 3GS, only the newest contacts since my last sync have remained on the device (and subsequently the computer - all my old contacts have been wiped). I tried restoring an old Contcacts folder through Time Machine, but having also recently upgraded to Lion, the folder seems to be incongruent with the new operating platform! Help!

I'm having the same problem.
I'm using an iPhone4, iOS version 6.0, OS X Version 10.5.8, and iTunes version 10.
Everything has been fine so far, except I noticed about a week ago that my contacts on my iPhone were not syncing with my Address Book anymore, eventhough the option is selected in iTunes.
They are also not syncing to the iCloud.
I don't know why. It really fustrating because I don't want to have to write them all down incase I loose my phone. (Which has happened before).
Has anyone got any solutions?

Calendar & Contact Syncing issues between Win & Iphone 3G

I have an Iphone 3G and normally sync with my Windows computer at work since 2007 and all was good. Then I synced once with my MAC G4 at home a couple weeks ago, and updated my Itunes and since then I can not get my calendar or my contacts to sync on my Windows computer at work. I have tried restoring, over-writting everything on the phone, etc. But no outlook changes are being carried over to my phone. HELP This is how I track my kids lives, work life, and church meetings and I am having serious issues keeping up. My photos, and music, audiobooks are all syncing perfectly. Thank you!!!

IPhone 5S/iTunes (Win7) sync issue: this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone

I am trying to synch my iPhone 5S and iTunes for the first time since upgrading. I get the following error message: The iPhone ... could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone. To be clear, all I want to do is take the media on my Windows 7 PC and put on my iPhone. When I authorize my PC, I receive a message that the PC is authorized (making 2 of 5 authorized computers).
All of the iTunes purchases were purchased under the same Apple ID, I've never had another Apple ID. Some of the PC media is Amazon mp3 purchases, but this has never been a problem in the past. I have the latest iTunes installed.
I tried to fix the problem doing the following:
1. Authorizing my computer, retrying to sync.
2. Logging into iTunes on my PC, then authorizing the PC, then syncing.
3. Not an Administrator account issue (my login is the Admin account)
4. I turned off user account controls in Win7
5. I removed the SC Info folder in iTunes
Very frustrating, I've been working on this issue for the past several days. After purchasing a 5S, with a high end PC/Win7, and the latest version of iTunes, I shouldn't have to make such an effort to access my purchased content. Please help.

I found the solution in another post. By deleting all my apps, I was able to sync the phone. I hope I don't have to delete all my apps every time I want to sync my phone, but at least now I am able to sync my phone.

Itunes photo syncing issues between laptop/ipad

I'm syncing photos on my laptop to my new ipad2 via itunes and randomly in each folder around 10% of the photos always come out corrupted with horizontal lines or even half the picture missing. Have tried reinstalling itunes etc but still get random corruption issues. Have managed to successfully import the photos if I save them to my camera and import via the camera connection kit but don't want to do that for the thousands of photos I have on my laptop. Any ideas?

I have now managed to find the cause of the problem. All down to a conflict issue between itunes and Zonealarm. The solution is to go into program access in Zonealarm and ensure that the iTunes Photo Processor program is set to NO ENFORCEMENT for trust level. An alternative is to temporarily stop Zonealarm, sync and then turn on Zonealarm back on. If you don't do this, a number of the photos (and it appears to be at random) become corrupted. Hope this helps anyone else running Zonealarm.

ITunes 9 syncing issues

I was trying everything myself, I was googling all around, but couldn't find the answer to my problem. So I came here to ask for help.
Ok here is my problem:
My iTunes doesn't normally sync with my iPod. The thing is, I always manually manage my music and videos with both iPod and iPhone. I download podcasts (subscribe) and iTunes U content. Then upload them to my iPod or iPhone. Listen to them and when I reconnect them to my iTunes library and sync them, my iTunes automatically mark the podcast on the mac as watched. At least this used to be with the older iTunes version. Now after updating to iTunes 9, when i connect my ipod and press sync, iTunes does not recognizes, that I have listened to some of the podcasts, and doesn't mark them as watched.
With iPhone i have another problem. iTunes recognizes the podcast that I have watched, and marks them as it should, but now I can't see my iTunes U content on iPhone. If I put something form iTunes U on my iPhone, and in the iPhone it shows, that there is nothing on there..
So do you have any idea why my iPod and iTunes 9 doesn't sync normally?
I have fresh install of Mac OSX 10.6.1, iTunes 9, newly restored iPod nano 3g 4gb silver with 1.1.3 firmware, iPhone 2g 8gb with 3.0.1 OS.
I wonder if the last.fm app for Mac os has anything to do with it?

I'm having the same issue as far as the iTunes U content goes. I have downloaded several video / audio files. Made sure to select them, right click and choose "Make iPod / iPhone version". After syncing (it is properly set up to sync iTunes U content) nothing shows up. Also, if I try downloading the content from iTunes directly on my phone it downloads, but never shows up anywhere.
I'm trying a restore now. Does anyone have any thoughts?
