Solo para cubrir este angulo, ¿esa musica es comprada (en contraste a musica bajada de CDs)? Y ¿se ha sincronizado a otros dispositivos?

Hola, segun los dispositivos en uso, podria ser necesario ese consumo "fijo" de memoria, te dejo al final mas informacion sobre esto, pero antes repasa la siguiente configuracion no la tengas limitada:
Pulsa la tecla Windows + R y escribes:
msconfig
Acude a:
Arranque - Opciones Avanzadas - Cantidad maxima de memoria
Asegurate que no este limitada, el cuadrado de opcion debe estar desmarcado.
Si es correcto, te dejo informacion de como puede hacer uso el hardware de la memoria, la explicacion es igualmente valida en equipos con Windows 8::

I have a 2GB IPOD with only 385 songs on it. I downloaded 2 CD's to iTunes but when I try and sync the IPOD I'm getting an error message indicating there isn't enough space. I thought a 2GB would hold at least 500 songs.

The figures that Apple used to use when saying how many songs coud fit onto any particular iPod were based on a 4 minute song at a Bit Rate of 128Kbps and that's the bit rate that songs sold by iTunes used to be in. However, now the iTunes Store sells songs at 256Kbps (as do many other MP3 stores) - which means that each song now uses twice as much storage space than before.
So if your songs have a bit rate of higher than 128Kbps, and/or they are all longer than four minutes each, that's why 385 songs is filling up your iPod. You can check how much space is being used when the iPod is connected to iTunes Library. Look on the Device panes for the capacity bar at the bottom of the window. How much space is being used by Music?
The solution is either:
Use iTunes to make 128Kbps versions to go onto your iPod - or,
Sync the iPod using Playlists and then choosing which Playlists you want on it. Smart Playlists may be the answer - you can set Smart Playlists up so that they automatically add and remove songs from your iPod, so that there is a constant change of songs (according to the rules you set)

Right click the filename that won't download and selsct 'Get Info'. Look at the file path, does it have a //?// in it? That is a problem with Amazon downloads that prevent iTunes from finding the file. Use 'Add Folder' to add the album to your library and try syncing it again

Si tu ipod es de segunda generacion no puedes actualizar sino hasta la 4.2.1 si es de tercera hasta la 4.3.3 solo el ipod de cuarta puede actualizar a la 5.0 y por lo del problema de red no te preocupes que itunes reconoce a los ipods compatibles y dependiendo de la compatibilidad sigue con la descarga del software, Suponiendo que es cuarta generacion necesitas checar que tengas la ultima version de iTunes, es lo mas primordial y no debes tener fallas.

lo ams probable es q tngas q recargarlo de la manera q de por si ya utilices, sin prenderlo... sino, restauralo (restore)... es decir, reinstala (o utiilizalo en caso aun lo tngas en tu pc) el programa del ipod y luego acitva "restore", para que regrese a su configuracion orignal o actualizada cuals ea el caso.
asegurate q la bateria este vacia, no lo uses x 24 horas, y luego conectalo a una pc y reinicialo... si aun asi no funcionara, as lo q puse arriba...
