ITunes Crashed, lost purchase

So iTunes locked up and had to be forced to quit literally seconds after I finished downloading a song. I didn't even have time to play it, let alone back it up. The song is no where to be found on my computer. Am I stuck buying it again?

Try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link it'll take you to the support/contact page, from there click on Music Purchases then the Lost or Missing Items option, from there click on "Email Us": Customer Service - iTunes Store Support

  • ITunes crash, lost music....

    Hello,
ITunes seems to hate me because, after purchasing music, my ITunes crashed and I had lost all of my music. Then along with that crash and missing music, my computer then crashed. I need to know If there is anyway of getting that music back, because I really would like it back... If I can't then, thats just not cool. Please help me with this issue, It ***** that your program crapped on me and I lost my money and music...

If you don't have a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once

  • Itunes crashed, lost files??, files wont play.

i just tried itunes for the first time, i am running windows vista and if i had bean aware of the problems between itunes and vista i probably would not have done this. anways my problem.
when i first installed itunes it ran good and i setup an account and all was well, i made my frist purchase, which was scooby doo season 1 (16 eps) ,
however, while it was downloading the episodes my computer crashed several times, where i was taken to a blue screen where it said somthing about a crash dump and i had to restart, it did this many times durring the downloading of the files, but it always resumed,
after all the files had finished i noticed only 12 out of the 16 files were in the scooby doo folder, and whenever i tried to play any of these 12 files through itunes, windows just crashed back to a blue screen again, so i tried playing through quicktime player, the played but they played skippy where the video would freeze but the sound would keep going.
i tried there trouble shooting faq about increasing video performance but nothing worked.
    so i guess i want to know, how do i get my 4 missing files back???, and.. are the 12 files i currently have bad? or is it vista???? is there some kind of support email i can send this to? or does anyone know the answere to these questions? if not im out 24.95 =( , and i guess i cant trust itunes again, which i dont want to be that way ;_;

  • Itunes crashes when processing download

Itunes crashes literally after every single download i buy. it will download fine but when i tries to process, itunes crashes instantly and i lose my download,my money, and my patience with this program. I have emailed the support and I ask here also: all I want is either a fix or my money back. this wouldn't be such a bother to 9/10 itunes windows users if when we bought content it would be added to our account and we could download the content again without buying it again like say Steam, Audible, Napster, and the countless other downloadable content programs/sites.

Yep, those "are" the ones I "was" getting also. I say "was" because for some unusual spite of luck, it has not done it since. I was able to use the store last night, purchased 11 songs without one issue.
I play games and use monitoring software ((MSI afterburner 1.6) to watch my temps and control fans speeds. This was not running at the time during my downloads. It was running during my spat with iTunes crashing on purchases, just throwing ideas out there.
I did come out of a game (Crysis Warhead) earlier that day prior to running iTunes.
IDK, Yesterday, after I had contacted support about my failed downloads,I get home from work, turned on my rig, fire up iTunes and sure enough, I have downloads. From that point, all has been normal "so far".
Programs running at time of crash
    Kaspersky 2010
    MSi afterburner
Crysis Warhead (disc in drive) but not running
    firefox (latest version)

  • My old computer (a Sony) with my iTunes crashed. I have a new MAC and want to make sure I can keep all of my music (mostly from old CD's that have been lost). I bought iTunes match hoping that would work but it isn't using the data on my phone. HELP!

My old computer (a Sony) with my iTunes crashed. I have a new MAC and want to make sure I can keep all of my music (mostly from old CD's that have been lost). I bought iTunes match hoping that would work but it isn't using the data on my phone. HELP!

Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud.

  • Pc crashed lost all itunes music

My pc crashed and I lost all my Itunes music. is there any way to download from my ipod to my itunes? If not what can I do.
    thanks

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod.
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Has any Coldplay fan lost purchased content within iTunes, I have recently noticed my Coldplay Live 2012 purchased on iTunes is gone from my iCloud library and no longer available for purchase ! A bit strange considering there new album just went on sale

Recently I have noticed my iTune purchased concert movies after being put back in the cloud are currently missing.
I have never had purchased content from iTunes vanish from my iCloud library and also not be available for purchase on iTunes.
When I had Apple personnel attempt to push the content back to me, they could not find Coldplay's Live 2012.
Even more strange considering their new album just went on sale and renewed interest must be prompting fans to review their collections.
A beautifully shot concert film is missing, a sad situation to be sure!
Thanks for any iCloud wisdom and other fans noticing the same thing.

  • My computer with my itunes crashed and my ipod no longer works. I purchased a new ipod and would like to download my music but I am unable to

My computer with my itunes crashed. I can no longer use that computer. My ipod no longer works so I bought a new one. I would like to download my itunes that I have but I don't know how to get the information onto my new ipod.

Your itunes purchases for music, etc are tied to your itunes account - any computer (up to 5) can be authorized with your iTunes account information. Enter your iTunes account name and password in the iPod - you don't say which version of iOS is on your iPod so more details can't be given until knowing that.

  • ITunes crashed during transfer purchases now says This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another iOS device

The problem that have started when I was going to sync my iPhone 4 with current iTunes running on 64bit Windows 7.
I started iTunes and plugged in my iPhone.
All looked good and the iPhone came up as the device as it should have.
Next I wanted to transfer purchases prior to syncing so I started the Transfer Purchases process.
iTunes stopped working during the Transfer Purchases process
Now when I plug in my iPhone iTunes takes me to the “setup your iPhone” screen and displays “This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another iOS device” and only allows me to restore and old backup or setup as new.
Obviously some files were not closed properly when iTunes crashed during the transfer purchases process, how can I cleanup iTunes so that it will allow me to backup and sync my phone.
I am a software developer and am sure that a fix is not in the menu options   What I am saying is that I can easily remove or edit corrupt files to get it working.
    Thanks, Mike

The error message you're seeing is likely the other way around -- i.e. something like "This iPhone has previously been synced with a different computer".   There's no problem syncing multiple iOS devices to the same computer.
However, the reverse is not true for the iPhone --  you cannot connect an iPhone to another computer without it being erased, even if you manually manage music and video.  So, it sounds like you've been syncing your iPhone to a different computer?
Also, 5.1 (not 5.0.1) is the latest iOS.

Now remove all your info and update the old AppleiD/iTunes account and use only that account.
You cannot transfer items between iTunes accounts.
You can redownload all the content.
