ITunes crashes after upgrading to 10.5
I have an iPhone 3GS and successfully got iOS 5 on October 15th. However, iTunes 10.5 has stopped working after that and will not let me sync my iPhone or play any songs, add anything from my computer, etc. I wanted to put some new ringtones on my phone and used the same method I used before (dragging the files from my computer and moving them over to the "Ringtones" portion of iTunes) but then I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working: Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and then it goes to "iTunes has stopped working: A problem caused the program to work incorrectly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have never had this problem before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times, even downloading it to different parts of my laptop (from my external hard drive to my "D" drive). I can play a CD in iTunes but if I click on the "Apps" portion of iTunes or try to play any music or ringtones the error message comes up. I have even tried deleting music and ringtones from iTunes and it still won't work. Is this happening to anyone else? I am running Windows 7 32 bit. My firewall is also turned off.
Same proiblems here.. worked well with ios5 for a few days.. then started having same error message you are getting.
Sometimes I can restart itunes several times and get it to run long enoungh for me to update my devices..it will be stable for hours and then go right back to hanging up. I have thought that it may be some app or podcast, not compatible with the new version to cause the problem..however, I have tested this by not connecting any device and itunes just fails.
I am running Windows Vista 64 bit and made sure that was the version downloaded.
This is the first big problems we have had with Apple stuff..just recently became a big fan...what I am experiencing now really reminds me of Logitech and Microsoft.

I'm running iTunes on vista and have had no problems until yesterday. I upgraded to 7.3.54 and now iTunes won't load at all.
I have tried uninstalling, downloading a fresh version, and reinstalling. I have also tried going into the control panel and repairing it, but nothing works.
When I try to load iTunes I get a message saying "iTunes has stopped working" and I can either close it or check online for a solution (which achieves nothing) and close it. The details of the problem are:

Help!!!Okay. Let's try getting some additional information on the Crashes to the Apple Engineers for a look.
We're going to need the Bucket ID for the crash(es)
Go "Start > Control Panel". Click "Classic View". Open the "Program Reports and Solutions" control panel.
Click "View Problem History". Select "iTunes".
Click on each of the crashes reported.
Find the Bucket ID for the crash. (Or Bucket IDs if you're getting different IDs for different iTunes crashes.)
Put the Bucket IDs in an email to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to also include the following information:
- A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
- The username you are using in the thread
- The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
- the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs or particular Vista versions)
- A concise description of the issue you are seeing
- The exact text of the error message you are seeing -
ITunes crashing after upgrading to 7.3
I have tried several times to upgrade to 7.3. Each time, when I launch iTunes after the upgrade finishes (either via the automated update or via a fresh download), I get the following error message:
iTunes: iTunes.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0xc433011e". The memory could not be "read".
I cannot get past this error message and need to downgrade to 7.2. Help!let's first check to see if this is associated with a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work correctly.)
try launching your QuickTime. does it:
(a) launch perfectly fine?
(b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
(c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?) -
Itunes crashed after upgrading
Greetings,
I tried to upgrade itunes to the latest version today when the updater crashed. Now I cannot open itunes. I get the error message that my version of itunes is "corrupted" and it will not open. I tried to download the latest version to reinstall it from the Apple web site but it will not download. Istead I get the error message that the download cannot be completed. I am running MAC os 10.6.8 on an imac. I will look for help on this forum but would appreciate any help you may offer.
Thanks in advance.I spent an hour with Apple support on the phone but no go. Will not start from MAC OS X disk with C key held down, power off/rebooting no help. I see blank gray screen with whirling icon then screen goes dead.
Question - Is my iMac dead? Can Apple salvage my data? Time Capsule never worked so was never able to back up data automatically - only manually and slowly at that.
I have an appointment with the local Apple store on THursday but would like to save the time and order a new computer if you all think my iMac is beyond help. Also, does anyone know if Adobe Creative Suite 3 will work with MAC OS X Mountain Lion or will I have to upgrade/buy it all over again. ( This is one of the reasons I never upgraded to Mountain Lion.)
Thanks for reading this. Any advice as to being able to save the computer is much appreciated. -
ITunes crashes after upgrade to 11.1.5
OS Version: 10.9.2 (Build 13C64)
Today opening it for the first time since upgrading to 11.1.5 a couple of days ago, iTunes immediately gets hung up with the spinning wheel and I must force quit.
New to OS X and this is my first major issue. Help please.Hello there, bmbSYMC.
The following Knowledge Base article offers great, in-depth steps for troubleshooting iTunes launch issues:

Why does my itunes crash after start up with an "APPCRASH" error every time i open it?! I have been trying to fix this for weeks but all i can do it re-install it every other day which does nothing! I am desperate to get access to my itunes to get music on my phone and all of this just makes me want me to sell my iphone since there is no other way to add music to my phone. If things go get sorted soon you can say goodbye to my support.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Can't update iTunes Match after upgrading to 11.1.5
Hi,
Is anyone else (in Australia) having problems with iTunes Match after upgrading to iTunes 11.1.5 on Mac? I’ve found that whenever I play a track (i.e. update the play count), set a rating or edit a playlist, all my cloud songs become greyed out, the updates are not synced to the cloud (don’t appear on other devices), the iTunes Cloud music icon gets a lightning bolt through it (lost connect), and then my changes are lost. I can reconnect as many times as I like (by clicking on the cloud icon or restarting iTunes) and for a while everything ‘looks’ fine (can download and play songs) but actually nothing is saved to the cloud and the lightning bolt appears again when I make any of the above updates. I have another computer that still has 11.1.4 and iTunes Match is working fine on it.
JamesThanks Michael, I’d already tried both those (including applying the latest OS X security update and restarting). I kept trying to use iTunes Match every hour, and eventually it started working on my 11.1.5 computer and has staying working for the rest of the day. 11.1.4 was working the whole time.

ITunes crashes after I connect iPod touch
Hi,
My iTunes crashes after I connect my iPod touch. It doesn't even get to the point where the iPod icon shows up in the left hand panel. The crash report is below. My iPod SW Version is 2.2 (5G77a). I'm using iTunes 8.0.2 (20).
This did not happen the last time I sync'ed my iPod, and I haven't updated my iTunes and iPod software since then. The only anomalous thing I can report is that when I was directly downloading some podcasts into my iPod (Ver 2.2 now allows this), that several did not successfully download and I had to abort the downloads. The podcasts showed up in my iPod podcast directory but with the time as "--:--". I retried downloading them into my iPod, and they did download successfully, but the old, aborted podcast entry was still there. So it looks like some of my podcasts have 2 entries in my iPod, one that was successful, one that was not.
Since I have no way of deleting these aborted podcasts directly from my iPod without iTunes, I'm stuck. Help!
Robin

Apparently one or more of my iPod podcast directories were corrupted, and iTunes just threw its hands up. So, I just decided to do a restore. I had to do the "Recovery" type of restore (turn off the iPod, then connect to the Mac laptop, while holding down the Home key) so that iTunes would do a restore.
I thought I'd lose some of the podcasts that I had downloaded directly to the iPod that I had not sync'ed back to iTunes. But the Recovery Restore reinstalled the iPod firmware, and left the data files on the iPod intact! This is NOT what is advertised - the Restore message in iTunes tells you that you will lose the data on your iPod. Can't promise that iPod data will NOT be destroyed on a Restore, but this is what happened to me. -
Curve crashes after upgrade to OS 4.5.0.81
Curve crashes after upgrade to OS 4.5.0.81
Ever since I upgraded to the T-Mobile handheld OS 4.5.0.81, my Curve crashes several times a day down to a black screen. I can't power back up on battery -- I have to plug in to an AC source, then power back up.
Hourglass remains on for quite some time to boot up, then I get a message about verifying security settings.
Curve usually crashes when I'm on a call, although now it seems to be happening when I'm using any of the phone setting menus.
I've already tried 1) freeing up memory on the SIM card by deleting pictures 2) doing a clean install of the handheld software using Desktop Manager.
It's still crashing. My BlackBerry is two months out of warranty (of course!). T-Mobile says I have to buy a new phone. I think it's a software issue (I've used the phone with no problems between 3/1/2008 and 4/4/2009).
Any help/insight would be appreciated.

What If I Want To Downgrade?
Forum member 'bfrye' made a good guide: Here is a quick install guide to your blackberry. This should easily cover reinstallation of OS and reverting back to previous OS version as well.
1. Download the version of OS you want to install from your carrier's website.
2. Extract or install the files from the previous step. They will automatically install into the correct location. This location will be C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files. Under this directory you will see directories with the model number of your device (if you installed the correct files) followed by a version number. Under these directories will be a host of .alx and .cod files. Do not modify or delete these files. They are needed to install the new OS.
3. Assume the BlackBerry Handheld Manager is installed, when you plug your device in, a popup will appear and ask if you want to upgrade your device. Choose upgrade and follow the steps given by the Application Loader. If you have any 3rd party applications you would like to keep, locate and select them at this time to avoid having to reload them after the new OS is installed.
4. This will also be the time the apploader will ask if you want to erase all data and reload or backup and restore the data on your device. Choose your preference and continue.
5. Typically a complete OS reload with backup and restore can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes depending on the amount of data on your device to restore.
6. The apploader will inform you when the process is complete. After this, the device will automatically reset itself (sometime this will take longer than a normal reboot) and once completed and on, your device will be upgraded and ready to go.
Now if you wish to downgrade your device to a previous version, many of the above steps will apply.
First, you will have to remove the newer OS from your PC. Do this by going to add/remove programs in the control panel and removing the software for the new BB OS. Make sure desktop manager is not running when you do this. After complete, restart the Desktop Manager.
When you plug in your device, if everything went well, the Desktop Manager should tell you that your PC has an older version of desktop tools than is installed on the device. It will give you an option to keep the version on your BlackBerry or downgrade to the version on your PC. You will want to select downgrade and let apploader do the work.
Should this method fail, you will have to download the file javaloader.exe from the internet. Place it in a common directory (I usually put mine in the Loader Files directory for easy access. From the directory you have javaloader.exe installed in type "javaloader -usb wipe". This will completely erase all data and applications from your devie. Now navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader and delete the file vendor.xml. Now plug in your device and install the new OS from scratch. Open apploader and select the USB port as your connection. It will then bring to you to the main apploader screen and all the OS packages will be listed with status as Install.
If you have question beyond the scope of this document please feel free to post them. However I suggest reading and rereading these steps to ensure you have tried the most basic and tried steps to load or reload your OS. Have fun and enjoy!
Have you done all steps described ?

ITunes crashes after 2nd search
I'm having an issue with iTunes crashing after I run a 2nd search. I'll search for one artist, and it's fine. If I try another, I get an error screen and iTunes crashes. Error message reads:
" Program: C\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe R6025 pure virtual function call"
I've installed updates, ran a repair and even deleted and reinstalled with no results. I'm using Version 10 on Windows 7. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!hi g-pod!
i'd try going with SubJunk's suggestion here. itunes 6.0.1.3 came with QT 7.0.3 ... any higher versions of itunes come with QT 7.0.4. 7.0.4 seems more stable than the earlier versions of QT 7.0.x, and with a video-related issue like this, i tend to worry first about factors to do with the QT on the PC.

My computer crashes repeatedly and I get the message pages are not responding do you want to stop, and/or shockwave is not responding do you want to stop. I have Windows XP Service Pack 3, I am having the same issues whether I use Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. My HP Pavilion Desktop has 504 MB of Ram and I am using high speed internet connection. Because it was crashing so much, I used the uninstall program for Flash player to uninstall Flash, I checked my registry and removed anything I saw that was Flash. I then uninstalled Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, then I reinstalled the most recent versions from their websites. I did the same for FlashPlayer and Shockwave Flash. I went to the Adobe website and had them check to see if it was working and it shows I have FlashPlayer 10.3.181.36. The page that shows which version of flash player goes with Windows XP states that I should have 10.3.181.34 (This is what I thought I had before I updated, I was having the same problems). When I went into my computer to see what version I have, it shows 11.5.9.620 Activex and both Flash Player and Flash Player Object is listed as 10.3.181.34. My firewall for Windows is set to medium. I also am running Norton Internet Security. It takes anywhere from 3-6minutes for some of my games to load, and I have to refresh at least 3-4 times in order to play. When I do start to play it freezes frequently and I use escape to free it up. This has been going on for a month. I have no idea what to do. I am not very computer savy and I have been learning as I go.
