Itunes dj not in playlists
i have just recently started using itunes (Version 10.2.2.14, 64 bit, windows 7). I want to use the itunes dj, but it does not appear in the playlists (neither does party shuffle or any other similar thing I've read about). This is the pc I have all my music on. I have another pc on the network that does not have the music on it that the dj does appear on. What is up?
I was able to find the answer in a previous post. Thanks,

Itunes does not update playlists properly on the ipod touh 4g - help??
Hi Guys,
Newbie here. Thanks for the help in advance.
I have an ipod touch 4g with the latest 5.1 OS update and the latest itunes installed 10.6.1.7 on my computer.
I usually make and edit playlists on my computer/itunes and then sync it with the ipod.
Lately what itunes has started doing is that it syncs the songs and other things like i want to but when it comes to playlists it will either sync playlists to the ipod with a couple of songs missing from the original playlists or only a couple of songs or just a playlist with no songs . The playlists look fine on the itunes but not on the ipod. The songs are physically there on the ipod and it syncs them fine but not the playlists. Some playlists are okay other are not. No consistency. Sometimes this and sometimes that.
Has anybody got any ideas why it is likely doing this?? software screwup?? some option that i am not selecting or something??okay, I don't know about the rest, but about the songs never actually loading onto your iPod, I found in another discussion how to fix that. I'm using Windows 7, so I don't know if the steps are the same, but the end result is the same. So go into your Start menu, then into accessories, right click 'Command Prompt' and click 'Run as administrator'. Then type in the following: netsh winsock reset then press Enter. After a few seconds it should tell you to to restart your computer for changes to take effect. Restart your computer, then restart iTunes, then everything should be working fine. It still takes forever sometimes to update the iPod, but eventually it will work. I've had to do this multiple times, so I'd suggest copying & pasting this solution into a notepad or Word document and saving it on your computer, so you don't have to go through the discussions again to find it. This tends to happen to me nearly every day unfortunately Hope this fixes that problem, but I'm not having any of the other problems fortunately, except for removing the artwork of the songs it updates without me asking it too. PS I think my problem may be with iOS 5, because iTunes 10.5 came out before iOS 5, and I think everything was fine before I updated my iPod, but I really don't know where the problem lies

Itunes will not sync playlist with iphone
I have playlists currently synced with my iphone. I check another playlist to add and it and itunes goes through the syncing motions but does not add the playlist to the iphone. There is over 4gb of space and the mp3's are available on my pc. If I remove a playlist from the iphone it does get removed but it will not sync back. There are no errors displayed. Itunes 8.2.0.23 and Iphone os is 3.0.
I realize that but it does not Sync back when it has only Podcasts and if it has other then only the songs and not Podcasts sync back to desk. Songs work exactly as you describe.
My point is that at least I can go on a long hike without having to start each group of Podcasts Subscriptions after it finishes the episodes in the previous one. That can be a real pain, especially on long hikes with short Podcasts. It takes a very short time to set up the on the go. I DO NOT LIKE THIS but it seems the only answer for now.
I could restore the old version from my image backup then lose the neat new feature of arranging screens on the PC instead of the POD. -
New Operating System Installed - iTunes does not have playlists
GM. I am a semi ipod user. I had to have my os reinstalled and now that i have downloaded itunes again, it appears that i am unable to bring the playlists on my ipod onto itunes? i guess i was supposed to "back-up" my itunes and did not. i do not want to synch because it looks like i will lose everything on my ipod. so i'm wondering if there is a way to re-create from my ipod back to my itunes screen. any links or specific information would be appreciated as i'm sure it will take me awhile to figure this all out. thanks
This may help:

Has anyone got a solution to itunes 11 not generating playlists?
I used to be able to generate genius play lists from iTunes by clicking on the arrow to the right of the song title. This has become hit and miss - some songs will form the basis of a list, others will not and I am told 'no genius suggestions'. The most recent example is 2 songs from the same album bought from the store. One works, one doesn't.
Does anyone have any suggestions to put this right?
TYHi DanielHankey,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, this article may help:

If issues persist, a thorough removal and reinstall of iTunes would be the next thing to try:

Itunes will not sync playlists
i just got a new computer (OS windows vista home basic). i keep my itunes directory stored on an external hard drive. i backed up my itunes library and was able to import it into my newly installed itunes with no problems whatsoever. all of my music seems to be present and all my previous playlists, as well. my ipod synced the music -- its all there if i look under artists or albums, however, the only playlists listed are the 6 itunes playlists (90s music, music videos, my top rated, recently added, recently played, and top 25). i've tried re-syncing it, i tried manually syncing just my playlists (when i did that, only 2 of the itunes playlists were listed...), but nothing has worked.
why won't my playlists sync up? any ideas??
-drakeWhat kind of iPod do you have? Is the playlist that you are trying to add posessing completely new songs? In other words, are the songs already on itunes somewhere else or are they JUST added and they wont transfer over to the ipod?
Try just making a new playlist with nothing in it, just simply make a new playlist then update your iPod, do this with the iPod disconnected. Try resetting your iPod as well. -
Itunes will not accept playlist from old ipod touch
Recently purchased a new Ipod touch. Gave my old one to a friend and when they tried to sync it with their computer. An error message came up "shared playlist not allowed. Gave an option of erase and sync. Not sure what to do.
It has nothing to do with iCloud. The sync should handle it.

ITunes will not burn playlists after loading the ION USB Turntable software
Loaded EZ vinyl converter, which allows copying of LPs and importing them into ITunes. All went well with first album and it can be played on my computer. I cannot burn a disc- either the LP I loaded or music already there.
The discs are good.
Any others with this issue?
Any solutions? All my LP downloads go well and they sound great over the computer's speakers, but I can't burn anything, either from iTunes or from Windows Media Player.
I even deleted the turntable software and tried burning, with no luck.
And, I haven't gotten a response from the ION folks.
I don't want to take the computer to my local fixer, only to find that there's a simple software solution. -
Please read the title; itunes match has removed my playlists on itunes and iphone and the songs that are supposedly 'matched' on itunes are not showing up on my iphone.
Any Really annoyed about thisiTunes Match does not have the ability to remove local files.
The service operates by comparing the selected iTunes Library with the iTunes Store content and 'matching' or 'uploading' - it is very straightforward a 'match' provides equivalent access to iTunes Store content as a recognised 'purchase'; upload simply copies a 256k AAC variant into the cloud. There are no elements of this activity that can erase the local library content.
Would suggest you explore possible alternative causes of file loss. Given the pattern described of selective deletion, leaving many Songs intact - would suggest making at least 2 secure offline Song file backups and starting the library again from a fresh install of iTunes once a thorough sweep of the system has been completed for virus. It is also worth assessing the physical security of the system - who has access & with what privileges.
To access Songs from the cloud, you would have to manually delete the Song from the library or open an empty library - so even when accessing content, iTunes Match provides no local deletion capability. -
The latest version of iTunes does not allow me to open a playlist in a separate window. I need this feature. Is there another way? You used to be able to double click a playlist and have it appear in a new window.
Others have commented on this too. It seems to be one of the 'improvements' of the newer version you are supposed to embrace with joy as an exciting new development. You can send feedback to Apple but realize you may be perceived as standing in the path of progress.

my computer hard drive died rather suddenly so i had no chance to do a back up or any thing. i put itunes on my new computer and got my purchased music but my ipod will not sync and i cannot get my playlists onto the computer. is there any way to get my playlists on my new computer and also get my ipod to sync. it is a waste of time to purchase new music and i do not want to purchase a new ipod since i have so much memory left on this one.
Thank you all for your replies. Here is what i ended up doing. I cannot afford any 3rd party software so i went to itunes and manually entered all my playlists. As I had indicated my purchased music was on my new computer just not the playlists and I could not sync my ipod. After I rebuilt all my playlists I tried to restore my ipod to factory defaults/new. All of the steps called for in apple support and elsewhere were not available to me. I connected my ipod, went to my computer, right clicked my ipod, and formatted. That wiped my ipod so when I connected to itunes it then gave me a restore option. I did the restore and all is good in the empire again. I can now buy new music and sync my ipod so I am a happy camper.
Thanks to all. -

I have tried several ways to transfer my itunes library and Playlists to a new computer. I get the music library but not the playlists. Can you advise?
2nd > I purchased 21 new tunes yesterday on the new computer> worked great> but when I made a disc to transfer the playlist. I get the music but no album info just 1,2,3,etc. So I have signup both computers to share thinking that would work. But no to that also.
Please advise.
