ITunes decides which podcasts I should get ...

iTunes ssupends my subscriptions to podcasts after a certain number of weeks when I don't listen to them.  I keep missing episodes of my favorite podcasts just because itunes doesn't like that I went a month without listening to them.  Is there any way to keep iTunes from automatically doing this?

Additional information:
Lizziev:
The trick is to regularly Sync your iPod with iTunes.
If you are downloading the Podcast to your iTunes Library and then Syncing and listening to them on your iPod, you need to Sync the iPod again so that iTunes knows you have listened to them. Also, ensure that you lisetn all the way through. Until you do, the episode is marked as "part-heard". This may make iTunes report it back to the Podcaster as "not listened to".
If you only listen to part of the episodes, you can mark each episode as played by selecting it in iTunes and right-click/Mark as played.

has Apple added an option/check-box/whatever where I can say "always download my podcasts"?
I think that's unlikey to happen, for the reasons I stated in my previous post, concerning the Podcaster's limits.

  • Looking to get a mac for fall semester, have a few questions on which one I should get.

Hello everyone, this is the first time im posting here and i hope i can get some help. Im in the need of a new computer; I have been wanting a mac for a long time and i figured since im a junior in college that i should get myself something decent to finish school with. Any who i have been thinking about getting a refurbished mac for a while now, to me saving a few bucks is always a plus. I was just wondering though, do you guys think i should get one of those older products or maybe get one of the newer models just announced at wwdc? I had my eye out on a macbook pro, but the air has also been looking really nice. Im really having a tough time trying to decide which one i want get. This will be my main computer btw, and i currently do have an iphone and ipad 2 to go along with it. Here are the notebooks i was considering and also i usually will not be carrying it around campus that much.
    macbook pro 13in http://http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD313LL/A
    macbook air 13in http://http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC965LL/A
    macbook air 11in http://http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC969LL/A
Hopefully you guys can help me out, im really looking forward to owning a mac. If it wasnt for the os, i wouldnt be considering one, but i just fell in love with it when one of my high school teachers was showing some of the things he could do with his mac. Also if anyone has any other suggestions, please tell me, im all up for new ideas.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you... gonna be using it as my primary computer, graduating college soon, and my first mac. I'll be going with the 13 inch MacBook Air.
The Pro and the Air are nearly identical performance-wise and so that means the only advantage of the Pro is the storage space (unless you count the cd drive as an advantage). The Air is way more portable and has a better display, I don't know about you but my current cd drive rarely gets used so might as well get rid of it.
I have also compared them side-by-side in the store and that was really what won me over to the Air. The 11-inch Air was there too but the screen just seems too small, especially if you are doing work/writing essays etc.
    Hope that helped

  • Which Iphone I should get, 5 or 4s

    Which Iphone should I get?

If you have enough money you should get Iphone 5 if not you should get iphone 4s. The only difference is the 4 inch screen and better processor. The  iphone 4s got all the update of the IOS 6. Iphone 4s has 800Mhz to 1Ghz dual core and iphone 5 has 1.3Ghz dual core. I think thats the only difference.

  • DW 8.0 or CS3 - don't know which one I should get

Looking for advice on which DW version to go for. I'm
extremely new to DW and have designed many sites in the past using
FP, so it looks like I will be converting sites from FP to DW AFTER
I figure out what I am doing. I am confused on which DW I should
start learning. I got a book to help me learn the 8.0 version but
this was AFTER I saw there were no more trials for 8.0 and now I
have downloaded the free trial of the CS3 version and the book is
pretty much following along and have done a tutorial which turned
out good and was fairly easy to follow.
Is the CS3 version the newest and is it better than 8.0? Is
one harder than the other for beginners to learn? I've been doing
lots of searches on this forum as well as online but can't seem to
figure which is better and more user friendly. I'm seeing how
others are having problems with 8.0 and then also with the
additional download for 8.2 I think it was. I'm looking for some
expert advice from other users before I make the plunge and
    purchase - which one ??

DWCS3 is way different from DW8, but not in ways that
    necessarily hit you in
the face. The integration with Photoshop, for example, is
    excellent. The
CSS rendering is excellent (but could still improve). The CSS
    editing is
    WAY better.
I guess if you aren't using CSS, though, you wouldn't
    appreciate these
    differences....

  • I am deciding whether to get the macbook pro retina (base model) or the fully customized macbook air. Opinions on which one I should get?

I am trading in my 2009 macbook pro so now I am trying to pick the one I want. I stream a lot of movies and tv shows off of netflix but otherwise I'm just an average computer user.

    Cores and speed ...
Multiply cores by the speed to get "maximum therotical processing power".  Example:
    2.8 dual = 5.6 max
    2.2 quad = 8.8 max
Plus quad-core usually have hyper-threading which can double that maximum speed.  And quad-core systems have slightly faster internal caches and other memory buses.
In theory.  Usually even the heaviest programs will not max out, but it will have a higher maximum.
If you can afford the quad-core, it gives a bit longer usable life.

  • Need help on deciding which Mac I should buy

Alright, so I have a very important decision I need to make and I really need help making it.
    My two choices:
Choice 1: My first choice is that I have $1378 dollars to buy a MacBook. My choice is the MacBook air 13" with 128 GB hard drive, 8 GB Memory, and 1.7 GHz processor.
Choice 2: My Dad does not want his MacBook Air 11" base model from 2012. He is willing to give it to me. In return, I will give him the $1378 and he will buy himself a $400 laptop from that. Then he will buy me a 500 GB Thunderbolt hard drive and a thunderbolt to hdmi adaptor for the MacBook Air. The remaining money will then go to me.
Either choice I take, I need a computer fast enought to do serious video editing with Final Cut Pro and Multi-tasking. Also, it needs to last 3 years. Which choice should I take. I have one week to decide. Either way, my dad will pay for my Mac OS X Mavericks Update.

The processors in the new MacBook Airs are not that much more powerful than the 2012 models, the real difference is in the battery life. When you say your dad has the base model, I'm assuming that is the 4 GB RAM/64 GB SSD version. You would be cutting it close on storage space, but the external Thunderbolt drive would make up for that. 4 GB RAM is also cutting it close, especially for video editing, but I hear the flash storage on the MacBook Airs helps compensate for that.
If it were me, I would go with option 2, considering you should have a pretty good chunk of change left over once your dad buys his laptop and your Thunderbolt accessories.

  • I'm trying to find a song in the iTunes Store which I know should be there and it finds nothing.  What is wrong?

How do you search and find a song in the iTunes Store?  I can no longer do that.

    Hi FirstTenor,
Have you tested with a different songs?
How to browse and buy content from the iTunes Store
    Searching for Content
If you know what you're looking for, you can type a search term in the Search Store field, which appears in the upper-right corner of iTunes. Press Enter or Return to search.
You will see the results for your search. You can filter your search results by TV Shows, Albums, Songs, iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, Movies, Books, Audiobooks, Music Videos, Podcasts, and iTunes U content.
I just tested the search and it worked here.
    Best regards,
    Nubz

  • Opinions on which size i should get.

ok i am looking at getting a display over the summer, probably a 23 or 30 inch. im planning to get one of the tv tuners from elgato and just use my machine/display combo as my tv along with using it for working on. im an art student but i dont do much digital work other than photo editing and a little PS work here and there. should the 23 inch preform well for my needs? right now im just on my MBP 15in so dont have a huge amount of screen space but im not sure if i need something 4 times the size.
can others that are using the 23 give me feed back (or any one else for that matter)
    thanks
    -matt

    Hi Matt-
I have a 23" ACD. The display has ample desktop for day to day needs, and is plenty roomy using PS.
Browsing the net, you can have two pages open side by side, no problem. Working on text documents, the same, and room for inspectors and other pallettes. Text is never "too small" and eyestrain is kept to a minimum.
In PS, large photos fit easily, and pallettes don't have to ride over the canvas as with smaller displays.
The 23" also "fits" easily into ones eyesite- no need for turning ones head to see from side to side, top to bottom. The 30" definitely uses more muscles to see all parts.....
I don't watch TV on my monitor, but wide format DVD's are a pleasure to watch. Full screen video from a few feet away is comfortable to view.
Games, as well, with full screen presentation, look great, and the monitor presents colors and shades very nicely.
You can count me as a fan of the 23" ACD.

Thanks for your help and your critiques!

Did you happen to get any other info?  This is very similar to my question that I'm currently looking for help with.  Our computer is dying and looking for the best option in a tablet that maybe can replace my computer.  I'm looking for decent memory, hopefully my itunes and apps from my phone.  A word program and printing and a USB port (for my kids leapfrog updates).

  • HT4914 I have 25 GB of songs on my Ipod. I want to buy an IPAD. If I use ICloud to sync my music, will the IPAD use 25 gigs of space? I am trying to decide which I pad to get and 32 Gigs would be plenty, if the 25 gigs already on my Ipod do not count.

I own an Ipod with 27 GB of music. I am considering an Ipad. If I use ICloud to sync my devices, will the new Ipad use 27 GB? The answer to this question will affect which GB size Ipad that I buy. Thanks!

If you put the music on the ipad, then it will use the space.

  • Hey guys, I'm new here, and ready to make my first apple purchase, I'm a high school junior and wondering which macbook i should get..it would be great for you to help me out, Thank you :) PS - Retina is not an option.

I'm also open to the higher end macbook air, if that's worth it. thank you

You're welcome, and GJ doing your homework!
IMO, as a student pick the Air.  You will find it is much lighter and won't cause strain over a full day of carrying it around.  But don't forget to get a nice padded case/bag or slip cover for it cause you want to protect your investment.
If you haven't already go to the store and see touch and feel the differences ultimately one will feel "right" and then you'll know.  Pick your upgrade options and enjoy your new mac!

    - Access textbooks if needed
    - STAY ORGANIZED
    - 8 hour battery life (School day)
    - Consistent internet access
    - Be able to open assignments from teachers (Word, etc.)
    - Send emails
    - Send notes to home computer
    - Type easily
    - Open multiple sites at once
Any suggestions which model I should get?

I suggest a refurbished ipad2 64gb, specifically if you'll be using it for college.
My sons got netbooks for school two years ago. They had gotten excellent ratings. But they were very, very slow and didn't have a great battery life.
The MB Air would also be a great choice.
An ipad definitely cannot replace a laptop/desktop for your student needs. You cannot have MS Office or Excel on your ipad, and you'll need those for school. You can take notes on an ipad and transfer Word, etc. documents with apps like Pages. I don't know anyone who writes papers on ipads. There are many books, articles, pdf's, etc. that you can put in there or buy/rent electronically that will save you a lot of schlepping heavy books around. Many are required to get subscriptions to newspapers (at least in the business schools) and you can have all sent directly to your ipad and most also let you get them on your desktop or laptop. These will take up a good deal of your space.
My son got an ipad2 64gb before he started school (junior in college) a few weeks ago. He's used up about 22gb on mostly his music from ipod( about 3,000 songs!),lots of videos, and some apps for classes. He hasn't even downloaded any books or many games at all yet and I'm sure he will. We're glad he got the 64gb.The refurbished ipad 2  comes with a new outer shell, brand new battery, and full one year warranty from the Apple online store. It was $499.00, so, given the price, it was a simple decision to opt for a 64gb over 32gb ($399.)
If you're getting the new ipad, the apps will take up more space than previous ipads, and will add up in terms of used space. You'll also probably want music, movies, tv shows, etc. - more space.
You cannot add memory to your ipad, so I recommend getting as much as you can afford.
    Whichever you buy, enjoy it!
