ITunes crashes running diagnostics since buying QT Pro
I recently did a complete rebuild of my box and reinstalled itunes 7.5 clean. Everything worked great until I registered QuickTime Pro - now whenever I try to run itunes diagnostics, itunes crashes with the following messages:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.5.0.20 ModName: quicktime.qts
ModVer: 7.3.0.70 Offset: 0000dc89
This happens every time - even after deinstalling and reinstalling 7.5. I am trying to run the diagnostis to troubleshoot a seperate Apple TV sync / stream issue.
Any ideas?
Eventually resolved this as unrelated to QuickTime Pro purchase - just coincidental.

Cannot use itunes or quicktime since buying quickTime Pro
Itunes and Quicktime were working great. I purchased the key for QuickTime Pro and input it. Now, whenever I start itunes I get "please wait while windows configures itunes..." but it never configures.
When I click "Quicktime Player" I get "Could not load or find the quicktime active X control".
I have tried running both programs as an administrator, rebooting, reinstalling, etc. The programs are both hosed.
I tried the registry edits suggested. When running AS AN ADMINISTRATOR I get "pcast cannot be opened. An error is preventing this key from being opened. Access is denied"
How do I get this working again? I'm going to challenge the charge on my credit card if I can't get my system back the way it was.I have the same problem. Is there any soluations?

IOS 6 iTunes crash/running slowly
Alright so ever since i've upgraded to iOS 6 the iTunes store constantly runs slow and crashes. I've restarted my iPod and killed all running apps. I have a feeling its a bug in the update but if anyone has any suggestions i'm open to listen!
Try restarting and the iPod touch.
If that doesn't do it, one thing that others have done to fix this is manually set the time incorrectly (Settings > General > Date & Time), test again, and then set it back to the correct time.
You can also take a look at this Apple doc for other ideas -> Can't connect to the iTunes Store -
Itunes crashing when opened since latest update with windows 7
About a week and a half ago Itunes said I needed to update. I did that and ever since then it has been crashing whenever I try and open it. Is there a fix or anything? I'm not finding much about it and it would let me contact apple support unless I pay $20. I'm lost. I've trying running as admin, restarting, repairing. I have no reinstalled and would like to avoid that because I'll have to go through all my music again and readd it and also uncheck and check all the boxes for syncing to ipod since I don't want everything to do that.
Another idea has come to mind...
Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer. Any change?
Ah, we've posted at the same time. When Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases is enabled, and you are signed into your account, iTunes checks the store for your purchase history and attempts to reconcile that with the content of the library. Any purchase that isn't your library will be displayed with a cloud symbol and you can stream or download the item. With it disabled there is nothing to do. Please try the suggestion above and see if it has any impact on whether you can successfully enable the iCloud items.

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's just a sample of a kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.GeForce(6.4.0)@0x82ac4000->0x82b7afff

Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. They should be more than willing to install a new logic board at no cost. I have no idea why this faulty GPU is making the headline here on the MacBook Pro forum so often now - could it be because Mountain Lion is just bringing the issue to a head more readily? I don't know - I only know that we're seeing more and more of these kernel panics of late.
Good luck,

Itunes window has disappeared since buying ipod touch
My itunes will not show up. I bought an ipod touch, it worked fine for a week, I have downloaded again itunes, but can't get itunes to show.

Itunes crashed while updating to ios7 and now my phone is messed up!!
While updating my iphone4 to ios7, then suddenly itunes crashed( closed) and since then it keep asking me to connect to itunes when i do itunes asks me to restore and i dont have any backup on my computer how can i solve this?
If you are being asked to restore the iPhone. your data is already gone.
If you have been using the iPhone as intended, your contacts and
pictures should already be sycned with your computer. Depending on
your location, you should be able to download your past iTunes
purchases (except for items no longer available in iTunes). Text
messages are gone, unless you can get them from your wireless provider.
The way to proceed is to connect your iPhone to the computer you usually
sync with and restore the iPhone. Then use iTunes to put back your
contacts, pictures, music, etc. Finally, turn on and use iCloud and start
a good backup regime to prevent future loss. -
OS: Windows 7
iTunes 12.1.2.27
iPhone 4s - A1387
Trying to install new iOS (8, I'm pretty sure?)
iTunes prompted to install newest OS for the phone, successfully created a backup/sync, shut off the phone, and now it's stuck waiting to be recognized by iTunes to get the new OS installed.
When the phone is plugged into the computer, Windows gives the "Device Detected" sound but it doesn't register as a camera or storage device anymore. Meaning I'm not sure where the device is supposed to be located in Device Manager.
iTunes does NOT show that the device is detected.
I've updated iTunes to 12.1.2.27
Restarted the computer several times, as well as the phone.
Tried another USB slot
Tried another computer (Windows), and while it DID register in iTunes, it failed to Restore OR Update
Tried Help > Run Diagnostics, but that crashes iTunes.Greetings boss413,

TS3354 Running Win7/64 on Mac Pro with Bootcamp, unable to buy iTunes HD movies
Hi,
ran into issue with Mac Pro tower connected to dual Apple Cinema 23-inch (final generation) displays. Running Win7/64 SP1 under Bootcamp on second HD; running iTunes latest, and unable to buy HD movie from iTunes store even though have latest Bootcamp drivers and Mountain Lion, and monitors connected via Displayport, Apple HD, and video (ATI Radeon 5700 series).
Is this an issue with iTunes not being able to detect the video card or displays under bootcamp in Windows?
(SIGH.)
Any suggestion would be helpful. I work during day on my Mac Pro, using Win7/64 most of the time; like to buy stuff on iTunes, like music, etc., and then be able to in living room download to also use with Macbook Pro and a Win7/64 HTPC.
Sorry to see such spotty support for iTunes on Windows 7 these days -- granted it's not their main product line, but still.Just to clarify I am an advanced user going back to Mac SE/30, and so forth.
If you're not running Bootcamp on Windows, on Mac hardware, this discussion won't be of interest to y'all.
robgw:
as you may or may not know, it doesn't look like the drivers that Apple installs for Windows with bootcamp provides the full control panel, so under the Windows device info all one sees is this:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Everything works, but there is no Radeon control panel, and no way for Windows to see if its HDCP compliant, even thugh it is.
Sadly Apple doesn't provide a proper "Radeon" control panel for Windows, and I've heard of massive problems installing the defacto ATI Windows driver package on Bootcamp, as it might conflict with Bootcamp's drivers. The ATI site doesn't even have a modern download for Bootcamp ... it's up to Apple to provide.
SO, I guess I was trying to see how one could enable the ability for Windows to "see" the display properties (Apple's drivers recognize it as a cinema display, but that's about it).
iTunes won't allow purchase of the HD version -- it will only allow purchase of the SD version.
Perhaps another person using this kind of set-up might weigh in if they have a chance. Not world ending, just one of the minor annoyances with not having the full dirver control panel on Windows, running on Mac Pro HD. -

I Tunes crashes when I try to sync photos (via USB cable provided with Ipad) from computer to Ipad. It worked fine before I downloaded the newest ITunes update. I tried downloading the update again but it still crashed.
My iTunes keeps crashing when I try to sync my iPhone as well as when I try downloading the newest iPhone upgrade 2.2.1. I just tried to restore my iPhone and once again iTunes crashed (at around 224MB into the download of the upgrade).
I've restarted my iPhone.
Restarted my iMac.
Re-installing iTunes.
Tried installing iTunes 8.0.1 (instead of 8.0.2).
Created a new user to check if that was the problem.
All with no success.
Any help would be much appreciated. -
I have written about this problem before, but there have not been any successful solutions as of this date. I will explain my situation a little further and maybe someone can help.
Most of the time, when I connect my iPod to my pc while iTunes is running, the instance the iPod shows up on the library site, and whenever I move the cursor, iTunes crashes, so I have to close iTunes right away and try to disconnect my iPod. Most of the time, a message comes up that says info is being transferred to the ipod and that I shouldn't disconnet it at that time, but I usually go ahead because I know it isn't transferring at that time, since itunes has crashed.
Sometimes, after I have clicked on the first message to go ahead and disconnect my ipod, another messages comes up that says something to the effect of, "You can't disconnect because it is being used by another server at this time." So I click "OK" and then iTunes stays on for a few moments which gives me time to transfer a song or two, but then itunes crashes as soon as it finished transferring or before it finishes.
As anyone can imagine, this has really become a hugh problem. Having an iPod and not being able to use iTunes makes it very unhandy. I'm not able to add any new music or any of the playlists which i have been working on. Does anyone have a solution, or any suggestions as to what may be going on? It would be deeply appreciated.
I plan to restore my iPod in a day or two if I don't get a solution to this, but I don't have all of the music, videos, etc. that I have on the iPod since I removed much of it from iTunes to help the computer run faster. I had over 2000 items in the library, so it was pulling the pc down and it was taking forever to use the computer.
I am unable to use any of the software to transfer everything from my iPod to the iTunes library because of the problem with iTunes crashing when I connect the iPod, so this isn't a solution at this time.
Someone, please help!
HP Windows XP Using DSL for internet accessI suspect a hardware problem. But do the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Resore the iPid to factoery defaults/new iPod.
In the latter part of you post, I thin you ar sayng that you do not have a syning computer and the music is not on the computer. If so, do the following so you will not lose anthing (or very little) when you restore.
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer

I have sent this report to Apple like 50 times and no one has contacted me.
What can I do? at this point Itunes is worthless. For assistance with a disabled account, see this support article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2446
If that doesn't help, contact iTunes support via the link provided toward the bottom of the page.
Regards.

My MacBook Pro constantly drops WiFi, at home and elsewhere. Other devices run fine. When I run diagnostics, it defaults to ethernet, I switch it back to wifi, it says Diagnostics cannot fix the problem, I run it again once or twice and it picks wifi back up, two minutes later, I have to repeat the entire process. I've looked at similar threads, and none of the offered solutions work, nor are they recently updated. I'm running 10.9.4 (in fact the problem seems worse since the "upgrade"). I also live in a country without Apple Stores. I'm not using Airport, but since the problem is with the Mac and not other devices, and with the Mac everywhere I go, the router is not the problem, nor is the network.
I should also point out that there is no indication that wifi has been dropped, other than the web page not opening - I have full bars, and diagnostic window says I am connected, complete with IP address. Only when I click on "assist me/diagnostics" does it indicate I am not connected.

IOS 8.1 Affects WiFi on iPad Air - can't downgrade
Hello all, I just got a warranty replacement iPad Air the other day that came with iOS 7.1.2 on it - worked well, but, of course, I was pressured to update to iOS 8.1. After doing so, on a "brand new" iPad (did not restore from backup), I've noticed
