Yes 2.0 is released and you can talk about that as much as you like.
But any the updates have not been released yet and therefore any discussion about versions, content, dates, etc is speculation. The Terms of Use are very clear, did you read them?

  • ITunes can't download the software upgrade for my Ipod

I have a new Ipod Nano 8GB. When I connected to Itunes it tells me that there is a new software update available for it (I think it was version 1.1). ITunes then tries to download it.
The trouble is that I don't have broadband, and have no plans at present. My dial-up connection took over 3 hours to download ITunes when I first got the Ipod. I would be quite happy to let it take as long as that to download the software upgrade for the nano but I tried several times and the line kept dropping.
Is it available anywhere as a stand-alone download? (I can download using another machine I have access to which cannot have itunes installed on it)
    Thanks,
    Stewart

If y are getting an error that yu can't contact the update server then:
    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
Otherwise why can't our download the update?

  • ITunes crashes when downloading video. HELP!!!!

I have a pc and itunes 6. I want to download video podcasts, but every time I try to download one, iTunes will freeze and the Windows error come up. It worked before I installed service pack 2, but now it doesn't. Can someone halp me please?!

If Zevoneer's suggestion didn't work you can try just
clearing your whole library by pressing Ctrl+A & Del,
then adding it again by going File>Add folder to
library and add the folders you want.
If that still doesn't work (it doesn't let you clear
the library), uninstall then reinstall iTunes. That
    should clear the library.
Well, looks like the simplest solution was the correct one. I tried to delete my library but it crashed when it got to the problem line item. So I ended up reinstalling iTunes and the line item was successfully deleted. (Now I get to recompile my library of 7400 songs and 200 videos. I'll get back with ya'll next month!)
Thanks for all the help everyone!

  • ITunes crashes when downloading a new song.

When I buy a new song on iTunes, and it is being downloaded it crashes my iTunes. It doesn't download, and I have to buy it some else. Does anyone else has this problem?

Yep, same here. Strange thing, the free stuff downloads fine, but god forbid I download a $1.29 song. I select song, press buy and all is well until the processing and I tunes stops responding and windows 7 pro 64 brings up a box with something about the program has stopped responding.
I'm forced to restart iTunes. Once back in, the song I had just purchased is nowhere to be found. Not in library, not in purchases, nothing.
I check my account purchase history, and sure enough, I'm charged.
This is with iTunes 64 9.2.1.
    Windows 7 pro 64bit
I perform an iTunes diagnostic and the only thing that was an issue is “iTunes helper” was not running
How do we diagnostic this without paying $$$ for every failed download???? I wonder if the free songs are on some different server.....
P.S Some songs need to be purchased twice before they stick, but right now, I'm playing Russian roulette with my purchase downloads.

  • Itunes crashes when syncing Ipad with mp4 movies in photo folder for keynotes

I'm trying to upload a small MP4 video onto my Ipad to use in Keynotes. I place the video in the photo folder and select sync, then tunes crashes.
I had created the video in Corel Video Studio pro 3 and created MP4 file. Copied to the IPAD and had it all working. I then made changes to the video and reconverted and now Itunes crashes when syncing.
    Itunes 10.4.1.10 Ipad 4.3.5
    Please help urgent

I had the same problem, and it turns out that the problem is having the same file into different folders. For example I had an MP4 in iTunes, and the same file in the photos folder that was being updated to the iPad. So I just removed one file and it syncs perfectly.

  • Itunes crashes when I try to authorise PC for Itunes match

I have just subscribed to iTunes match but having trouble with iTunes crashing when I try to authorise / enable my PC to use iTunes match.
I get a wt.exe error. Using Windoes XP. Any suggestions - tires reinstalling iTUnes but no joy.

If you're running iTunes 6.0.5, I would need the crash log to figure out why you're crashing.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
    drwtsn32 -i
    And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log" If there's already a file there, it most likely has multiple crash logs in it (new crash logs are just appended to the end of the file). So, delete this file. This will make sure you're not sending extra information I don't need. These crash logs are text files, so you can open them in notepad or whatever to see what information you're sending.
So, get the machine setup to collect crash logs, do the thing that makes iTunes crash. Send it to me. It doesn't hurt to put the URL to this discussion thread because I get a lot of these messages and are easily confused.

  • ITunes crashes when I play certain songs

After having upgraded to the latest firmware (OS 4.3.1) iTunes crashes when I try to play and sync some of my songs in my album that previously played and synced fine. The songs are encoded as .m4a at 256kbit, 44.1 kHz and are playing fine in for example Windows Media Player...
So why suddenly not in iTunes? And what can I do about this?

  • ITunes crashes when I attempt to open my iPhone within iTunes

Since updating iTunes and installing the latest iphone software iTunes crashes when I attempt to open my iphone in the device panel. I therefore cannot perform any manual functions on my phone through iTunes. I'm running 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6.
    Any suggestions?

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • ITunes crashes when attempting to play purchased tracks

Hoping someone can help me here. iTunes crashes when attempting to play tracks purchased from the iTunes store. Music imported from CDs still plays fine. They have played preiously but not since downloading and installing 7.0.2.16. QuickTime is up to date and I only have 1 PC authorised. Help!

There's another thread on here that suggested re-installing iTunes. That works for me (in that the videos play), but I have to re-install iTunes every time I want to watch them which is a pain. So if anyone has a more permanent fix...

  • ITunes Crashes when trying to backup on DVDs

I always backup my itunes library both on hard drive and on DVDs and never had any issues in the past. However, since I downloaded the latest version of itunes, the program always crashes when it's time to copy to a DVD. Any suggestions ? Thanks !

For anyone that has this problem I already found the fix
If you are running iTunes 11 on Windows 8 and iTunes crashes when you go to the iTunes store, you just need to copy a dll file:
    Dopying the QTMovieWin.dll from c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\ INTO c:\program files (x86)/iTunes
Someone else already find it hahaa

  • ITunes Crashes when trying to burn a disc

iTunes Crashes when trying to burn a disc I've had this problem now for a few weeks. Whenever I try to burn a CD or DVD iTunes crashes and I have to try up to 3 times until it crashes and then resets itself like if I had just installed it. At first I thought that it was because I needed to upgrade to the new iTunes version 10 but the upgrades are for Mac OS 10.5 and up. My internal disc drive no longer works so I've been using a borrowed Sony DVD RW DRU-840A USB burner with firmware SS01. I have iLike installed as well and that also has problems it has stopped loading.

    I'm having the same problem.

  • ITunes crashing when typing in iTunes Store

    Hi,
I recently just got iTunes 10.1.1 on my laptop and when I try to type anything in the iTunes Store (such as signing in and entering a redeem code or just pressing a button on the home page), iTunes crashes with no error message except for the "Windows is checking for a solution" box. Local operations such as syncing and listening to music works and it is only typing in the Store that causes the crashing. I have tried a reinstall but the same problem keeps happening. Any ideas on what might be causing it?

    No worries about any delay.

If we take that at face value, you're having troubles with your Apple Application Support. (iTunes needs a properly functioning Apple Application Support in order to work correctly.)
So let's first try uninstalling/reinstalling both Apple Application Support and iTunes, taking a few other explicit precautions just in case. Best to print off a copy of these instructions, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (installer file) to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the uninstall just yet.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Quit any recent version of the QuickTime Player, Safari for Windows and/or the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows if you have them installed and open. (They all use Apple Application Support, and may interfere with the AAS uninstall if they are open.)
    *Uninstall Phase*
Head into your "Uninstall a program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
(From this point onwards, recent versions of QuickTime, safari and the MobileMe Control panel will not launch, until we get AAS reinstalled by reinstalling iTunes.)
Next we'll remove any left-over program files and folders.
In "Computer" open "Local Disk C:" (or whichever drive you have your program files installed on).
    Open the "Program Files" folder.
Right-click on the "iTunes" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
Right-click on the "Apple Application Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Empty your Recycle Bin.
    *Reinstall Phase*
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the reinstall by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file you downloaded earlier. (This should also reinstall Apple Application Support.)
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Did the reinstall seem to go through properly? If so, can you type in the store without the crash now?
