ITunes crash on iOS sync windows
Hi Guys
Having a frustrating time with iTunes and my new iPhone 6 128GB. Trying to sync my music to it.
Every time I click sync it kicks off the first few steps of a sync and then windows pop up with iTunes not responding. I updated iTunes to v12 as it was happening with the latest version of 11. If have tried all of the below and it still happens:
Windows 8.1 PC with iTunes 11
Windows 8.1 PC with iTunes 12
Windows 7 Laptop with iTunes 12 (fresh install for trying to get this working)
iPhone 6 with 8.0.2
iPhone 6 with 8.1.2
iPhone 4S with 7.1.2
4 different cables
Repair of iTunes 12 on 8.1
Deletion of all iTunes AppData (like a brand new setup of iTunes)
iPhone on Wifi Sync and USB to PC
iPhone in Airplane Mode with USB sync
I am seriously out of ideas on what to try next. I am trying to initial a support chat with Apple but its taking a ridiculous amount of time.
All suggestions welcome.
Hi Poncho_au,
If you are having an issue with iTunes for Windows becoming unresponsive when you attempt to sync with your iPhone, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,

ITunes crashes when I sync videos
I took some videos on my iPhone 4 on holiday. I copied them to my pc to upload more easily. Now when i try to sync them back to iTunes, iTunes crashes. It only happens when I sync with videos. If I sync with them unchecked, everything works fine.
I've seen other posts on this but still cannot find a resolution. I've tried using Windows 7 and XP for this but the result is the same - no luck. I've also tried uploading videos from my iPod Nano but just the sameOK. Sorted this despte a call from tech support at Apple.
It's the latest version of iTunes, 10.4. that is at the heart of the problem from what I have learned.
I uninstalled iTunes completely. Then a file called ituneslibrary.itb has to be renamed as .bak (if you don't do this, the earlier version of iTunes will not install. Use 'search' to locate it).
Find the earlier version from somewhere like oldapps. com. Download and instal iTunes 10.3
Sorted! (Well it's worked for both my wife's and my computers)
Hope this is of some use -

ITunes crash upon attempted sync.
Hello,
I've been having some issues with my ipod for a couple of days now involving a "corrupted" ipod that wouldn't be read by iTunes but i sorted that out by reinstalling the iPod software yet I still run into a problem:
Whenever iTunes attempts to being syncing my songs onto my iPod, iTunes freezes. I have tried using Manually Manage Music and all of the other options on iTunes' iPod menu but none of it prevents the crash.
Any ideas? I'm scared to restore it because the last time I did that it gave me the "Corrupt iPod" thing upon reconnectI'd recommend you to try this: http://www.jeffmccord.org/itunes-crashes-when-syncing-iphone-221/

ITunes crashes in iPhone sync. Not enough space
When trying to sync my iPhone with iTunes, the first several steps succeed, then am]n error message appears stating there is not enough space to continue. As soon as I click on the iPhone icon on the left, iTunes "unexpectedly quits"
Ther appears to be sufficient space on the hard drive and free space on the iPhone.
I am trying to restore to the last successful backup, (presumably there was sufficient space with that configuration), but as soon as I right-click to get to the restore command, iTunes crashes.
Any suggestions??
JDUse disk utility and repair the permissions on the drive. If it won't let you run it against that partition, you may need to copy the data off of it to another partition, format it, then copy the data back.

ITunes crashes; won't sync iPod
I have recently switched PowerBooks with my brother. To make the switch I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the contents of the HDD from one PowerBook to another. Everything is working well except that the first time I tried to sync my 5G 80GB iPod iTunes crashed and won't sync.
I have determined it is iTunes and not the iPod that is crashing is because when I force quite iTunes the iPod can then be used.
To troubleshoot this I have tried restoring the iPod; deleting the iTunes .plist; contacted Apple and asked them to de-authorize all of the computers I have authorized to play. I have not heard back from Apple on that one yet. If anyone has any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.I'm not sure what I did, but the problem is gone.

Itunes crashes during ipod sync on windows xp after itunes update
Installed iTunes update 2 days ago on Windows XP computer. iTunes now crashes constantly when trying to sync iPod. Get a Data Execution Prevention message that shuts down iTunes. I've added an exception for iTunes in DEP, but it still happens every time I try to sync and a few times it's happened after I've started up iTunes and just tried to go to the iTunes store with no iPod connected. How can I overcome this problem?
Oh, and here's the Error Signature when it crashes:

ITunes crashes loading Store on Windows 8 64-bit
I have iTunes 11.1.4 installed on a Lenovo X1 Carbon with Windows 8 64-bit. It will start and I can play music, sync devices, and update existing applications. Unfortunately, it crashes every time I try to load the store.
I have tried launching in safe mode, re-installing, adding the Apple Application Support directory to my path, and removing the preference files. When it crashes, this is the error message:

Regards,
DennisI tried many solutions, from compatibility mode, to running as admin and even reinstalling all the apple software. Nothing did the trick.
I finally figure it out a way to fix it. Roll back to an older version, pretty much what Atlas Axe did. However, I didn't have an old installer backed up so I had to look for it on the web.
This is what I did:
1. Download itunes 11.1.0
Instructions: http://warrington.ufl.edu/itsp/docs/TAC_InstallingiTunes.pdf
Direct links:
- Windows32-bit 94.08MB https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8597.20130918.PmmEw/iTunesSetup.e xe
- Windows64-bit 95.76MB https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes11/041-8598.20130918.Exe55/iTunes64Setup .exe
2. Uninstall all apple software.
Instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
In a nutshell, uninstall these programs. MUST uninstall in the listed order.
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
3. Reboot your system
4. Install Itunes 11.1.0 from the just downloaded installer. -

Lorna sI Am having problems syncing and now, after the final solution of resetting, of accessing my music. When I try syncing again, iTunes tells me it can't sync because I am over capacity (which I am not).
What is going on? Was working perfectly up to this weekend, now the whole package has gone out the window.

ITunes crashing during manual sync/update requiring use of "Apply" button.
My iTunes will sync new music just fine via the "Recently Added" smart playlist (to my 16GB iPod Nano Touch), but anything else I do that requires me to lock in changes by hitting the "Apply" button immediately locks up iTunes. If I try to manually select a playlist to add and hit "Apply", it crashes.

0x100bfd000 - 0x100c12fff com.apple.calculator 10.7.1 (117) &I am still having the problem. I have noticed a pattern to the seemingly random freezes.
The iPod is stopping to Sync at almost predictable points during the sync. The first stoppage occurs around the 1.9GB part of the sync. This has not always been the same file but it is always around the same place.
When I sync in small chunks the freeze occurs at almost the same place every time. As soon as it freezes, iTunes is toast and the entire computer needs to be restarted.
Anyways, the freeze happens around every 2GB's of data transferred. It does not have to be in one chunk, it is almost like it is happening on the iPod. Like the iPod is kicking itself out of the sync at certain points along it's hard drive or something. Once it freezes and I restart the computer, I can transfer another 2 GB before it freezes again... then restart, repeat. Finally I was able to load up the 14.8 GB I had in my iTunes. Several hours later... not sure if I should take the iPod back or not. If it is the iPod and that fixes the problem great... but if it is my machine, I get another 3-4 hours syncing and restarting my computer. Wheeee! -
Itunes crashed/stalled during sync
I have a 20gb click-wheel which was fine until I added some files last night. During the sync itunes froze or whatever. The task manager said it was not responding & the only option was to end the process.
Now everytime I plug in my pod it is not seen & I get the "Do Not disconnect" message displayed, & Itunes will only respond if I disconnect the pod.
The pod plays fine but the last set of tunes I added are missing.
I have tried all that was suggested on the support pages so I'm totaly scunnered as to how I can get my pc to recognise my pod again.
Any help would be much appreciated, otherwise its time for something more reliable.I have a 20gb click-wheel which was fine until I

No, it wasn't the only option and certainly not the safest. You could have shutdown the PC and then disconnected the iPod while the PC was powered down.

the "Do Not disconnect" message displayed, & Itunes

You will have already tried putting it into forced disk mode, but can it be seen in windows? (even if not in iTunes or by the Updater). You may need to look for it in Disk Managment if it has not been allocated a drive letter. If you can get it recognised and allocated a drive letter by windows try running chkdsk on the drive letter assigned to the iPod. -
Itunes crashing everytime I sync or try to update my iPhone....
Im using windows vista and everytime I try to sync or update my itunes it says Itunes has stopped working windows is closing the program....
Anyone know a way to fix? We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care...Your request Could Not Be Completed?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation. -
ITunes crashes when I sync music with iphone.
I use OS X Lion, iTunes 10.4 and iphones iOS 4.3.3. I've upgraded both iTunes and Iphone but nothing helps. I can sync everything but music. What's worse; when my iphone is connected it says that my music IS synced, but my Iphone says that there is no music on it. What to do?
Wow, I just deleted my playlist that I had and that fixed the problem..

Itunes crashing on "finishing sync"
Whenever I try syncing my ipad to itunes (on Windows 7), itunes stalls out on the "finishing sync" If I disconnect the ipad after a long wait, the apps can not be started, the icons just "explode"
Do I need to reinstall itunes on my PC? How do I do that? Will I loose my apps, or will they transfer when I reinstall?
At least the sync gets through the back up phase. It does take a long time for itunes to "verify" my ipad, but it does...
Help! I am going through Pocket Frog withdrawal!Hi,
itunes stalls out on the "finishing sync" If I disconnect the ipad after a long wait, the apps can not be started, the icons just "explode"
Try troubleshooting your installed apps. With the iPad connected to your computer, launch iTunes. Select the Apps tab in the menu.
Under *Sync Apps* on the left side of the window, deselect all but three boxes. Then click the Sync button bottom right side of the window.
If you can sync those apps successfully, then try 3 more apps. Hopefully you can narrow down the app that's causing the problem.

Itunes crashes when starting sync
i've been trying to update my ipod touch to the ios5 for the past couple hours and have been having a lot of trouble. i connect my ipod to my computer (windows vista), i select download ios5 only, accept the agreement, and then it doesn't go through the first step (backing up my ipod) because then it says "itunes has unexpectedly stopped" and doesn't offer any other choice but to close the program. i've tried logging off, shutting down, and restarting my computer. as well has check through my system folders to see if i have any unnessesary file duplicates of quicktime and i didn't see any and have also tried the data execution prevention and adding itunes (i don't know if that's what i was supposed to add???) to the list but it says i can't enable it for itunes.
