Itunes "copying" and won't stop

All on its own, iTunes suddenly decided to 'copy' files and process artwork. It is using up 40% of my CPU. I cannot interact with iTunes in any way while it is happening. I can click on the "stop" x in the iTunes window, but that only stops it from copying the current file. The only way I can get iTunes to quit is to Force Quit, since the iTunes menu is inaccessible while the copying is going on.
How do I stop this copying process that iTunes began on its own?
PS. I have turned off iCloud, logged off the iTunes Store, and done everything I can to sever connections to the outside world, but the copying continues.

Just hold down the power button until it restarts... the process won't restart when you turn it on again. No need to panic.

My Time Machine keeps backing up and won't stop.

My Time Machine keeps backing up and won't stop. The problem started when it said I was out if space. It is supposed to delete the oldest backup. Now I cannot even backup at all. It just keep going and never stops, although it really does not work at all. I have used the disk utilities and iI have Zeroed out. The TC is a 1 TB and is about 13 months old. Right now it says "79.9 MB of 104.9 MB" and "backing up 961,837 items". I do not have the check mark in "Notify after old backups are deleted." It will stay stuck like this for hours and hours. The TC is plugged into a U-verse router and the 27" MAC is plugged into the TC.

So you already wiped the old backup and started again??
If that is the case it did a fresh full backup ok?
How much free space is on the TC now?
Do you happen to have multiple network links? Meaning do you have TC bridged to the U-verse router.. with both ethernet and wireless working at the same time. I discovered this one all by my loansome.. having multiple paths does not seem to worry most things on the computer.. but it totally kills TM.
I had the same sort of thing happening in testing a TC I am fixing. So I have multiple ethernet and wireless. The incremental backups became extremely slow.. by turning off wireless and one ethernet so there is only one route to the TC.. it flys again.

Copy and paste function stopped working?

The copy and paste function stopped working on my laptop (ibook g4, OSX 10.3.9). It does not work in any applications, tried MS word, safari, preview.
How do I recover this function?

Your Finder may have lost contact with the clipboard, so try this.
In ~/library/preferences locate these two files and trash them
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
To re-establish them, log out and log back in again.
You will need to reset your finder and sidebar as you had them before.

You will need to Restore it as a New Device...
Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

I have seen a lot of cases like your issue, and it's easy to solve.
First, open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and repair permissions. Sometimes, a permission can be damaged and it makes that an application doesn't work properly.
If that doesn't work, open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, type ~/Library/Prefereces, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist" and restart

Try closing the mail app completely and reboot your iPad. Assuming that you are running iOS 7 .....
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Mail app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Do as the picture suggests. Connect your iPad to iTunes using the supplied USB cable.

AlexCarey, I've been having issues purchasing recently and place a number of calls to the support team. On Oct. 5th, and on my own decision, I went into my itunes profile and re-entered my credit card expiration date and security code. (Notice, it is not displayed for safety measures.) Today, I received an email from Apple support verifying if I made changes made to my account. For the heck of it, I logged back into itunes; click "Buy". ITUNES COPY AND PASTE ARTWORK PROBLEM

Ive had a problem ever since I downloaded the newest itunes update and want to see if anyone else is having this issue. I hope I can explain this accurately.
When you have the album artwork displayed on the bottom left hand of the itunes screen. I used to be able to double click on the artwork and copy that album cover art and paste it onto another track. Ever since Ive updated itunes a couple weeks ago, the double clicking is no longer working. When I doubleclick, it just doesnt work and doesnt give me the option to cut or copy anymore. So now I have no ability to cut/copy and paste artwork from one album to another. I used to always do t his routinely without a problem. Is anyone else having this issue or have an idea what is going on? Did a setting accidentally change?
Im talking about the album artwork on the bottom left of the screen. Double clicking it no longer works- doesnt give me any options. (The music is not purchased from itunes so I often manually update the artwork)

Copy from the artwork panel (and image selection between multiple artwork) is broken on this build. You can still copy art from the artwork tab in Get Info.
