ITunes+Denon Airplay Receiver

My iTunes only occasionally is able to locate my Denon AirPlay equipped reciever hooked up to an Airport.  But my iPad can find it to work the remote. Why is it a random wheel whether iTunes will allow me to use the AirPlay Receiver?

I was able to get iTunes to connect, but i'm not sure why what i did worked.  First, I reinitialized the connection between my Denon 1912 and my router.  The ethernet cable is actually installed into a hub and not my router.  Anyway, this made no difference.
Then I went into http://192.168.1.102 which is the address of my Denon receiver on my internet.  Using the web interface, i changed the name of the receiver from Denon AVR-1912 (the factory default) to just "Denon" to see if iTunes would pick up the change.  Once i saved the new name, I shut down iTunes and then restarted it.
Upon restarting iTunes, the airplay symbol was gone, but within 20 seconds the symbol reappeared in iTunes and Airplay showed the new name of "Denon" as part of the selection.  I was able to select Denon as a speaker and everything now works great.

  • Can't stream audio via Airplay to Denon X4000 receiver

I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro with 13-inch Retina Display. It came preloaded with Mavericks. I'm trying to stream audio via airplay to my Denon X4000 receiver which is airplay certified. For some reason airplay only works with iTunes. If I go into the sound preferences in Mac OS X my Denon X4000 receiver is listed as an audio output device but OS X won't let me click on it. It immediately reverts back to the laptop's internal speakers. I just recently started having this problem as of tonight when I tried to listen to music from Google Play Music. Has Apple decided to force iTunes down everybody's throat? How do I fix this?

This is from the Web page at Denon, confirmimg what you have found. I don't know if it is a Denon restriction or Apple.
    http://usa.denon.com/us/product/pages/productdetail.aspx?catid=avreceivers(denon na)&pid=avrx4000(denonna)
Equipped with Apple’s AirPlay function, the AVR-X4000 lets you stream your favorite tracks from your iPod touch, iPhone and iPad via your home network. You can also access your favorite iTunes tracks from your computer or connect your portable device directly via the front panel USB port.

  • Can I use my ipod touch as a airplay receiver to hook up to my stereo and play my itunes music from my computer?

I just was wondering, Can I use my ipod touch as a airplay receiver to hook up to my stereo and play my itunes music from my computer?

I believe there's got to be a way you can use the ipod touch as a airplay receiver to use on the stereo.
The ipod touch has a port for plugging in earphones, that can also be used to plug a stereo into it.
Now somebody just has to make an app for using on ipod touch or iphone to plug directly into the stereos input
jack to play itunes music from your computer wirelessly, other than the ipod being plugged into the stereo with a wire.

  • ITunes 11 AirPlay 15000 error

I am currently running iTunes 11.0.1 and I am trying to play music through AirPlay through my Denon 2113 receiver, but I keep getting a 15000 error.  I have searched for a solution and I have come up with nothing.  Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

  • Playing Xmas music remotely through Mac Mini & TV (iTunes? Airplay?)

    Hi --
In anticipation of the holiday season I would like to configure our house to play music throughout various rooms from a central iTunes source. We have a Mac Air with speakers in the kitchen, and an Airport Express in the dining room with speakers attached that also plays the same music from the Mac Air in the kitchen. We have a Mac Mini in the living room hooked up to a Samsung HDTV, and I would like to similarly play the music from the Air on that Mac Mini + TV combination, but can't figure out whether that is possible.
The iTunes on the Mac Mini recognizes the iTunes instance running on the Mac Air, but as far as I can tell that only lets me access the music library on the Mac Air, i.e. it would require separately triggering the iTunes playlist from the living room, rather than centrally from a single iTunes instance. The Mac Mini is connected through Cat5e to our network, and we don't have an Airport Express nearby, else I would pipe the music through the AE.
I would prefer that the music source be iTunes on a Mac Air in the kitchen, but could probably make a centralized iOS app work instead if needed. Either way, is it possible to use this Mini + TV set up as a music receiver, playing music through the TV speakers? E.g. make a Mini behave like a set of remote speakers? Or an Airplay client?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramon
P.S. Please let me know if this post is better suited to another forum -- given the mix of technologies at work I wasn't sure where to start...

iTunes itself does not act as an AirPlay receiver only a transmitter. There is at least one hack to make a Mac act like an AirPort Express i.e. an AirPlay receiver and this is called ShairPort (or MacShairPort for the Mac version).
The official and easy solution would be to get another Apple AirPort Express or an Apple TV2 and set it up as a second destination. Or if your wanting to go all the way, get several Sonos ZonePlayers as that is the Rolls Royce solution for doing a multiroom audio setup.

No, this has nothing to do with Apple or iTunes.
You are attempting to use a device unsupported by Apple or iTunes with an app written by some other developer to emulate an Apple device.  Talk to the app developer.
If you have an ATV, AirPort Express, or some other supported AirPlay receiver and the AirPlay icon is not appearring, then it is an issue that would be appropriate to be discussed here.

  • ITunes 11 airplay audio drop after 19 seconds

iTunes 11 on Windows XP using Airplay the audio momentarily drops on each song after 19-20 seconds .  Did not happen with iTunes 10.  Tried again on my other pc (Win 8 with iTunes 10) still ok there.
Symptom shows up when streaming to Pioneer Airplay receiver and to Apple TV 2.  Can stream fine to them from iOS devices (iPad, iPhone4, iPhone 4s, iPod touch 3rd gen)
    Any work on this?
    Anyone else seeing this?
    Thanks

after perusing other subjects with playback issues:
    this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my PC.  Now I cannot open iTunes.  I receive the following error message: "The procedure entry point AVCFAssetCreateWithByteStreamAndOptions could not be located in the dynamic link library AVfoundationCF.dll"  After pressing the "OK" button I receive a second error message: 'iTunes not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 127)".  I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled to no avail.  I've also eliminated the temp files (per suggestions on the trouble-shooting page) and no luck.  I also tried system restore and that did not fix the problem.  Any thougths on a repair?

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • I am trying to update iTunes and keep receiving the message "The folder path "My Music" contains an invalid character

I am trying to update iTunes and keep receiving the message "The folder path "My Music" contains an invalid character.
The folder where everything is stored isnt even called My Music, it is just called Music.
I gave up on trying to update my itunes and removed it and am trying to re-download but receive the same message. Now I have no itunes on my computer at all.
Short or wiping my computer and starting again I have no ideas left.
    Please help!

That message isn't referring to the location of the music, it's referring to the location of the iTunes programme.
So the message is either referring to the download location or the folder it is trying to install the programme in. I think (I wouldn't put money on this) that invalid characters will be things such as * ^ % and so on. When you get the message, look for the location that your computer is trying to use. Are there any strange characters in the "file path" that your computer is using?
