ITunes Displays Incorrect Number of Songs?

I have an itunes library that shows 10K+ songs. I have imported these songs using the lossless setting. I have run a batch export of the entire library to convert all songs to MP3. I have created a new library on a seperate drive for this process. The problem is that the new MP3 library now shows over 13K songs. My original lossless library has gone through several updates over time. I have checked for duplicates but the new MP3 library appears to be the same as the original lossless. Can anyone tell me how to correct the number of songs in my original library? Thanks!

ITunes App icon displays incorrect number of updates

Am currently running iTunes 11.03 but this issue has been around for several months. The App icon in iTunes indicates there are 38 updates available. After downloading them and syncing with my iPhone 3GS, the icon contiues to indicate 38 updates being available. Is there a way to reset the update counter?

Change Itunes display from albums to songs?

When I downloaded the new version of ITunes(11.0.2.25) for my PC it displays all the music in albums, I would like to display the music a songs . Can't find the menu item to do that?

Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are using the Music app to play some albums on your iPod touch, and would like to sort the music by song or genre. You can find some helpful information about browsing and playing music on this page of the the iOS 8 user guide (which applies to both iPhone and iPod touch):
Browse and play - iPhone
The quickest way to sort the music on your iPod touch is by tapping the icons on the bottom of the Music app:
Browse your music by playlist, artist, or other category. For other browse options, tap More. Tap any song to play it.

Wrong GB displayed for number of songs

I have an iPod mini and have always had about the same songs on my itunes and iPod. Ever since I recently updated my iTunes, it changed the number of total GB. I have always been able to fit these songs (958 songs) on my 4.0 GB iPod mini, but now iTunes says that the 958 songs are 6.67 GB, so they do not fit on my 4.0 GB iPod. Why did this suddenly change and can I fix it?

Since I have downloaded the 11.0, I no longer see the song count or size of file at botton of screen.....can I find this somewhere else?

You can sync multiple iPods with one library:

iTunes doesn't know about multiple libraries. You have to tell iTunes which library to use.
If the library was created by iTunes, holding the Option-key on launching iTunes, will enable a menu to choose one.
If you want to switch to another library, quit iTunes and launch again while holding the Option-key
If you created multiple libraries with one of the 3rd party applications I mentioned in my previous post, you have to quit iTunes too, run the app. and launch iTunes again.
The difference is that these apps. not only save the 'iTunes Library' file, but also the preferences file.
iTunes can only manage one library at a time. That's why you have to quit and relaunch.
You can manually manage your iPod with multiple libraries.

ITunes displaying artwork from previous song when playing list.

Since updating to iTunes 10.5.1 yesterday, when streaming a playlist to the AppleTV, it is displaying the artwork from the previous song as it goes through the songs. Ideas?

I'm having the same issue. First song played shows the correct artwork, but then it lags one behind each successive song. I've tried restoring the Apple TV, but that didn't help.

ITunes displaying incorrect library size after upgrade

I just upgraded from iTunes 6. Before I had about 23 or 25gb worth of music, now it says "5474 songs, 14.2 days, 298.18gb." That doesn't make any sense. How can I fix it? That's definitely not the size of my library. Is this going to mess up my iPod if I try to update it?

Is the iTunes library intact on your computer?
Upgrading to OS 3.0 shouldn't have done anything to your iTunes Library on the host computer.
Try a hard reset on your iPhone (hold both the sleep/wake button and home button down until your iPhone restarts. Reconnect the iPhone to iTunes and check the items you have set to sync (click iPhone icon in devices in iTunes then select each tab on the iPhone page within iTunes).
If the above doesn't help, try restoring your iPhone from within iTunes and set the iPhone up again.

Incorrect number of songs listed

My iPod classic 160GB seems to have a minor issue. Everything works fine, but iit has been stuck on 15567 songs (number listed to the right when Music is highlighted) for over 3 months now, and I have added plenty of music and that number doesn't change.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am managing manually. However, I just moved 10 songs over to the iPod, but the number STILL did not change.

ITunes displays incorrectly, unstable...

I just upgraded to 6.0, and now I'm having a strange display issue. See this screenshot:

Minimizing/Maximizing the window makes no difference. The upper menu is there (I can access it using ALT), but isn't visible. Also, if I switch from the mini player back to the full screen view, the entire program crashes.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is or how to fix?

Movies in itunes display incorrectly

a couple of my movies in itunes have mixed their artwork and as a result, one isn't showing at all. A-Team & itunes extras shows up as Starman. Tried deleting and redownloading. Nothing works. Help?

it concerns projects from iMovie (iM11) and they play on QuickTime. It concerns two movies, part one and part 2, different titles. The list in iMovie indicates that both films were released to iTunes, but in iTunes one erases the other and one of them will not show up in the list or on AppleTV. I have no idea why, all other projects sent to iTunes are fine.

Number of "songs available in iCloud" problem

Everytime I update iTunes Match the number of "songs available in iCloud" is 1 extra to the amount of songs in iTunes on my Mac.
For instance I currently have 12089 in iTunes, but updating iTunes Match always says I have 12090 songs available in iCloud.
The weird thing is, if I turn on Match on my iPhone or PC they show the correct number of 12089 songs.
Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to fix it?

So the results are:
Desktop Smart Playlist: 3946 Desktop iTunes Match: 3953
Laptop Smart Playlist: 3946 Laptop iTunes Match: 3953
Beatunes on Laptop: 3946
Conclusion: iTunes Match requires some time (12 hours overnight in this instance) to give a stable result on library content. Beatunes had been running on the laptop in concert with iTunes (iTunes Match enabled).
Assertion: iTunes Match has to be hosted in a distributed form to allow for the massive parallel processing to support the user community. The replication of consistent information across the respective servers / datacentres needs time. It is quite possible that the desktop and laptop had affiliated to separate Apple computing resource.
Outcome: Worth not being alarmed by apparent minor variation in iTunes Match results on Song count. For my library 3946 is an accurate count of the number of Songs, 3953 accounts for other items and a few potential songs with iCloud Status other than Matched, Purchased or Uploaded.

Playlist folders do not contain the correct number of songs

I have many manually generated playlists and I categorize them in a hierarchal manner using folders so that I can click on the folder and see all the songs contained in each of the sub-playlists.
What I've realized recently (although I suspect it's been going on the entire time) is that when I click on the folder it does not contain nearly enough songs. In other words, there are many songs in the contained playlists that do not appear when I click on the containing folder.
I first noticed in iTunes 9, but the problem persists into the newest version of iTunes.

X3, have the same problem. I look in iTunes and the number of songs in 80's espanol is 27. I look in my iPod and it only shows 22, none of them are duplicates. After a random look in various playlists I am missing over 174 so far, and I am not half way through it. I would like to see how to fix this. So far I have reset my iPod, have over 130 GB of free space on it, so I have a feeling it is a bug. The other thing I found is if you find a song that is not in your iPod's playlist, and move it into another playlist it disappears. I am not sure how long it has been this way, one of my playlists I haven't added or deleted and songs from it in over a year, and it there is a difference of 3 songs between what iTunes has and what my iPod has.

On the most up to date version of iTunes, where is the total number of songs displayed, or is it not displayed at all?

I've just had to buy a new laptop and after installing iTunes I found that it was the updated version, and now I haven't a clue where this one feature is. I just want to be able to see my total number of songs.
