Itunes detect iphone in windows 7

I tried everything and spent hours and hours.  It wasn't until I deleted all three programs listed below and reinstalled iTunes for Windows 7 that I fixed the problem.
What FINALLY worked!!
Delete these three programs (control panel; Programs and Features) and reinstall itunes for Windows 7:
Apple Mobile Device Support
iTunes
Apple Application Support

An un-install of iTunes needs to be done in a specific order! Try these instructions:

Hopefully it helps!
Cheers!

  • Itunes 12.1.2 freezes when detecting iPhone in windows 7

    Hello!
I've just reformatted my laptop and installed windows 7 home.
did all the windows update, downloaded the latest iTunes 12.1.2 from Apple site.
installed successfully. and is able to launch and play music. i've added in only one song to the library to just test.
Here's the problem i'm facing now.
    - iTunes freezes if i tried to going to preferences via Edit > Preferences.
    - iTunes freezes when my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1) is plugged in. the iPhone appears under my computer, but iTunes is unable to detect/freezes.
    tried these methods
    - iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    - re-installing iTunes multiple times, restarted my iPhone multiple times
    - running iTunes on safe mode, but i doubt this will make any difference since there are no plugins installed.
    - phone does not have any podcasts/videos
    - tried running iTunes in compatibility mode
    - cable used is original apple cable
    - created another windows user account, same problem persist.
    - tried all 3 USB ports
    - uninstalling apple device drivers and installing
    - tried to revert back to iTunes 11.4 or older iTunes 12 version, but encounter installation errors with Apple Mobile Device.
    findings
    - iTunes 12.1.2 is able to detect my phone on windows8.1 (office machine)
    - able to access iPhone under my computer to retrieve images/videos
    - able to charge iPhone via USB
    - running iTunes diagnosis states that iTunes is unable to detect any iPod/iPhone/iPad when my iPhone 6 is plugged in
    - using iTunes with iPhone had been no issue before the windows re-installation with iTunes 11.4 (if i never remembered the version wrongly, it's the red icon iTunes)
    - Apple mobile device is working fine when i've checked under services.
    - Under device manager, the apple mobile device is shown up in the USB list
would be grateful for any help! been trying to get this fixed to do a backup and sync my other stuffs.
    thanks in advance!

  • ITunes detects iPhone, but doesn't sync

    Hello everyone,
    Excuse my bad english.
I've an issue with my iPhone 4S and iTunes (11.4)
iTunes detects the iPhone, it shows the usage-bar, but the "sync" button is unclickable.
I can see what's on my phone, re-arrange springboard icons and folders, etc, but when I want iTunes to sync my settings, nothing happens.
If I try to make a backup, it seems to work for a few seconds, but then it stops as if it has finished, without warning or error messages (and without backup )
I tried to re-install iTunes after deleting AppleMobileDevice.kext and AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg , but it didn't work.
Until the re-installation, the usage-bar showed only one category, "other". Now it shows all the categories it showed before the problem begun, but it doesn't reflect the real usage of the phone.
The other day I also updated to iOS 8.0.2 (without troubles), but the problem still exists!
Anyone can help? Thank you in advance!!
    iPhone 4S 32GB - iOS 8.0.2
    Mac OSX S.L. 10.6.8
    iTunes 11.4

First step is to see if the problem is with the phone, the USB or the computer. For the USB make sure you are connecting to a port on the back of the computer, not to a hub and not to the keyboard. Try connecting to a different computer. If it works you have narrowed the problem. If it doesn't the problem is the phone or the cable, so try a different cable. If it works on a different computer try creating a new user on your computer, then see if you can connect when logged on as that user (you could do this first, of course).

  • ITunes detects iPhone over WiFi only when it's NOT connected to a power outlet

iTunes detects my iPhone over WiFi only if it's NOT connected to a power outlet, so if I try to sync it fails.

    Hi there argelle1!
I believe you will want to restore this iPod in order to resolve this issue, but there are some other troubleshooting steps you can try before that as well. Those steps can be found in this website:
iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3474
Specifically, this is the section that refers to your issue:
Will not turn on or screen remains dark
Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting the device while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • ITunes not detecting iPhone 5, Windows 7 64Bit

Hey, so I have had this issue for a while now where iTunes simply won't detect my iPhone. I have tried the following:
    1. Rolling back to an earlier version.
    2. Following Apple's uninstall guide:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Then restart and reinstall (done this twice, installed older version and the latest)
    3. Done step 2 but also deleted this registry key which is left over after uninstall:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls]
    "C:\\Program Files\\iPod\\bin\\iPodService.exe"=dword:80000000
None of these techniques are working. Currently i'm using iTunes 12.1.1.4 64-Bit on Windows 7 64-Bit, using iOS 8.2. The issue could lie with a service which refuses to start called: Apple Mobile Device Service. When every I try to Start the service I get the error:
The Apple Mobile Device Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
Again, I have uninstalled and re-installed this multiple times and still not luck. Anyone got any ideas on what is going wrong!?

    Hello martynball,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I see that your iPhone is not being recognized in iTunes on your Windows PC.  Although you've done some great troubleshooting so far, there are still steps to go through in order to resolve this issue.  Please follow each step in the article linked to below.

  • Where do photos go when shared to iTunes on iPhone on Windows?  iTunes under Apps shows somethings been shared based on the size, but there is nothing in the iTunes photo section, and it says 0 photos???

I'm new to iPhoto, and I'm trying to figure out where sharing a photo to iTunes goes on the iPhone4 and/or Windows 8?
The Windows iTunes App section indicates something was shared and has an appropriate date and size, but the photo part says 0 photos, which makes it a little hard to delete.
Running the latest versions of iPhone, iPhoto, iTunes, and Windows.
    Thx

Sharing to iTunes means the item is stored in the Individual app's file sharing area.
When your iPad is connected to your computer and selected look for the Apps tab. Select that then scroll down. First there will be a list of all your apps. Scroll down below that to find a list of your apps that support file sharing. Select iPhoto and you'll find the files you have shared to iTunes. Copy or drag them to your computer and move them where you want them.

  • Best itunes for iphone 4s windows 7 professional 64 bit

I'm asking for advice, if someone has an idea, or maybe there's a moderator around to tell me~~which version of iTunes and which version of iOS would be best for my iPhone 4S using Windows 7 professional~~with all the current MS updates installed?
I also have an iPhone 3S attached to my iTunes account, not sure which version of iOS I should be using with this phone either, not sure which iPhone 3S is which~~one was a 32G that went in the laundry, got repaired by the local iPhone repair.  The other is an 8G, purchased at the same time as the 4S.
Sorry had to edit the rant.
Home sharing tips appreciated too!  I have a Sony Bravia home theatre system, I understand these things, unfortunately most days I fall into bed, sleep 3-4 hours, get up and do it over again.

The iTunes version for the computer is 11.2.2.3 which is the current version. For your iPhone 4S, you can only have iOS 7.1.1 which is the current version also. You can update your other phones by connecting them to your computer and update through iTunes to whichever version they allow. I have not used home sharing, so hopefully someone else can address that.

  • ITunes and iPhone in Windows 8.0

I had to uninstall iTunes for a Microsoft problem.  I downloaded the latest iTunes and installed it.  WhenI connected my iPhone to iTunes, a photo app opened up.  An error message also appeared
"This iPHone cannot be used because the required software is not installed.  Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again."
I did this several times and continue to get the same result.  What is missing from the most recent iTunes download or from my laptop?

    Hello garykbrown
When you uninstalled iTunes, did you just do iTunes or did you do the additional Apple software that came with it. Check against the article below to check against.

  • ITunes won't detect iphones at all? Running Windows 7 - 64 bit

I have two iPhone's. One is a 4 and the newer one is a 4S.
Neither will detect in itunes for some reson and I can't locate in the settings where to make it search for them.
The USB socket knows they are there as it makes the did did noise as they connect and disconnevt each tiem?
    Please help !!!

I have the exact same problem after last upgrade to 10.5 safari, now iTunes and Safari can't load any sites and I can't load iTunes app store.
With those symptoms, I'd check the following document:
iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(Itunes uses the same webkit rendering engine for the store as Safari does for rendering web pages, so the same sort of things that can cause a blank Store can also cause a blank Safari.)

  • [win 8] itunes not detecting iphone in DFU mode for restore/recovery

    Here is the story:
Had my iphone 6 plus for about a month now. Today I hooked it up to my windows 8 machine and itunes (both fully updated to latest versions).
Phone was detected fine, so I ran a full sync and backup to my local machine with itunes. No problem its all good.
Then went to the updates section and it said I had a new one (8.1.2 or whatever I cant remember)
I ran it, in itunes while the device was connected.
It downloaded and was going through the install process... then the screen on my phone went to the "connecting to itunes" graphic (with the cord and the itunes app icon). Thats where it sat.
So now it no longer appeared as a device in itunes either.
    OK... went to the forums.
    1) Tried all the reboots and uninstalls/reinstalls
    2) Tried booting and connecting in "Recovery mode" (default now as all I see is that connecting screen)
    3) Tried booting and connecting in DFU mode
Neither mode was detecting the device with itunes but I am getting the chimes of connection for windows itself.
I do see the device in my windows system hardware under "unspecified" as "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" (and when i view details its model shows either Recovery or DFU mode depending on how I booted the device)
So here I am... stuck with a phone in either DFU mode OR recovery mode on a botched ios update and itunes wont detect it on windows 8.x
    What can I do ?
Looking for some creative or outside the box ideas here. I just want a reset and restore of the backup I made on local itunes today.
If I can get the device back to even a factory reset, I am hoping itunes will detect it properly and can run a restore from it local storage.
Really stuck and been on this for hours now.

    Hello joeldevil,
I know you have tried uninstalling and a reinstall of iTunes, but have you checked out the additional troubleshooting steps to check the drivers to make sure that they are installed. There is also a section for what to do when your iPhone is in recovery mode and not seen in iTunes. One more thing you can try is to try your restore in another user.
