ITunes crashing everytime I tryto update my iPod?
Everytime that i connect my ipod to my computer, it says updating ipod in itunes. but it just freezes and says that itunes has encountered an error and needs to close, and then i can Never update my ipod? any suggestions?
Try this - I had similar problem since installing iTunes 7 with my old 20GB ipod w/dock connector. I called Apple Tech Support and a very helpful gentleman explained that these problem relate to an error during the installation of iTunes and Quicktime. He had me try the following;
1. From Add & Remove Programs, uninstall itunes AND Quicktime. Reboot your machine.
2. Go to www.quicktime.com and download the install program for Quicktime ONLY (you also have the option to download iTunes and Quicktime - do NOT pick this).
3. Once you have successfully downloaded and installed Quicktime, then download iTunes and install it.
4. Plug in your ipod and whilst it still won't update at this point, it will now restore. Select the restore option.
5. Ipod restores and now updates without a hitch.
6. Sweet.

I had my Ipod connected while running a software update 1-2 weeks ago. Shortly after the update completed, my computer gave me "A computer must be restarted" mesage, and promptly shut down all the programs I was using and rebooted. Currently, not only does Safari refuse to operate, my Itunes crashes every time I connect my Ipod, preventing me from altering information or transferring songs. I've done everything but 'restore'-- I'm afraid that if I reset my Ipod, I'll lose the songs I already have.

Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer. If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first. -

Windows 8 or Windows RT? iTunes won't run on Windows RT. It should run on Windows 8. Use the appropriate installer from an account with administrator privileges.

HELP! iTunes crashes everytime I try to open it.
Hi, I need help with this iTunes software. After updating to the new version 7.1, my itunes crashed. And now everytime i try to open it, it comes up with a error M$ reporting popup, and it is unable to give me anymore information. This happens everytime.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that doesnt work either.
I have also read that i needed to try to install an older version, but that doesnt work either.
I also read that i needed to delete something from the application data folder. And that doesnt work either.
What can I do? I need my music!!!Hey, guess what...I fixed it!
It appears to be that when iTunes updated to the 7.1 version, you needed the newest version of quicktime to be running and fully installed.
For example. I had the K-Lite Mega Codec pack, which in it contains a quick time alternative codec which allows you to watch .mov or quicktime movies without having quicktime actually installed on your computer.
So I completely removed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack and rebooted, then completely installed iTunes 7.1 + quicktime, and then rebooted again to be safe. And it worked. I also installed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack later and excluded the quicktime alternative.
But if you dont have the K-Lite Mega Codec pack on your computer I suggest uninstalling quicktime, and reinstalling it, then install iTunes 7.1 all over again.

ITunes crashes when I plug in my iPod mini to my Mac
In the last week or so I have not been able to update my iPod mini, as plugging it in to my Mac makes iTunes crashes. My Mac still recognises the iPod, as it shows up on the desktop. I have updated iTunes to 6.0.5 but this hasn't helped. I am having problems with some other software since I updated my operating system to 10.4.7 -don't know if this is related.
Any thoughts?My guess is that those are unrelated problems, and about ur itunes crashing try pluggin in ipod withought itunes open then wait a few minutes before opening itunes this has worked for me in the past.

ITunes crashes when connected to 5th gen iPod, not other iPods
iTunes 6.0.1 crashes EVERY time it starts up with the new 5th gen iPod. Works fine with other iPods, or no iPod at all. Reinstalled iTunes and restored to version 1.0 iPod form the 11-17-2005 iPod updater. Reset nvram, fixed disk permissions, rebooted. Nothing works. iTunes will not run with the 5th gen iPod. Period.

Since 2 days ago, itunes crashes whenever i try to access the itunes library via apple tv 2
Using an iMac with latest Lion OS, latest software on all apple apps, itunes 10.5.3
Have never had this issue before using 3 x Apple TVs
Wireless network is healthy and always stable.
Have tried updating permissions via Disk Utility.
Music, Movies, TV Shows library is on Drobo external storage and has been for 3 years unchanged.
The Apple TVs work perfectly for everyting else except as soon as I try to access the home sharing library, itunes crashes.
The same occurs from each of the 3 Apple TVs, therefore it must be related to the itunes software.
Have saved
At a loss what to do at this stage. Kids are going crazy without Apple TV.

I have 5 Apple TV's in my house and it turns out it was one of them that when I tried to access my Mac via Home Sharing would crash iTunes on my Mac.
The fix was to "reset" that unit and re-stablish its connection to iTunes via Home Sharing.

ITunes crashing as soon as I connect iPod
Hi
Just bought an iPod nano (7th) which is functioning fine.
Have updated my iTunes to the 12.0.1 version, also working fine and has transferred all my music and playlist information from the previous version.
However, as soon as I plug my iPod in, iTunes crashes just after it has recognised the device. It is calling it an APPCRASH.
