Itunes corrupted cannot uninstall

My itunes says it is corrupted and I cannot uninstall it.  I have tried Revo and it still appears.  I just want to update my itunes to a current version.  I am running version 8.

Many thanks.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Try running several malware scanners to see if Kaspersky missed anything. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:

I cannot uninstall iTunes version 10.7.0.21 from my laptop (windows 7), therefore I cannot install the new iTunes version....!
Every time I try to do it, a "message" from the windows installer pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable", I try to find the installation package "iTunes.msi" but I can never find it either...!
The funny part is, I can still use this version, but I would like the have the update, which can make my computer much faster than now!
    Can someone help me out??

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.'  Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times.  Now what?

I figured it out.  A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help.  So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean.  And it worked.  I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked!  And I lost nothing from my account.
Maybe this info will help others.

I updated iTunes on my Dell Inspiron lap top and it corrupted my iTunes. I uninstalled all of the newly installed files.  I also uninstalled iTunes.  Now whenever I try to install iTunes, I get a message that says, "An Apple Application support is required to run iTunes on this computer. Tried it 2 times and no luck.  Any advice for me?

I get a message that says, "An Apple Application support is required to run iTunes on this computer. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again."
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Cannot uninstall or install iTunes - help!

I had iTunes 8.0 installed on a computer. Tried uninstalling and it won't. I get the error message:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTunes.msi" in the box below".
I try the other "alternate path" but that doesn't work. I have tried uninstalling using Revo Uninstaller and CCLeaner and it doesn't uninstall. I have tried downloading iTunes 8.0 from apple.com and it won't even install it now. Another error message I get, when I try the alternate path is:
"The path C:Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 8.0.1.11\iTunes.msi cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package iTunes.msi in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes".
    Help!

What you need to do is to uninstall it using the Microsoft Uninstall Cleanup Utility.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Using this program usually eliminates all issues and error messages with the uninstalling of the iTunes program. Make sure you uninstall the following programs:
    1) Apple Mobile Device Support
    2) Apple Software Updates
    3) Quicktime
    4) iTunes
Once all those are removed using the Microsoft Uninstall Cleanup Utility then you can go back to www.itunes.com and download/install the setup file again.

with that one, let's try the following procedure.

  • Suddenly Cannot Uninstall/Install iTunes :( please help!

After a recent necessary restore, I went to the iTunes shortcut on my desktop to open the application and I receive the error message "that action is only available for products that are currently installed". So I attempted to re-download iTunes, however I am receiving the error message "older version of iTunes cannot be removed. Contact technical support group." (which I assume is this discussion board because I cannot find help anywhere else on the iTunes site.) When installing it attempts to uninstall the previous application, and the message reads "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. iTunes.msi cannot be found."
Please advise and help, thank you!
