I am having a similar problem. I get the bluescreen crashdump thing running Vista. This happened today when refreshing podcasts. It happened Friday when I plugged in the ipod. Now, any podcasts that were trying to download have the exclimation points and have a URL error(-39). The bluescreen says 0x000000D1: DRIVERIRQL_NOT_LESS_OREQUAL.

  • 10.5.1 crashing while connecting to network

Three day old MacBook 2.2. Original 10.5 updated to 10.5.1. Used migration assistance to transfer data and settings from PowerBook. Have now crashed five times while initiating sign on to a network. These are hard freezes with not so much as a keyboard shortcut or point movement possible.
While I am connecting via Bluetooth to a cell phone for internet access, my neighbor running an early 2007 MacBook Pro had a similar crash while connecting to a wired network. This leads me to believe that it is an OS 10.5 issue.
As another issue, three hours after I bought the MacBook and after updating and migrating, it went to sleep and could not be woken. Lost data on that one.
Please help! After 10 years of owning a 3400, TiBook, AlBook, and a couple of even older desktops, I have never had anything like this level of instability.
    Any suggestions?

OK, number 7! Typing a post in a non computer forum and my cell phone logged the connection off as it often does when inactive. Froze when I attempted a reconnect. Airport was off for sure this time. As in the other times, some activity is possible before everything freezes. Nothing functional until this time, I was able to select what I had just written and put a clipping on the desktop. Wasn't sure that had worked or been saved until I rebooted, but there it was.
I waited for a while in the frozen state just in case it would fix itself but the temperature and fan started ramping up quickly. Still no crash report!
On a hunch, I looked in my user library. There were a number of application crash reports from my old Powerbook that I migrated from.
Any other thoughts? I should just call AppleCare, but have no access to a landline and am running out of minutes fast so any hold time will be costly.

Can you not sync your iPod with iTunes? That should get the movie onto your computer. Now sync your iPad and transfer the movie?

  • ITunes crashing when connecting to the store on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I had iTunes crashing when connecting to the iTunes Store with an Apple ID. I tried unsucessfully all the solutions posted on the many threads of people having the same issue. So I decided to reinstall Windows. A clean Windows 8.1 install from the Microsoft DVD. And guess what, it is still crashing! How can this even be possible?
    The problem:
    - iTunes crashes when connecting to the store with an Apple ID. It connects, briefly freezes, then crashes.
    - I can access the store without an Apple ID without crashes. But it crashes as soon as I connect with an Apple ID.
    The system:
    - A clean, fully updated, Windows 8.1 Pro w/ WMC install from the Microsoft DVD.
    - Applications I installed, along with iTunes: Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Skype, Office 2013. Nothing else. No crapware. No nothing. These are fairly common applications that shouldn't conflict with iTunes.
    - Antivirus is the built-in Windows Defender.
    - Firewall is the built-in Windows Firewall.
    - Intel HD Graphics 3000 on an Acer V3-571-6486
    - I have not moved Apple's folder from Romaing and Local AppData of the old systems... So it's a clean iTunes profile.
    - I can sucessfully sign-in to the iTunes Store with this account on another computer
    - I have tried with multiple accounts on this computer, all crashing
There are tons of threads about this. I tried all the solutions posted, including:
    - Adding "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to the PATH environment variable
    - Copying QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Moving QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Updating the graphics card to the latest available driver from Intel's website (9.17.10.3517, 2014-10-04)
    - Downgrade the graphics driver (9.17.10.3347, 2014-01-29)
    - Use the graphic's driver from Acer's website.
    - Use Microsoft's Basic VGA Driver
    - Disable the Graphic's Adapter entirely
    - Have tried to monitor the process with ProcMon, looking for a hint like a missing file or registry entry, but have not found anything helpful.
These solutions seem to have worked for almost everyone, but not me. The crash details in the Windows Application log are useless. Faulty module name is 'unknown'.
I am out of solutions. Is there anything left to do? Can anyone out Apple debug the dump file or something? Is there any way to contact Apple about this issue?
    Many thanks.

    Hey zoyashahab,
Ok, so it sounds like there are two issues here we want to address, the first being the iTunes Store connection issue and the second being iTunes not recognizing your iOS devices.
First, I'd start with troubleshooting the recognition by following the steps in here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If after getting that running again, you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, then I'd go through the troubleshooting steps in here:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    Best,
    Delgadoh

  • ITunes crashes while trying to sync videos during optimizing

    Hello, Folks,
iTunes crashes while trying to sync during the optimizing phase if there are any videos in the folder.
If I remove the videos from the folder, the sync succeeds.

Reset the iPad and try again. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons, let the iPad start up.

  • Itunes crashes while adding artwork and other information

Itunes crashes while adding artwork and other information to video and music files.  Killing the process is the only cure and crashes after inputing information for 5-10 video files.  I have the latest version of itunes, and this did not happen to pre 10.x versions of itunes.  Running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.  64-bit iTunes.

    @tposchi
I do not think it has anything to do with router at all. I have 25mbps down and 6mbps up where I live. This is not shabby at all and I have latest TimeCapsule which is acts as my router at home. Yet the latest iTuns blows up playing streams. So I use this player instead: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html. Not as pretty, but at least I can play radio stream 24 hours a day with it and have no problems. iTunes 10.7 does not last one hour I too wish Apple fix it.

  • Itunes skipping while connected to the internet

Does anyone know how to fix a problem I am having with my playlist skipping when I am connected to the internet? I am not sure why it is doing this. It just recently started happening.

from personal experience, if you have an application that relies heavily on java or javascript, iTunes tends to skip. The way i prevent the skipping is to either disable the java, or i will minimize the program that is using it. As for it skipping while using the internet, the depends on the browser you use, the sites you are visiting, and the pluggins you have installed.
You can try disabling the java and javascript in the internet options of your browser, but I'm not sure if that will help you or not.
Another option would be to only have iTunes and the browser open, no other programs. You may also want to try running iTunes minimized.

  • ITunes crashes when connecting to Apple Store. Only if my computer is connected to the internet. If not, it works correctly (but I cannot go into Apple Store, of course).

    Hello,
When I open iTunes and try to connect to Apple Store, the application (iTunes) crashes.
I have install and reinstall the iTunes several times. I have realised that it only happens if connected to the interte. When my cmputer is not connected, the iTunes application works properly and I can syncronise the iPhone and iPad.

Any idea why is this happening?

    Dear federico78,
Thanks a lot for your help. it worked. Initially I couldn't find the file "Apple Computer", so I marked "show hidden files" and There it was the file. I renamed it, and now it works and I CAN USE iTunes and iTunes store normally.

  • ITunes Crashes While Looking Up CD Info

I have two Macs, a MacBook and a Mac Pro. Both are running 10.5.4 and iTunes 7.7.1. The systems are all up to date and nearly identical. Except. The MacBook rips CDs without any problem. The Mac Pro has iTunes crash EVERY SINGLE TIME it looks up a CD via gracenote. BUT, when you relaunch iTunes, it then remembers that CD it crashed while looking up. So it does find and store the data, then immediately crashes.
So how can I fix this? I already reinstalled the app, delete the iTunes music folder, deleted all of the iTunes prefs files, and even deleted the app and copied it over from the MacBook. Nothing helped. It still crashes every single time.

How did you figure it out. Sounds similar to my situation as follows:
I have a CD ripping problem on my 6 month old iMac. After a varying number of normal rips, iTunes appears to be hanging up between recognizing the CD and going out to CDDB for lookup data. The CD will show as an audio CD on the desktop, will appear in iTunes devices section on the right, flash a CD track list window and then disappear from iTunes and the desk top thereby leaving no indication that there’s a CD in the drive. Ejecting from the keyboard usually works and then reinserting the CD a 2nd time works for a while. Again after a varying number of CDs it becomes necessary to restart the iMac. Setting iTunes to just show or rip and eject or anything in between the CD has no effect.
We took it to the Genius Bar at the Apple store, but apparently all the Geniuses were out of the store. Our sub-genius guy apparently wasn’t able to process customer input. Multiple attempts were made to explain that reinserting the same CD after a successful read a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 10,000th time NEVER FAILED. He proceeded, un-swayed, to insert his “test” CD (he knowingly said there were music files on it, oohhh! ahhhh!) 10 times and proclaimed that the drive was OK. This despite my wife and I had the foresight to bring an armload of CDs the Mac hadn’t been introduced to. As a 52 year old electrical engineer that has programmed and trouble shot numerous control systems over the last 33 years I find it always makes me feel better when customer care types talk to me like I’m 6.
He offered to reinstall the operating system if we wanted to bring it back because the store was closing. The whole point of switching to Mac was stability, unsurpassed integration between apps and hopefully having somewhat more elegant solutions available than reinstalling the entire operating system. If I wanted to reinstall Windows in the vain hope it would do more good than harm to solve my computer problems I would still be running a PC and be $2500 ahead.
It seems I can prolong the onset of the problem if no other applications that use the Internet are open. We are running DSL to a Time Capsule 1 foot away from the iMac. The Mac connects to the time capsule via wifi. OS X and iTunes are up-to-date. We have no other problems with this computer what-so-ever.
Has anybody else run into this problem?
