ITunes controls hide behind Windows taskbar

I have my Windows taskbar in a locked position on top of my screen, but whenever i maximize iTunes (10,4.080) it 'slides' under the taskbar. This way the control buttons in iTunes are hidden behind the taksbar. Does anyone know how to fix this without having to auto-hide the taskbar?

Same problem here.
I can get a temporary fix if I move the taskbar to the bottom (the 'default' position) and resize the iTunes window a few times. Then I move the taskbar back to the top and then maximize iTunes and it sometimes works.
Needless to say, it shouldn't be necessary to do this kind of thing at all. I never had this silly issue in any previous version of iTunes. Come on Apple, you can do better.

Reader within Firefox 2x hides base of view behind Windows taskbar?

I currently use Firefox 22, but have had this issue since v21. This computer came with Windows 7 Home Premium in an OEM version associated with the system's vendor, CompaQ / H-P.
I have FF set to handle PDF files from external URLs using Adobe Reader XI within Firefox.
Whenever it opens a URL for a PDF, the bottom end of the vertical scroll bar, and the part of the page view near it, are hidden under the Windows 7 taskbar. (note the lower-right corner of the image following)
The hidden-stuff issue can be temporarily fixed by enabling / disabling at least one of the Firefox toolbars, but that would have to be done every ____ time a PDF-file URL is opened.
The only other alternative offered to me so far is using FF's intrinsic PDF.js feature (Preview in Firefox), which makes for a far, far fuzzier view of the PDF file than the Reader-in-FF option. I do NOT want to use Reader (or some alternative thereto) in an external window, as it makes for a longer loading time for the PDF, something which takes even longer using PDF.js / Preview.
It'd be much easier to solve this once I know the real origin of the problem. Is it Reader, Windows, or Firefox?

If you lock the taskbar in 7, it should have the same effect as keeping it on top in XP.

Firefox IS NOT maximized in that view. (this from my WIndows 7 in "Classic mode")
Here's what it looks like maximized (not just expaned to fill the whole screen)
Notice the center switch - it's different when maximized. When FF is Maximized, it CANNOT be moved under the taskbar. Stretched to full screen (but NOT maximized), it can.

JPopupMenu Partially hidden behind Windows Taskbar

I have a JPopupMenu that is made visible when the user clicks an icon in the notification area (aka system tray). On Wndows, the popup is partially hidden by the Task Bar, and I'd like it to be in front. But I can't see any methods in JPopupMenu or its super classes that accomplish this, such as Window.toFront(). However, even that method only ensures the Window is on top of other windows in the JVM, and whether or not it ends up on top of native windows or windows in other JVMs is platform-dependent. But my experience with using Window.toFront() on Windows OS has been positive.
Just to avoid a red herring, there is a problem with Windows, fixed by XP SP3, wherein tooltip menus for icons in the notification area are obscured by the task bar. I'm running XP SP3, however, and popups from the notification area for non-Java apps are shown on top of the task bar.
Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can get the JPopupMenu to display in front of the task bar? I could use JPopupMenu.setLocation() to palce the popup just above the task bar, but that will be visually undesirable.
I'm using the SystemTray class from the JDIC library because my app needs to work with Java 5. Since the popup menu is a jdk class, I'm assuming the problem is not in JDIC, but I'll check that source vector as well.

It seems the problem is indeed with JDIC. [This post|http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=273514&#273514] from the JDIC forum says the problem only occurs when org.jdesktop.jdic.tray.TrayIcon is used with Java 6, not with java.awt.TrayIcon using Java 6, and not with org.jdesktop.jdic.tray.TrayIcon using Java 5 or earlier. So the solution is to detect Java version, and use JDIC classes only for Java version earlier than 6. It's an ugly solution, but unless/until the JDIC code is fixed, I don't think there's any other choice.

How do I hide the Windows (XP HOME) taskbar on the left edge of my screen?

While I am in Firefox; I would like to hide the Windows taskbar on the left hand side of the screen, so that it appears when 'touched' by the cursor.

You can move the taskbar to top, bottom, left or right edge of your monitor as the TonyE and cor-el suggest, when it is not locked (right-click on a blank spot in the task bar; a check mark next to "Lock the taskbar" indicates it is locked; toggle locked to unlocked by clicking on "Lock the taskbar").
You can have the taskbar automatically hide, by right-clicking the "Start" button, click "Properties", click the Taskbar tab, place a check mark (click) "Auto-hide the taskbar" (note, no need to unlock taskbar to change this option). Write the code to hide / show the taskbar in visual basic and then use jni to call it from your java program. Search google to find loads of vb examples of how to do this.

Is it possible to make the document window not to hide behind the palettes?

Is it possible to make the document window not to hide behind the palettes (layers, paths etc) like in CS5? For instance if I want to make a correction in the right part of the image and zoom in, the window expand under the different palettes and I can no longer see the area which I want to correct without change the document window size. I don't want to use the Photoshop application fram because then I can't see stuff in other applications ID, mail an so on.

Generally, you shouldn't need to zoom; you can pre-set the display of message text.
To get straight to the point, you should probably try the https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/ add-on to address issues with the size of the message list font.

ITunes Taskbar Cause Windows Taskbar Missing

When I switched on the iTunes taskbar in WindowsXP, it covered my ordinary Windows taskbar (the part which you see what program is running in the background). Being unable to resize them and make them to fit with each other and coexist, I switched off the iTunes taskbar, hoping to get my Windows taskbar back, unfortunately, it seems to be gone with iTunes taskbar and it is just gone.
Now I have to keep using Alt-Tab to switch between programs, which is a serious problem.
Please help me out or my next avenue of solution may be erasing my current HDD with previous image.

I have a related problem; see this discussion. I've never had the iTunes taskbar turned on, but after playing a video in full screen my tasbar will often disappear--not hidden, genuinely gone. (Note that, unlike alanngli, this is fixed for me after restart; also, the fix the user in the link describes--turning on and off auto-hide--brings the taskbar back. This might help your situation, alanngli. But still it would be nice not to have to keep doing that!)

Fix Facebook like issue - comment window hides behind other objects

On my site htt://cocos-locos.com is a Facebook like widget. When a user clicks on the widget, the comment app hides behind a text box on the page. I tried moving it and no matter where this happens, BUT ONLY ON MY IPAD MINI. It opens in a pop-up window on the computer. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So, when a new file was analyzed and bpm with key values written into 'comment' field, Windows Explorer don't show it.
That field is not a default column. Do you have it checked in Details view? Right-click a column header in Details view or use Alt-V A (apparently) to add columns. Heh. Then there is a different UI depending on how you opened that
dialog. More... for the right-click method Choose columns... for the View, Add columns method. YMMV. Who knew?

Windows Taskbar - iTunes toolbar

Even though I have the iTunes toolbar checked for my taskbar, nothing shows up except for right at start up. Does anyone know what registry entry I would have to edit to make this stay?

This can happen if the iTunes COM interface is not registered. To fix this, follow these steps
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Navigate to where iTunes.exe resides on the hard disk:
\Program Files\iTunes
or
\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
3. Right-click in the Address field at the top of the Windows Explorer window and choose Copy Address.
4. From the Windows Start menu, type cmd in the Search field and press Enter.
XP users will need to choose Run... from the Start menu, type cmd and press Enter
5. Type cd followed by a space (but don't press Enter)
6. Right-click in the window and choose Paste.
7. Press Enter.
8. Type this:
iTunes.exe /regserver
9. Press enter.
10. Open iTunes.
Does this fix it?

Custom hover menu hidding behind controls

hi Gurus,
I have a created a custom hover drop down menu using Dhtml
but this menu hides behind controls like r/3 transactions, VC iviews, PDF displayed in content area.
From other threads i found that the only solution to solve this is to have an iframe behind the div.
I have tried this too still the problem is not solved.
Steps i performed:
1> made a copy of original-A.jsp file as B.jsp.
2> removed the code for menu display from the
original-A.jsp and inserted the Iframe code as
<iframe src="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/SDNTest.JSPPortalComponent" height="60" width="1000" top="0px" left="0px" margin="0px" padding="0px" >
</iframe>
and called the B.jsp from src of Iframe.
till here it works fine, the menu too is displayed.
but it still hides behind the control.
Please help for where am i going wrong ???
Do i need to modify any properties of Iframe ???

Adobe hides behind other windows after printing

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.4
Windows 7
HP touchsmart PC (all in one with the monitor setup)
I have 2 users that whenever they print a PDF file, Adobe will will hide behind other windows after printing it. Doesn't matter where the pdf came from, it will always do this. It's very annoying to the customer. any thoughts/fixes for this?
