ITunes distorts purchased music...

After I downloaded the newest version of iTunes I was unable to listen to my music purchased earlier than this month (april). The audio acts as though it is skipping. My other music--purchased this month or uploaded from CDs--is fine. If anyone knows what is going on or how to fix this, please respond. Thanks.

  • Synced new ipod to itunes, now missing all but itunes store purchased music that is already on my phone

Synced our new ipod nano today to itunes. I don't know what happened but now all but itunes store purchases are in the library, my playlist is gone as well as all the music I had downloaded from my CD's. The iphone 5 still has everything on it but not on my computer. Frustrating!!   Now I'm scared to sync my phone, thinking I may lose all of my library off there as well. How do I get my library back on to my computer so I can transfer that music to my ipod?

Look into iTunes Match, a service from Apple that uploads your music in itunes to the cloud (not icloud) so you can download it to other devices.
    Try googling "itunes match"

  • Itunes Old Purchased music

hey ive been an itunes user since the begining , and as such I have have bought a lot of songs throughout my relationship with itunes
and my music collection is better than average . recently i noticed that some of my old purchases can be converter by merely selecting
and choosing a new option for itunes purchased materials .  WELL AMEN ! .... but , i still have almost 1,000 songs which were too old for
this process . Why shouldnt these songs be converted ? why should i burn a 100 cds when i dont need to ? more then the cd , why should
i waste my own time? and thats what it really comes down to for me , time . am I being punished for being a long time itunes CUSTOMER ?
Why should i do half hack work arounds to get my files completely playable and BURNable ?  so because i didnt buy these songs yesterday ?
im somehow less important , when in fact It was the opposite as with anything , in itunes store , those who were there at its infancy should be honored
    not shunned
all i request is that i can down load these songs again for free , or you can somehow update itunes to allow me to convert them
as if i HAD bought them today
and maybe a smile and a thank you
    and thats it

they are still very much forsale ......
burning 100 cds would take a **** of a lot more time then posting a thread .....
my post was pretty straight forward too

  • New iTunes blocks purchased music import to iMovie

I was in the middle of creating an iMovie, and had added background music, including songs I had purchased on iTunes. Yesterday they imported fine. Today when I opened the project again, I received a message to update my iTunes, which I did. Then I finished my iMovie and, when I went to save the project, I received a message that my computer was no longer authorized to import the songs I had purchased on this computer into my iMovie project. I can understand tightening copyright infringements, but this is ridiculous. It worked yesterday with the old iTunes, and now it doesn't - what a deal on the upgrade! That's why I use a Mac - the ease of creating fun family videos in iMove, including background music of songs I have already purchased! Is there a work - around, or, as someone suggested, a way to "downgrade?"

The past 2 times ITUNES was updated on my G4 10.3.9 I could not access previously purchased music and had to hire help to fix the problem. July 18, my procare instructor quickly updated to ITUNES 7 last week, much to my horror, and sure enough, when I tried to burn an IMOVIE quicktime movie I had been working on for FIVE months to show at my son's wedding, several songs would not play due to "authorization" issues. Other purchased songs did play. Repeatedly I "authorized" the computer to play them, repeatedly it said authorization was successful but flashed another window on top of that one that said my computer was not authorized to play, giving me the same steps I just performed to enable ITUNES songs to play. When this last happened in February, even the man at the Genuis Bar could not fix it. Getting another ID and password did not fix it until Apple fixed it from that end.
Now I have a major movie to show to a banquet room full of guests in another state, and I cannot because of some ITUNES software update glitch.

  • ITunes does not recognize non-iTunes Store-purchased music - Windows 7.

No matter which iTunes Media folder location I select in 'advanced preferences', only songs purchased from the iTunes store are available in iTunes; not any ripped or otherwise downloaded music. This happened three days after downloading the latest iTunes update, after uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, and after moving music from a CD into the default folder location in 'advanced preferences'. After all this, I ripped a new CD in iTunes that played and displayed just fine in iTunes and was placed in the exact same folder as the 80 other CDs that are NOT visible, playable, or available in any other context in iTunes. I am spent. What gives?

Right click on the video in iTunes and select Get Info, go to the video tab and see if you can set Video Kind to Movie
When you managed to get it on the phone and you were able to just hear the sound, did you play the file from the video tab on your phone's ipod?

  • Itunes Sharing Purchased Music DRM

We have sharing on in our office and we can't listen to some songs on library's because they need the users itunes password. How do we remove the DRM or upgrade music that was bought from the itunes store when they had DRM?

Please note that the terms of sale for the iTunes Store say that all purchases are for personal use only. Sharing in a commercial setting is not personal use and so is not allowed, and such use generally would require specific licenses from the copyright owners for use of their music in a commercial setting, even if you were playing CDs. The RIAA and artist's rights associations hire people to visit businesses looking for unlicensed use, so be warned.
    Regards.

  • ITunes store purchased music not showing

today I went into the itunes store and went under music and purchased......blank screen!!  My books, movies, and tv shows are there but not my music.  Anyone else have this happen and did you get it fixed?  Other computer in the house isn't doing it there's is fine. It's working on my iphone and ipod.

Oops sorry I didn't phrase my question right >.< o
What I'm trying to explain is with the new iTunes Store 9.0 when you buy a song it fades out the name to show you have purchased the song. And recently I have purchased the full album in different parts at different times but never pressed the Buy Album button to get the full album at once. Now after I brought the full album all the songs say I have not purchased them or now let me buy them once again, when they are usually faded in the iTunes store like I said before.
So I was wondering why it did that because I wanted the extra feature for the full album. Since I have brought ever song on the album that I completed.
So earlier this year my hard drive failed and I got a new one which I restored with my Time Capsule. And before my hard drive failed I had purchased a few of the songs on the album (with 8.0), and when I installed 9.0, where you can see what songs you have by them being faded them out,it didn't show credit for any of the songs I had purchased before my hard drive failed.
If you need me to re-clarify or need more info feel free to ask ^.^ I did have some trouble writing up the question since it is hard to describe

  • How to use itunes store purchased music in SP?

    Hello,
I know that iTunes store music is copywrited and you can't use it in any commercial product. But I am making a movie of my vacation that maybe 10 of my friends and family will see.
I would like to use my iTunes music in this movie and of course the songs I want are the ones that I bought on the music store.
How would I be able to use those songs in my project? If you can do it in iMovie, you should be able to do it in Soundtrack. If I bought a CD I would be able to!
Are there any kind of utilities to take that lock of the songs?
    D

i haven't actually tried any importing music with drm into STP yet, but in the past on my pc, if drm was causing issue with using an mp3 in certain applications (soundforge was a regular), i'd simply burn the track as audio and extract the audio back from the cd...
a little cheeky but drm should be there to prevent piracy, not hinder the legally paying customer

  • ITunes erasing purchased music from iPhone

    Please help!
I have purchased three songs via the iPhone during the last two months. When I connect my iPhone to my computer the purchased songs are erased without any notification. All other material on my iPhone remains intact (i.e., songs imported from cd's, audio books, movies etc...) If I download songs via my computer/iTunes everything is fine.
    sys info:
    iPhone F/W 1.1.4
    iTunes 7
    Windows XP

Thank you for the quick response.
However, the files/songs never get copied to my computer. (i.e., never synced over to iTunes nor my hard drive) I have performed a complete search and the files just do not exist. The first time this occurred, iTunes support stated that the download was incomplete and reissued a download. I proceeded to download the song via my computer without any issues. To this day it is still in the purchased folder. (Note: after originally downloading the song via iPhone, it worked perfectly on the phone until sync)
This scenario happened again with the last two purchases. Both songs loaded fine to the iPhone via iPhone's iTunes. The songs played on the phone for ever a week and then stopped once i plugged the phone into iTunes via computer.
Do you think I may have a setting that is hampering my songs from being copied from my iPhone to my computer?
I would like to get this cleared up before I try to download another song via my iPhone.
    thanks,
    BBB

  • Re-Authorize Itunes to purchase Music

I put in a new credit card for the I tunes store and for some reason a box appears telling me I need to contact customer service to re-authorize my purchase, when I do this it just doesn't work. Any thoughts, what am i missing or not seeing in the how to?
    g5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Can you copy and paste the exact error message you're getting? I've never heard of such an error message.
If your credit card is simply not being accepted, make sure all your account information is correct. To check it, visit the following website:

Any tiny difference between the address listed here and the billing address listed on your credit card could cause a funky error.

  • Purchased music saga across multiple devices!!  Oh and greyed out iTunes tracks!!

Ok, this has been bugging me for a while now!  This post spans many common questions regarding the iTunes store, purchased music held within iCloud and how that purchased music relates to multiple iOS devices.  I cannot work out how this is all supposed to fit together and I honestly believe there is some fundamental issues with either my account or the system as a whole.  To explain I am going to use my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air 2nd generation to show you the current situation.
Ok, below is my iTunes store music purchases, as viewed in iTunes on my Mac Mini.  31 albums in total, some may not be full albums as it may have been a single that I bought from an album.
Ok, both my iPhone and iPad are set to "Manually manage music and videos" in iTunes and all music has been deleted from them both via Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage.  There is ZERO music held on either device, neither manually moved there from iTunes or downloaded to the devices from my purchases in the cloud (the 31 albums above).
Ok, within Settings > Music on both devices, "Show All Music" is off.  This should mean that if I go into the Music app on both devices, my device should show no content.  My understanding is correct about this yes?  Here is the result on each device.
iPad: This is to be expected
iPhone: Something is wrong here (8 albums showing in total)
None of the above can be swiped left to delete and all play while in airplane mode so they ARE stored locally!  They may have been synced to the iPhone in the past via iTunes, however now they should not be there.
The questions here:  Why are they on my iPhone?  Why has the first album been split (if I add it manually to my iPad using iTunes then it goes on as one album)?
More importantly, how do I get rid of them?  They don't show as present in iTunes when connected, they don't show in "Manage Storage" and I can't swipe left to delete.
Moving on!  I will now turn on "Show All Music" on my iPad.  I expect now to see all music purchased from the iTunes store, i.e. the 31 album's.
Nope! I now see 29 albums and 1 of those will be the split album so 28 in total.  Where is the other 3 shown in iTunes purchases?  Hang on, see below the first album?  Professor Green! I bought that from iTunes come to think of it but it doesn't show as one of my 31 albums!  The same can be said for the other 21 albums that now appear!  8 that seem to be stuck and 21 more when "Show All Music" is turned on.  The 31 albums showing in my iTunes as purchases are nowhere to be seen!!
Also worth noting is that Cream Club Anthems 2012 is also split into 2 albums on my iPad displaying whats in iCloud so not just on the music that seems to be stuck on my iPhone.  Sigh!
Ok, on my iPhone, when I turn on "Show All Music" i get the exact same 29 albums as shown above on my iPad.
So 2 issues based on this!  My purchases in the cloud are not complete and have split one album, this is proved by my iPad showing no content when "Show All Music" is turned off.  Second is that when I turn that setting off on my iPhone, I am left with albums on my device, despite all music being deleted and one of the "sticky" albums is split into 2 albums.
I will throw this one in too.  "Show All Music" set to off and all music deleted by iTunes and swiping left on my iPhone.  Connect to iTunes and have a look what is on my device!  What the **** is all this crap?  Can't be deleted and definitely not present on the device!
Not good enough Apple.  I have seen multiple threads with people asking questions relating to all the above and no one has given a comprehensive answer as to why this happens!  I use Apple products exclusively now as everything is supposed to fit together seemlessly.  As you can see from above, it just doesn't!

I am assuming someone at Apple has seen this as today all my music shows with "Show All Music" selected.  However, the split album is still split and when I turn off the aforementioned setting the 8 albums still show.
It's reminding me of the old Windows Media Player days!

  • ITunes purchased music not found in library

Hi there, maybe someone can help me, I'm having MANY annoying problems with my itunes both before and after the 2015 update.  Problems with both music purchased directly from iTunes and from cd uploaded music.  Main concern is inaccessible music purchased from iTunes:
*The other day, I noticed about 1500 songs from my library would not play within the iTunes program.  These are from previously uploaded CD's and mp3's, and then I noticed also iTunes music, when attempting to play would give the error "unable to locate file/locate now".  Sure I guess I can re-upload the hundreds of CD's (sigh), but I'm mostly concerned about the inaccessible music I bought and paid for from Apple.
I tried some online research and found the Account Tab->Purchased within iTunes desktop program, to re-download...however this didn't  fix the problem because some of the iTunes purchased songs having the "no-play/can't locate" issue were not showing up as "Not in My Library"... And it appears you can only re-download with the cloud button, music that isn't already in your library.  But when you go to play them you get the error message and it shows an exclamation point by the check mark box.  Some of these inaccessible songs however, will play on my iPhone and some will not.
*Next issue, I also cannot locate MANY of these iTunes purchased songs/albums on my hard drive either (I am using a windows 8 computer). Very frustrating when music I bought from Amazon is saved securely to my hard drive and is also playable on ITUNES.  Apple's music won't even play on their own friggin program, but Amazon mp3's will???
*Next issue.  I applied the new updates to my phone and my iTunes program hoping to correct the issues.  This did nothing.  I opted NOT to use Cloud at the moment for privacy concerns.  Could this be adding to the issue with the iTunes music?
I also have over 100 songs that want to be re-downloaded from the iTunes application on my phone in order to allow those tracks to be available on my phone.  I went from my phone into iTunes->More->Purchased->Music to find these.  Do I have to go through each artist individually to re-download them all?
As you can see, getting very frustrated with Apple and their constantly malfunctioning softwares.  Is this an issue I need to take with me to the Apple store?  I went in before for iTunes issues and they said they wouldn't help me because I'm not using a Mac computer but a PC and they don't help people that use PC's, even though my iPhone5S and hundreds of iTunes tracks are from THEM.  Should I just throw in the towel and buy a Samsung next time? Spending my whole day trying to figure this stuff out when it should be accessible being that I already PAID for all of this music, such awful software, jeeze louise.

    Hello JackieVall213,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that your purchased music has not downloaded automatically after pre-ordering an album.  Please take a look at the information below on how to download pre-orders from iTunes if you do not have automatic downloads enabled.
    Download a pre-ordered item
When a pre-ordered item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know that you can download your pre-order.
If you enabled the option to automatically download prepurchased content in iTunes, then your pre-ordered content may already be in your library. If not, click the download link provided in your email notification, and your pre-ordered content will begin to download. You can also use the Check for Available Downloads feature in iTunes on your computer (choose Store > Check for Available Downloads) to begin downloading your pre-order.
iTunes Store: About pre-orders - Apple Support
Enable Automatic Downloads - Apple Support
    Take care,
