ITunes crashes with BlueTooth audio - JAMBOX
iTunes freezes and crashes with error code 13014 when trying to launch while a BlueTooth audio device is tuned on - in this case, a Jawbone JAMBOX. It can pair successfully, but connection can be intermittant and often a reboot is needed for the connection to stabilize. iTunes has worked okay when the Jambox is in MONO mode over BlueTooth, but when it is in STEREO mode, the Jambox crashes iTunes.
Anyone know anything about the JAMBOX used with iTunes, or more specifically, with a MBP early 2011 running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and iTunes v10.4 ?
Thanks
I have also had this problem with my MacBook Pro. It's not all the time, but often with Jambox on, iTunes freezes. Turn it off, and iTunes plays just fine. Also get awful quality when trying to use Jambox with some feeds from Firefox. From the comments of others, this seems to be an Apple problem rather than a Jambox problem. Any thoughts?

Recently, I've had very frequent problems with iTunes crashing when playing commercial audio CDs. The crash usually happens at one of the following times
- When a CD is inserted (if it's a new CD, the crash happens after iTunes has retrieved data from CDDB, but before the CD appears in iTunes).
- When starting to play a CD.
- When a CD has finished playing.
- When ejecting a CD.
Sometimes it also crashes in the middle of playing a CD, but the crash usually happens at one of the points listed above.
The crashes started about a month ago, after I updated to iTunes 8.2. I tried reverting to iTunes 8.1.1, but that didn't stop the crashes.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- reinstalled iTunes (tried both 8.1.1 and 8.2)
- deleted preferences
- rebuilt library
- repaired permissions
- used DiskWarrior to rebuild directory
- re-installed OS X (archive and install)
But it's still crashing after all of that. It doesn't crash when playing mp3 or AAC files from my iTunes library, but it's crashing almost half the time I try to play a CD.
Any ideas of what might be going wrong or what else I might try?
Looking in the console log, the crash generally seems to be either a segmentation fault or a bus error.
Here's what I think are the relevant portions of some of the iTuunes crash logs:

One other time it crashes that I didn't mention above is when I insert an audio CD that I haven't played before. iTunes queries CDDB and then crashes pretty consistently. That and when a CD finishes playing are probably the most common, though it sometimes crashes in the middle of playing a CD (often when I've just done something else, such as editing information for some tracks in my library).
Not that anyone seems to be paying attention to this thread, but here's some more crash log excerpts. I'm noticing that most of my crashes are happening on thread 0 at 0x00003bd5 0x1000 + 11221, though there are a few on other threads (though thread 0 also seems to be at 0x00003bd5 0x1000 + 11221, even though it's not the thread that crashed)
The most common error I'm getting is a segmentation fault:

Importing CD's into Itunes Crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS KERN_Invalid Address
Every time I try to import a CD into Itunes it crashes. It started with Itunes 10.2, I then downgraded to 10.0 and then to 9.2. The problem is the same. I have repaired the disk, repaired permissions several times and checked my memory. Nothing seems to work. I hope you can suggest a fix. Here is the crash log:

Can anyone help me with bluetooth audio problem?
I was able to pair my 4s with my bluetooth with no problem. However, it automatically also pairs with BTaudio (I have a 2011 Subaru Forrester). So when I get into my car and turn on BT, it connects with BT audio and my music from my itunes starts playing. I have to remember to pause it everytime I get into the car or it stays on and eats up my battery. I went to the Apple store and called Subaru and noone know what to do. I can't seem to pair it only with bluetooth. Anyone else have this problem and know what I can do about it?
The problem is in the car; it is requesting that the music play as soon as the iPhone connects. I have the same problem with my Prius. Except I unpaired it, then paired it again and this time said NO to play music via BT. When I want to play music from the phone I plug it in to the USB outlet in the car, which also charges the phone and gives me Toyota's Entune Internet access through the phone. But it also starts playing as soon as I connect it, which I agree is annoying.

Itunes crashes with no crash report and won't let me delete the app...
If noone can help me I may seriously lose it...
Mactel user with recent crash issues with itunes...crashes consistently about twenty to thirty seconds after opening and offers no crash report...downloaded appzapper and when I try to empty my trash bin I get the following message which I suspect may have something to do with the crashing:
The operation cannot be completed becasue the item "ituneshelper" is in use.
This was happening with 7.0 and now with 7.1...any ideas??
Thanks in advance!
20" Mactel Mac OS X (10.4.6)Look in /Library/Logs for a file named itunes.crash.log.
IF you see that file, email me a copy, and I'll take a look at it. Please also include a link to this Discussions thread. -
My ipod touch 4th gen won't pair with bluetooth audio receiver?
My ipod touch 4th gen won't pair with my aluratech istream universal bluetooth audio receiver. It automatically paired the first time I used it, but now will not pair. I removed the bluetooth receiver from the ipod because it kept saying make sure the receiver device is on and within range. Now it doesn't even detect the bluetooth receiver. Any ideas?
Thank you! We got the bluetooth receiver to use with our car stereo and our motorcycle stereo and were very frustrated when it quit working. Thank you for helping me solve the problem!

GOOD NEWS

ITunes crashed with backing up/need help restoring
In the middle of doing a first-time back-up, my iTunes crashed. When I restarted it, all my music was gone. (My library page is black.)
iTunes estimated I'd need 6 disks to back-up my library. I was on disk 4 when the problem occurred.
What should I do to restore my library? Will resoring with Disks 1-3 allow iTunes to recognize my iPod so that I can restore the music that would have been on disks 4-6?
Thanks.1. Unless you've told iTunes not to copy music you've added to the iTunes library, backing this folder up will back up your entire iTunes library. If applicable, deauthorize the machine before restoring the computer.
2. This will work with music purchased from the iTunes store, when the computer is authorized to play music purchased from the iTunes store account used to purchase that music. It will not work with music you've gotten from CDs or other sources.
3. Yes.

MacBook not pairing with Bluetooth Audio Sink Typhoon
I did not have success trying to get my MacBook to pair with a Typhoon Bluetooth Audio Receiver Set (http://www.typhoon.de/en/art.php?p=1523&pv=3 ).
The Typhoon device claims to be a A2DP-SNK (stereo audio sink) .
My MacBook (10.4.8 up to date, with a Bluetooth-MightyMouse) Bluetooth-Assistant finds it in "Search-all"-Mode and labels it as "BT Receiver", and also finds it if I search for Headsets alone.
But after that, it just sits there and "collects additional information.", which "should take only seconds".
There is no timeout on this, no error message is given either.
Actually, with this Audio-Receiver came an Audio-Transmitter (a USB-BT-Dongle). Connecting this with a MacBook USB-Port does not result in any reaction of the machine.
The BT-Dongle should be able to do most BT-profiles, including GAP,SPP,HSP,HID and A2DP.
The System.log does not show anything, except for a "kernel[0]: (3795: ps)tfp: failed on 0:" happening every 3 seconds continually.
I'm hoping for any ideas... Or should I dump this device?
Did anyone of you get an audio-sink (with Line-Out) working with OSX?
Thanks,
visioneer7
MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.8)I've just found out that my Macbook's Bluetooth spec is Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and my keyboard's Bluetooth is 3.0. Would this be of any issue?

Why does iTunes crash with 'iTunes has stopped working' on startup?
This only happens when the computer is connected to the internet. If I switch wi-fi off first, iTunes can start, and then I can switch it on again, and it works just fine. It is really annoying! I have seen elsewhere that the 'iTunes has stopped working' message can be caused by outdated graphics card drivers. I have the latest version of both iTunes for Win 7, and the latest graphics drivers.
I have also tried 'repairing' iTunes, and deinstalling and reinstalling it.
The message 'accessing iTunes store' typically pops up just before iTunes crashes, about ten seconds after I click the iTunes icon to start it.
The error goes on to say 'A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.'
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

IPhone 4 in BMW with Bluetooth audio no track info
I recently installed my new iPhone 4 with 4.26 software on it in my bmw528 and activated Bluetooth audio. I do have the ability to play music, but it says that the track info cannot be displayed. It only shows a forward and back arrow to go to next track or back to previous track. Is this normal? If I use the USB connection I can see everything, including playlists and trac info,
Any ideas?

Hi Favial55: That is certainly the way it operates on my Bluetooth equipped Tundra. Bluetooth simply displays "Streaming Audio"

Hi there
My iTunes crashes everytime on loading on my windows 7 PC. The problem event name is AppHangB1.
I have installed the most recent version of iTunes onto this PC. It is a new installation. I have tried to import an iTunes folder elsewhere on my network, and when I start the program I get the message that it is 'determining gapless playback' - it whizzes through some tracks and then crashes 100% of the time.
Help!!
Many thanks
AndyTry this one and see if it helps:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

How to install iDVD from the internet
Download and install Pacifist from here ($20 shareware):
http://www.charlessoft.com/
Pacifist is a install package extractor.
Download an iDVD upgrade package from here (free!):
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1353
When installing the upgrade package you will get an error saying the you have no qualifying application installed.
Do the following:
Use Pacifist to extract the iDVD.app file from the upgrade package to your Applications folder.
If you try to use iDVD now it will complain about missing themes.
First install some free themes from here: http://www.dvdthemepak.com/
If you open iDVD now you will see some gray themes below those you installed. Click on one. iDVD will update itself. Afterwards click on one of the gray themes again. iDVD will download those themes. (> 500 MB) -
ITunes crashes with "iTunes has stopped working" message
After upgrading iTunes to the latest version, each time I launch it – it crashes.
I then removed the app, ran CCleaner and removed any trace of iTunes / Apple from the registry, downloaded a fresh copy from Apple’s site and re-installed it.
Now, from time to time, I manage to see the “Enter your Apple ID” window once iTunes launches, but then it crashes again.
I’m out of ideas how to solve this – any suggestions?
I’m running Win7, 64bit, with iPhone 4/4S, iPad 2.
Thanks,
O.Do you have the ACE Mega CoDecS pack installed? I saw that as the problem somewhere, and uninstalled it and that took care of the problem. I had just re-installed before having that problem and had every single codec installed rather than just installing a certain filter that I was needing and it was affecting Quicktime, which in turn was affecting iTunes.

ITunes crashes with message to update. Update fails.
I have iTunes 7.7.1.11, which was running fine until a few weeks ago but now it crashes as soon as I start it, with a message to update the QuickTime software. This started even before iTunes 8 was available, and still occurs - with the result that I cannot upgrade to iTunes 8. Here's everything that I have tried:
*1. Double-clicked on QuickTime shortcut*
-> Got dialog-box with 2 buttons - "Cancel" and "Do It Now" - and a message saying: "Some of your QuickTime software is out of date. You can fix this problem by updating to the latest version."
-> Also, simultaneously i.e. while the above dialog box is still open, the MS Windows dialog reporting a crash also comes up.
*2. Ran Apple Software Update*
-> Got dialog-box saying: "Your software is up-to-date."
*3. Downloaded latest QuickTime installer (7.5 for Windows) from Apple site and ran it*
-> Because QuickTime was already installed, I was presented with 2 options: Repair or Remove. Clicked on Repair.
-> Seemed to go through the installation process successfully.
*4. Again double-clicked on QuickTime shortcut*
-> Again, same result as earlier.
*5. Uninstalled QuickTime by running the installer and selecting Remove*
-> After going through the uninstall steps, saw the following status message in the uninstall progess bar/status window:
"Rolling back action: QuickTimeUnInstallMSIProc_rollback"
-> After this, the process completed with this message in the "QuickTime Installer Completed" dialog:
"The installer encountered errors before the requested operations for QuickTime could be completed. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again. Click Finish to exit the installer."
-> There was no other option but to click Finish.
*6. Ran the QuickTime installer again*
-> Again, only 2 options: Repair or Remove (as in step 3). No Install option.
So, now, I can repeat steps 3-6 again and again, but it is status quo. And, now that iTunes 8 is available, when I try to update iTunes, the download is fine but then it says "An error occurred while installing ..."
Any suggestions/tips welcome.
