ITunes deleting iPad apps on sync

My iTunes is automatically deleting all my iPad apps when I sync. In order to get them back I have to close iTunes and reopen and re-sync. Anybody else experiencing this?
Furthermore I AM LOSING ALL MY DATA in each app. Not happy.

The problem is that iTunes thinks your iPad is an iPhone - if you look at the device area in the list at the left of the screen, you'll see that there are only two entries beneath the name of the device ("Music" and "Movies"); for an iPad, there would be a "books" entry as well... When the device screen eventually comes up, you'll see that it talks about "iPhone" instead of "iPad".
Unfortunately, I don't have a a solution for you - this exact problem is preventing me from being able to sync to my iPad at all, and based on reading these forums, it's a fairly common problem that has no current fix. What I can suggest is that you watch the device list entry and if you only see an iPhone entry there (i.e, no "Books" category) you yank the USB cable immediately before it syncs. Based on what other people are saying, if you try again, eventually iTunes will probably identify it correctly, although this is not the case for me.

ITunes deleted my apps during sync

I looked up other people's problems but nothing that I saw quite matched what I was exaclty looking for.
I plugged my iPhone into my Mac and noticed my Apps haven't been updating. So I went in to sync my apps with my iTunes library. It said I had apps on my phone that were not present on my computer. Would I like to transfer those apps to my computer. I said no because I had recently deleted some I did not use anymore.
Apparently, all the apps i didn't want to sync didn't sync. So that's ok.
But their was one app, helps keeps certain photots private, is now gone.
I had a ton of pictures inside that app. Is their anyway of recovering the app?
IDK if doing a restore from a previous back up would work because I just backed up my phone as i did the sync.

That's why you don't have a backup in iTunes, you are backing up to iCloud instead. (For future reference, you can still perform a backup in iTunes if you are backing up to iCloud but it has to be done manually. To do this, right-click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes and select Back Up.)
To restore to your iCloud backup you have to erase the phone by going to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Data. You then go through the setup assistant again as you did when your phone was new, but when given the option, select Restore iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure to connect your phone to wi-fi and to your charger as restoring from an iCloud backup can sometimes take hours to complete.
Prior to doing this, sync your phone with iTunes to transfer any recent purchases. Also import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts and calendar (such as by syncing them with iCloud: Settings>iCloud>Contacts and Calendars>On). You will also need to save any other data more recent than the backup as it will overwrite all settings and data on your phone. (For example, sync or email any recent notes, voice memos, etc.). Once you've done all this, proceed with restoring your phone from your iCloud backup as described above.

I tied to sync my ipod to the itunes but, the apps wont sync it just says the apps will be replaced with the ones on the itunes library,but there isnt any apps on there, i deleted all the apps after i use to use the library for my old iphone helpp\!!!!!!!

You can only sync with one ITunes library. It you switch iTunes library iTunes will erase the iPod and replace it contents with what is in the library of the new computer.

Why did iTunes delete 2000 photos during Sync, even with 1 GB free space

I am having real headaches with Sync function in iPhone/iTunes. The 2 biggest problems concern Contacts and Photos.
Photos: I used to have 4465 photos on my iPhone, using 1.47 GB at a time when my iPhone still had 0.67 GB free capacity out of its 29.3 GB total. About a week ago, while syncing with iTunes, I saw the error message on my PC stating that there is not enough space on my iPhone to copy all photos. At the end of that sync, I was left with only 2072 photos using 0.78 GB, while the free capacity on my iPhone increased to 1.6 GB. I have synced at least 10 times since then to try and recover my photos, I have deleted the 2.4 GB photo cache, but exactly the same error message and issues happen. Please help get my photos back into my iPhone!!?
Contacts: my iPhone is the principal device on which I put new contacts or update existing ones. After syncing, sometimes I see that the new information entered into my iPhone is no longer there. And so I lose contact with people, since I have no other records! That’s really frustrating.
I have tried upgrading my iPhone software from current v4.02 to the latest v4.1, but for the 5 times that I have tried my WiFi has timed out, and so still not upgrade, as Murphy Law would have it!

I guess I should have included a little more info:
1. I only have 1 appleID
2. I only have 1 apple device (the one iphone, nothing else)
3. I only sync on one computer (VERY annoying you cant use more than 1!!)
4. I never have any other problems during syncing and don't change any settings
5. I downloaded the app again so it is back.
I am not asking how to get the app back, I just want to know WHY itunes deleted this app. This is the second or 3rd time it has happened and it is really annoying.
I also would like to get my files back. So again, I'd like to know why itunes deleted the app and if it deleted my files as well.
The most important part of this is to find out WHY this happened so that it wont happen again. It seems to be a pretty simple operation: Plug the iphone in, itunes opens and does a sync. It almost always works perfectly, I never change any settings. Yet every once in a while it deletes a newly installed app so obviously something is wrong. If I can find out what I did wrong, then I can avoid it in the future.

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.

ITunes and iPad app syncing ~~~ HELP ME.

Before I got my iPad 2 I went into iTunes and downloaded a lot of apps. When my iPad arrived I synced it. Since then I have deleted many of these apps but they're still in my iTunes. How do I get my iTunes and iPad synchronized without all of those old apps going back on my iPad? Thanks...

When syncing, Itunes deleted my apps!

It turned out that itunes copied my apps but I found it strange that they disappeared ftom my ipad. I had to drag them back and they were reseted; I lost all my login data and preferences on each app. why did this happen and how can I avoid it?

I think I found the problem. When I tried to synch photos to my ipod touch and I clicked apply, the synch all the apps automatically was probably clicked also which made my apps go from my ipod touch to my itunes. I was able to synch again my apps but some of them with data (like my air canada app with my data for my flights) did not have the data anymore. I had to start again. Is there a way to save your app with the data?

ITunes 11: iPad 3 not syncing

I upgraded to iTunes 11 yesterday and now I can't get back my iPad 3 to sync. It is being recognized and shows up in iTunes, but when I click the "Sync" button, it starts syncing, backs up okay but also quits in the middle of "Determining which Apps to sync (Step 4/7)". There's no error message, it just stops.
This is happening over Wi-Fi and also when attached with an USB cable. Tried removing and reinstalling iTunes, rebooting my iMac, rebooting the iPad, resetting the iPad. I'm running Mountain Lion and the iPad is on the latest iOS.
My other 3 devices (iPad 2, iPhone 4, iPhone 5) are all being synced okay.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone got any tips?

Experiencing the same issue repeatedly with my iPhone 4S and iTunes 11, however, my first gen iPad syncs consistently without issue. I removed the app that was copying to the iPhone when iTunes crashed, and now it syncs w/o issue too.

Bookmarked error message regarding deleted iPad app

I downloaded Pinterest app to my iPad mini. I didn't like the way it worked and deleted the app from my iPad, but it is still showing up in iCloud. I want to browse through the website using my bookmarked link on iPad Favorites bar. When I click on this link I get the following message, "CANNOT OPEN PAGE Safari cannot open the page because the page is invalid." HOWEVER, on my Mac computer, this same synced link works just fine. After getting the message on my iPad, it goes directly to the Pinterest app download page and wants me to redownload the Pinterest app from the cloud. How do I get rid of the Pinterest app in the cloud so as not to get this message? I went into settings on my iPad, but didn't find anything there in iCloud relating to a Pinterest app. Please help as this problem is driving me crazy since I can't use my personal Pinterest bookmark link on my Favorites Bar without it redirecting me to the Pinterest app page. I have not yet downloaded the newest ISO updates to my iPad mini. If this will help, I will do so. And I did shut down my iPad mini and opened it back up again, but the problem was still there.

I have never received one of these messages because I'm still 1.9GB short of the 5GB free allotment as you can see below. This is the setting where you see that you have 4.5GB of storage available on the iPad?.
If that is where you are seeing this, I'm not sure why you are getting the message but start by rebooting the iPad and see if the storage figure changes at all.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You can also go into the Manage Storage Setting and take a look in there to see if something doesn't seem to add up. BTW ... If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch - or another iPad for that matter - one of those devices will be using storage as well if you use iCloud with them.

ITunes deleted my videos during sync

I'm traveling outside the country for the next 3 months and before leaving the US I loaded up my iPad with several movies and TV shows using iTunes on my home computer. Once overseas, I purchased some music online and loaded it into iTunes on my laptop (not synced with my home computer.. big mistake). I read in these forums that I could connect my iPad to the laptop and load my new music into it without disturbing my videos, etc. as long as I set the option to manually manage videos and music, which I did. Well, guess what... when I loaded the music onto my iPad, iTunes wiped out all my movies.

ITunes deleting my apps!

I have an iPod Touch (2.2.1 version) and all of a sudden it has stared deleting about a quarter of my applications when it syncs.
When i plug my iPod in, I look in the Applications tab and the ones that are deleted are unticked. But no matter how many times i check the box its always unchecks itself and deletes those certain apps.
I really don't want to download them again as my internet is quite slow and further downloads makes my internet much worse.

I have the same issue. It started after downloading iTunes 9. 3 applications that I had had no trouble with for months in prior iTunes versions just uncheck themselves upon syncing with my iPod Touch, original. I tried deleting the apps from within iTunes, quitting and re-running the software, and re-downloading them from the iTunes store. Nothing changed.
The 3 application I'm having trouble with are:

Can iPad apps be synced onto MacBook or Do I have to repurchase them

I have had an iPad for a while and have a good few apps on it. Recently purchased a MacBook and was wandering if there's any way of syncing the iPad apps onto the MacBook or whether I have to repurchase them.

Of course. Just plug the iPad to your MacBook, open iTunes and go to the File menu (on the menu bar) > Devices > Transfer purchases, so your applications will be transferred to the Mac. Note that you can't use the iPad applications on your Mac

Itunes deletes my apps

Hey, when I buy something off the appstore on my phone and then sync it with itunes on my laptop it deletes the app off my phone instead of putting it on my lap to. Whys this. Its getting annoying now, how can i stop this?

If you purchase content on your phone, not in your iTunes library, before syncing, with your phone connected, iTunes running: File>Transfer Purchases.

How to avoid iPad apps to sync onto my iPhone?

I just bought an iPad and am wondering, if I use the same account will it sync iPad apps that I will buy for it onto my iPhone via iCloud? At the momet we're running a macbook and 2 iPhones (nmine and my partner's) on the same account and apps one of us urchases sync automatically onto the other phone using iCloud. If I now use the same account to download iPad apps, that won't run on the iPhones, will iCloud still put them on the phones? Trying to avoid polluting our phones with apps that can't run on them.... can you advise?

They will only install on the iPhone if you have automatic downloads turned 'on' for apps on the phone (Settings > Store) - and even if you have it turned 'on' only those apps which are compatible will be installed (so if they are iPad only apps or if you don't have the relevant iOS version on the iPhone they won't be installed).
You may also want to turn off automatic syncing for apps when connected to your computer's iTunes (there should be a tick box on the device's Apps tab when connected to it).

I reconnected it to the computer and selected one more app to put on my ipod, and it didn't bring all the saved data with it. I have now lost a years worth of stuff. I tried restoring from backup, but the latest backup was from after it deleted all apps. Anyone know how I can get all my saved data back to my ipod? Also, why would it get rid of all those apps. I know I didn't deselect them.
