Itunes Crashes When I Try to Go to Itunes Store...

Just last night my Itunes Store was working perfectly. In fact, I downloaded a movie from the store. Then today I updated my software for the computer via the option in the Control Panel. I believe there was a MaxOSX update in there. After those programs installed, when I opened Itunes and tried to select the Itunes Store, the program crashes every time. So I uninstalled Itunes and re-downloaded it, and I am still having the same problem. I have to believe it has something to do with the update I downloaded from Apple this morning, but please help. The crashes you're experiencing could be caused by any number of different things, but one thing to check is whether you are using a Proxy server to connect to the internet. (Check in System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced). Some companies and many universities and libraries use proxy servers to let you access premium content from off-site. The OS 10.5.3 combo update seems to have introduced a compatibility bug that leads to crashes with proxy servers.
From your description, I can't tell whether this is what you're experiencing, but it may be related. So if you are using a proxy server, turn it off and try without.
If this indeed turns out to be the problem and you need to use a proxy server for work/research, then you should try Firefox (new version: Firefox 3 was just released last week) instead of Safari, and install one of the proxy extensions (e.g. FoxyProxy or SwitchProxy). Firefox handles proxies inside the browser (as opposed to the system-wide level, which is what Safari is doing). That allows you to switch your proxy server on and off. I've been using it with my proxy server and it's very stable. With FoxyProxy, you can even define site-specific browser behavior.

My computer is authorized and I had itunes installed on it. I updated to the latest version and now am unable to connect to the itunes store "home" page. As teh progress bar moves to the right (while connecting), it gets about 80% complete, then I get an error message saying "itunes has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I am SO annoyed! I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes several times no but to no avail. Same thing happens. Of course, there'sno tel number for me to call, so I had to waste my time finding this board and posting this message when I coulda/shoulda/woulda had this resolved already.
After the OS7 crashing/locking up my ipad because of your faulty OS7 update and now this, I am seriously starting to hate everything apple.

My itunes keeps crashing when I try to access the Itunes store or when i try playing a song...HELP!!!

I solved it myself... for the benefit of those viewing...
1) I ran Applejack as a "see what happens" step, as that's fixed interesting problems before
2) Then ran disk utility, and blew out the hard drive (erased it) completely and did it as Mac OS Journaled
3) Waved a rubber chicken around my head
4) Restored the iPod in iTunes
All works normally now.

Me too - running iTunes 10.5.3 on Windows 7. Will allow me to sign in to iTunes, download app updates and then if I either close iTunes or try to sign out of my iTunes account it all freezes. So frustrating, because my understanding is that iTunes saves the library file when exiting. So, everytime I update apps I lose all the downloads.

Itunes crashes when I try to authorise PC for Itunes match

I have just subscribed to iTunes match but having trouble with iTunes crashing when I try to authorise / enable my PC to use iTunes match.
I get a wt.exe error. Using Windoes XP. Any suggestions - tires reinstalling iTUnes but no joy.

If you're running iTunes 6.0.5, I would need the crash log to figure out why you're crashing.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
drwtsn32 -i
And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log" If there's already a file there, it most likely has multiple crash logs in it (new crash logs are just appended to the end of the file). So, delete this file. This will make sure you're not sending extra information I don't need. These crash logs are text files, so you can open them in notepad or whatever to see what information you're sending.
So, get the machine setup to collect crash logs, do the thing that makes iTunes crash. Send it to me. It doesn't hurt to put the URL to this discussion thread because I get a lot of these messages and are easily confused.

Windows 8 or Windows RT? iTunes won't run on Windows RT. It should run on Windows 8. Use the appropriate installer from an account with administrator privileges.

My iTunes keeps crashing when I try to sync my iPhone as well as when I try downloading the newest iPhone upgrade 2.2.1. I just tried to restore my iPhone and once again iTunes crashed (at around 224MB into the download of the upgrade).
I've restarted my iPhone.
Restarted my iMac.
Re-installing iTunes.
Tried installing iTunes 8.0.1 (instead of 8.0.2).
Created a new user to check if that was the problem.
All with no success.
Any help would be much appreciated.
