ITunes corrupted, can't uninstall or re-install  HELP!

My iTunes program is corrupted, and I am unable to uninstall it. Up to today the program worked, though I could not install any downloaded updates, nor would it let me uninstall the program. However, this morning, it dumped about half of my music, including all of my purchased music from iTunes. My purchased folder is GONE, as is about 3500 songs with art work.
I uninstalled QuickTime, then ran Windows Installer Cleanup to remove the QuickTime and iTunes programs leftover. (This was the suggestion on b noir from another post) However, when it came to the removing of the iTunes folder from the Program Files folder, I got this message: "ERROR DELETING FILE OR FOLDER - Cannot delete iTunesmini Player.dll: Access is denied." It looks like the folder contents, for the most part "?", is still there. STILL unable to uninstall, cannot reinstall, and my music is still gone.
I manually sync my iPod, so my music is still on my iPod classic.
First, I need a working iTunes program. Then I need to retrieve my music.
Can anyone help me?

I got this message: "ERROR DELETING FILE OR FOLDER - Cannot delete iTunesmini Player.dll: Access is denied." It looks like the folder contents, for the most part "?",
Plausibly, that's a damaged file or files.
Try running a chkdsk over the C drive (or whichever drive the iTunes program files are stored on), as per:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, does the folder delete properly afterwards?

I get an apple application support error when installing itunes. It says uninstall and re-install.  Does not work.  same message.  What is a solution?

Is that an error 2 message?
If so, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Can't uninstall or re-install Vista drivers (Boot Camp 2.1)

I'm having problems with my MacBook Pro's bluetooth support in Vista under Boot Camp so I thought I'd try to re-install the Boot Camp 2.1 drivers. However, whenever I run the setup program, it just gives me a useless error message saying it encountered an error before it could start the install, and to please try again later. Rebooting doesn't help.
So I thought maybe I could uninstall all the Apple stuff then start again. But when I try to uninstall "Boot Camp services" from the programs and features control panel, it starts to uninstall, but then gives up silently as it nears the completion of the "gathering information" dialog.
So I can't uninstall or re-install this thing. Anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thanks!

It may be too late, but have you tried going into the drivers using Vista's control panel and either removing the drivers or reverting to precious drivers?

iPhone won't sync with iTunes and It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do. I tried everything!
I need to add my music to my iPhone from iTunes but its not working!

First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

  • Can't uninstall or re-install 6u21 - any ideas?

Installed 6u21, removed 6u19(shouldn't have), and rebooted. install of 6u21 was not completed correctly - tried to uninstall via Windows uninstall - wouldn't uninstall. tried command line level msiexec /x {product code} (took a long time to find out how) - looks like runs fine, log says uninstall failed error status: 1603. In the interim the 6u21 filesystem was corrupted(or I deleted in my frustration ;-). I now have no jre, can't install any version of jre (tried again 6u19, 6u21, 6u23ea) and can't uninstall 6u21, which still shows up in my Windows Programs and Features list as uninstallable and having 97Mb(even 'though the files were deleted), and when I click on it it looks like it uninstalls, but doesn't - it stays in the list). I've gone through regedit and cleaned all references to java, javasoft, CLSID#, GUID#, same behavior.....any clues or help out there?

Since no one has any ideas, here is mine:
It may be worthwhile to backup all your stuff off the computer and reinstall the operating system from scratch. It depends on how long you think it will take to reinstall the operating sytem and any vendor software you need to also reinstall. It might be faster than spending who knows how many hours trying to resolve it directly.

  • Missing "itunes.msi", can't uninstall or reinstall to update

I can't update to itunes10.5 because I am missing the "itunes.msi" file.  I am not able to uninstall nor re-install itunes.  Furthermore, I can't locate the file anywhere on my system.  How do I fix this?

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Follow through this link if you miss or forgot something. To reinstall iTunes 10.4, check here:
    iTunes Windows 10.3.1 (64 bit) (Windows 64-bit)
    iTunes Windows 10.3.1 (32 bit) (Windows 32-bit)
Thats all I could find that close enough. Hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 Machine - Can't update itunes.  Can't uninstall it either. What can I do to correct this?

I am running Windows 7 and I am unable to update my itunes from 10.6.0.40 (as per Itunes section 'about') to the latest version 10.6.3.
It says the feature i am trying to use in on a network resource that is not available. 'itunes.msi' can't be found.
'AppData\Local\Apple\Apple SoftwareUpdate\iTunes.msi'  Its asking me to verify that I have access to this.
I tried to uninstall itunes as per control panel but I am not able to do that either as its asks to verify that I have access to 'itunes.msi'
Please if anyone knows how to fix this I will be most greatful.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • ITunes was on XHD so I can't uninstall and reinstall. Help?

Because of computer issues and losing a number of laptop hard drives within 2 years, I stored my iTunes on an external hard drive. I lost access to this hard drive due to a worn out proprietary cable and have not been successful in getting a new one to access by XHD again yet. Due to this, I can't uninstall iTunes from my computer now and so cannot reinstall iTunes either.
    I run Windows Vista.
Is there anyway this can be remedied?
I know there was talk going around of using a Windows Cleanup Utility or something, but Windows support boards said it was discontinued because it harmed other files and aspects of your computer. So, not including that either.

Due to this, I can't uninstall iTunes from my computer now and so cannot reinstall iTunes either.
Are you getting an "Invalid drive" error message? Or is something a bit different going on?

  • 3D in Photoshop does not work. Graphic Driver is updated.  Can I uninstall and re-install Photoshop?

I have been on the phone with Adobe and Geek Squad and Intel trying to get the 3D in Photoshop to work.  It used to work till the latest updates, although version 2014 has never worked.  Is it feasible to uninstall Photoshop and then re-install it?  Wish I would have thought to ask when I was on the phone with Adobe...but didn't think of this as perhaps something that might work.  Is it possible?  If so, how?

If you have the latest CC Desktop app installed, then you can click over to the Apps tab then hover over the Photoshop version you want to install and click the gear that appears, and that’ll give you an uninstall option.  Once you uninstall PS CC 2014, you can reinstall it using the Install button next to Photoshop CC 2014 in the App tab further down.

  • Can't uninstall CS3 after installing CS4

After I got CS4 installed and working ok, I tried to uninstall CS3. A dialog window showed two components that could be uninstalled; CS3 and Shared components. Both were checked and grayed out so that I could not uncheck Shared components. How can I uninstall CS3?

Thanks, I spoke to Adobe and they said that all I had to do was be patient. The uninstall took about 40 minutes, and it was quite a while before the progress bar budged.
