ITunes continually trying to access store, won't recognize iPhone
Okay, here is a problem I've been struggling with for a good while.
For the last...six months or so perhaps iTunes has been having an issue both connecting to the Apple Store and recognizing my device (iPhone 4). I have tried every fix that exists on the forum and other message boards (I am on Windows 7 64-bit Home):
Uninstalled and re-installed
Uninstalled and re-installed Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device
As admin did a DNS flush as well as tried the netsh winsock reset
Turned off my firewall and anti-virus, and made sure that each allowed Apple programs access
Made sure that Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device were running and started in services
Did an Autoruns to see if there were conflicting issues with Winsock providers, and there are no weird apps running
And so on. I haven't been able to switch out music on my iPhone in ages, and iTunes takes a good long while to start up every time I run it (even when running as Admin). When I click store it just continually tries to access, and my device isn't even recognizable in the program at all (but I can see it and access the HDD via Windows Explorer, as well and remove photos/etc.)
I honestly don't know what else to try and it is becoming so insanely frustrating not being able to connect my device and run iTunes properly. I know that this sort of thing has been posted before but the fixes that worked in those instances has not worked out for me and I do not know why.
Help please?
Also, in the "Sharing" option in preferences it tells me that Bonjour is disabled, however after re-installing and re-checking Systems Bonjour is indeed turned on and running (apparently).

Updated to iTunes 10.1 and Now Computer Won't Recognize iPhone
I updated to iTunes 10.1 last night after I plugged in my phone and iTunes prompted me to. After doing so, I restarted my computer, plugged my phone back in, and now I get the message "USB Device Not Recognized" and my phone doesn't show up in iTunes. It does, however, charge while plugged in. The computer just doesnt' recognize it. I've followed the Apple page on what to do if there are driver issues. So I've uninstalled iTunes and all the other components, reinstalled, opened Device Manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver from there, have tried to update, but when I do, the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers folder does not exist.
I am running Windows 7, and I have an iPhone 3Gs running iOS4.1.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm out of ideas.
Message was edited by: vandenmor86Well, I figured it out. My sync cable was the problem, apparently. I just used a different sync cable and it magically downloaded the driver with no problem and itunes popped right up. Figures, eh?

Help please? iTunes and my PC (XP SP3) won't recognize my iPod Touch. I aleady tried the Apple trouble site (recharged iPod; checked USB connections; restarted iPod; restarted PC; reinstalled iTunes; ensured no software conflicts)
Finally got it working.. Ok so First read this
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Just start with verifying the Apple Mobile Device Support is up and working, Just follow the steps here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
After Stopping it and Restarting and it is still not reconizing your device Then start uninstalling
Start with: Itunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device.
I had an issue uninstalling Apple Software Update, and was unable to get it off my computer.
But after all that download and reinstall itunes.
After doing all that i was able to get mine to show up in itunes
Hope it helps -
Dear all,
Itune says " To allow access, please respone on your Iphone" but my Iphone has not respone button. How can I do?
ThanksTurn off your phone by pressing and holding the power button and then swipe right to turn it off. Then turn it on and try connecting it to your phone. Make sure both the itunes and your iphones are signed in with the same apple id.

ITunes crashes when trying to access Store while in administrator account
I have been having this problem for the past month at least.
Everytime i try to access the iTunes store it crashes my itunes. This ONLY happens when im logged in as the administrator. Now i generally only have am administrator account because this is my computer for work (i have my own business and im the only one who uses it) It used to work perfectly and one day it didnt work so good... things in the store were missing like images and text. then one day CRASH. and ever since CRASH.
I created a TEST account and when i logged in and activated Itunes it accessed the store no problem.
Does anyone have a clue?
I have uninstalled an reinstalled my itunes... I have all the latest software updates. Its not the proxy server thing that so many have problems with... i don't have a proxy server....i've created a new location .... its not that... i don't have parental activated... its not that. I have backed up all my music.. uninstalled and reinstalled itunes... i have gone thru the plist thing nothing is working.
why does i tunes work in the test account and not the administrator account?
HELP PLEASE! anyone? I have tried calling apple but they hung up on me twice..:(
this forum is all i have to find a solution.
this is the error log i get when i tunes crashes.. i dont know what it means or how to read this thing.

ITunes keeps trying to access Apple Store
My iTunes has suddenly stopped simply playing tunes because it keeps bringing up a message saying it can't access the Store. (I don't have the internet connected because I'm only on dial-up during the day). I don't want my computer automatically trying to access the internet. I just want to listen to my music!
My computer is already authorized to play Store-bought material. The tunes I'm trying to play are legitimately copied from my CD collection. Why is iTunes suddenly insisting I access the STore in order to play my songs?!I am having similar issues since I downloaded the newest version of itunes. On random songs from my library (mostly purchased through itunes) I am asked to authorize the playing of the song!! What the ****, obviously I want to play the song or I wouldn't have clicked on it! I payed for this music and I should be able to listen to it when and how I want, with or without an internet connection.
Someone please help me! I have never had any problems with itunes before, but this one is going to make me crazy! -

Updated itunes now can't access store
Hi, I updated to iTunes 8.2 yesterday & have just tried to access the store which is not happening. I managed to access the home page once. There were no messages to say there is a problem. I'm not very good at computers but hopefully have followed instructions so far.
I ran a diagnostic test on network connectivity which told me the secure link to the store failed.
I followed those directions & still no joy. I am currently using Google Chrome.
Here are the stats.

Thankyou.Thanks Katrina.
I went into Internet options - connections - LAN settings and unticked the Proxy server button. I hope that's what you meant.
Tried itunes & it worked.
For interest sake I went back & ticked it again & itunes still worked but probably a bit slower.
I don't really understand what Proxy server is but would like to know if it's better to have it on or off.
It's been an hour & a half since I last tried the store(when it wasn't working) . Is it possible it was down for a while? -

HT1926 Itunes 12 crashses when accessing stores on Windows 7
Any suggestion how to rectity this crash while accessing stores on windows 7. Itunes 12
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.
You could also try working through

ITunes won't recognize iPhone 5 after I attempted to download iOS 7
I tried to download iOS 7 and I got an error message and iTunes said the update failed. Since that moment, my phone has shown the iTunes logo with the cable, prompting me to plug my phone into my computer and sync it with iTunes. Conveniently enough however, iTunes won't recognize my iPhone when I plug it in, but it will recognize my iPod touch when I plug that in to the computer. I have restarted my computer, reinstalled iTunes numerous times and yet nothing has worked. So essentially I have no ability to restore my phone and no ability access it in any way shape or form.....any help?!
What version of iTunes are you running?

ITunes 8 won't recognize iPhone
I'm experiencing this issue on 2 separate computers.
When I was prompted to install iTunes 8, I downloaded and installed. During the installation, an error box popped up saying that the iPod service wouldn't be installed. Of course, once installed, the iPhone is no longer recognized by iTunes, although it's picked up fine by Windows as a "camera". Wanting to transfer my latest podcasts to my iPhone, I installed iTunes 8 it to my work computer (Win XP instead of Vista I run at home) and had the same issue.
It says that the iPod service is running, but iTunes won't recognize it. And of course, iTunes won't let me roll back to an older version. I've been searching for a resolution to this issue. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling, and no luck. I've found other mentions of this issue, but there never seems to be a resolution for it.
Any help would be appreciated.I'm having the same problem with an iPod touch 32gb. If you go into "Diagnostics" under "help" on the itunes menu bar, and run the "ipod connection test" or something like that, it'll show "failed" and have a "help" button next to it. This takes you to a web page that lists various steps in solving the problem, beginning with reinstalling iTunes 8. It then recommends several other steps including deleting all iTunes files and shutting down all windows services through "msconfig". The final step recommends wiping your drive and reinstalling Windows then reinstalling iTunes 8. I've tried all but the final step to no avail, but I'm guessing since you tried it with a fresh windows install that it may not even work. I'm hoping there is a resolution for this soon. I still have iTunes 7.7 on my laptop, so I'm considering migrating all my stuff to that until there's a fix. I know it's an iTunes 8 issue, because I synced my iPod +right before+ installing it, just fine. iTunes 8 has never recognized my iPod. Apple has left me with the choice of of re-installing Windows (and subsequently, everything else on my computer) or wiping all traces of iTunes 8 (including music libraries) and rebuilding my entire music collection from scratch, including playlists. Awesome. Just fix the stupid program?

Updated 2.2.1 - Now iTunes won't recognize iPhone (and iPhone won't work)
I had this happen last time I did an update too, but that was fixed by going into my control panel and starting my apple mobile device - I checked and this time all is running. I can't use my iPhone and iTunes won't show it's connected even though it is (so can't restore, etc. since it won't recognize the device). I've tried closing out of iTunes and re-connecting the phone - nothing. I'm on PC using 2003 Microsoft software.
Thanks for any insight.Sorry, gave the wrong PC info. I'm on XP Professional, version 2002, service pack 3.

Trying to REGISTER..won't recognize SERIAL #
I just got the Nano & am trying to set it up. I was trying to register it, but it won't recognize the serial #. I made sure I entered it 'case-sensitive'. After numerous tries, it finally asked me for the "part no." instead. It did recognize that & allowed me to continue. Then I tried to register the extended warranty I purchased, which has to be linked to the specific Nano I bought, but, again, it doesn't recognize the serial #, so I can't continue. Has anyone else had a problem like this??, and, if so, what do I do about it?? HELP!!!!! (...and Thank You)
Try reading it from the box instead
Or for those who have a barcode scanner, scan the barcode on the box...
Very convenient way to enter serial numbers, ISBN, DVD/CD EAN codes...

Itunes won't recognize Iphone but device still charges
Today, I had my Iphone 5c replaced after having issues with the software on my previous iphone 5c. I'm trying to put the data that was on my previous phone back onto my new replacement but Itunes won't recognize my device. I have tried getting the data back on my phone using Icloud but the backup data that is for my Iphone can't be selected as the backup data requires software that is ios 7.1 or later (or something like that). I have selected the option of "set up as new iphone" and just downloaded the software update but I don't know how to get back to the screen that shows the icloud backups.
I have also tried all the recommended things for when the device cannot be detected with itunes (ex. reinstalling itunes, restarting apple mobile device support< ect.)
If you can help with how I can get my itunes to recognize my iphone or how i can set up with icloud after selecting "set up as new iphone" that would be greatSet the phone up as a new phone. Then update the iOS to 7.1. After the update is complete restore your phone from your backup.
