ITunes DJ same songs twice in following

It has to be a known problem and there has to be a simple solution:
How can I prevent iTunes DJ from playing a second time the same song right after the first time?
There has to be a way to prevent the same Song being played twice a day!
Please somebody tell me how.

really? it happens to me all the time. I was asking me, if that could still be accidentally. (500 Titels should not be a large list, but it isn't a short one)
Thank you for your hint. I thought about your idea, but it has 2 Problems:
1. I have to generate a new list for every list I want to use with DJ.
2. The Problem isn't solved completly, because the last-played-date is updated after the next song was picked and that could then be right the song which was played the moment before.
It's annoying me since I got the first Version of iTunes and please don't tell me, I'm the only one who has a Problem with that!

  • HT204053 my wife and i have seperate itunes accounts is there a way we can link our accounts to share songs so we dont have to pay for the same song twice?

When the first ipad came out i set it up and created an itunes account, since then she got an iphone and an ipad and everything was good. I had an android but wanted to try out the iphone. When i set it up ut jumpled all of our contacts, apps, and everythin. it was a mess.
Since, i purchased and ipad 2 and an iphone and to keep our stuff from combing i used a different computer and created an new apple ID for myself so our info wouldnt combine, I was wondering if i did the right thing or if i should have went about it a different way. I was going to see if there was a way when she purchased a song i could get it. I dont want to pay for the same song twice and only want to share songs. If i cant do this can i copy her library and paste it into my itunes??
Any help wouldl be greatly apprecieated we both have icloud set up but i cant figure out the best solution.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

    Hi, sarabette.
I would recommend reporting a problem with the purchase via the steps in the article below.  You can either do this via the email invoice received or by accessing your purchase history.

  • Itunes syncing same songs

itunes syncs same songs that i already have in my library. can someone please tell me how to stop this?

Me too. Any song or video I recently played on iTunes, syncs when I connect my Touch to my Mac. I already have the songs/videos in the Touch. Why does it sync them again?

  • ITunes copies some songs twice onto IPod for no apparent reason?

I've noticed that my IPod/Itunes sometimes copies songs twice into my IPod. I used to manually manage music, but I just changed to sync mode in hopes that it stops copying music twice. I just wanted to know if theres a way to fix it or if its unavoidable. Using Itunes 7.0.2 and have an 2g 8gb ipod nano.

A spelling or punctuation mistake, or sometimes a trailing space usually causes this after the artists and/or song name, which fools the iPod into thinking that there are two different artists or songs. The trailing space is the hardest to spot.
Best way to cure this is to go into iTunes, highlight that artist and/or songs, right click on them and select "get info".
This brings up the multiple song info window. In the artist or song box retype the name, as you would like it, and then click ok. Do this even if no mistakes are immediately visible.
Re sync this new artist/song info to your iPod.

  • Why does my iPhone 4 play same song twice?

why does my iPhone 4 play same song twice?

I had the same issue in my 2012 Nissan Altima.  It was a function in my car's stero settings.  I had to go to the car's iPhone/iPod settings when the iPhone was plugged into the USB.  My settings come up automatically when I plug in and I can scroll through the commands to "Shuffle" songs.  Hope this helps.

  • Purchase Same Song Twice

My daugther and I download iTunes music onto separate computers but from the same iTunes account. Before I installed iTunes 9, I could download onto my computer a song that she had purchased before for her computer, even though I had to pay for it a second time. This avoided my having to ask her for a copy. With iTunes 9, I do not get the option of downloading the same song again, even if I want to pay for it. The song reads "Purchased" and does not allow a download option. I called iTunes support and I was told to download the latest version of iTunes 9 (iTunes 9.2). I was told that this version had an option to purchase a song more than once (something version 9.1 did not have). However, it does appear to have this option.
Does anybody know how to get around this easily without having to share music or transfer by CD? Is there a way to download twice even if I have to pay?

Why not copy what you want from one computer to the other, either by temporarily turning on Home Sharing, or else by using a USB flash drive.

  • ITunes plus loop. Upgrade song, download song, iTunes finds same song...

I seem to be stuck in an endless iTunes plus upgrade loop. iTunes Plus finds a song to upgrade I pay the $.30 I download the song. When I visit iTunes it finds the same song. To try and get out of the loop I buy the same song again. When I try to download it, it gives me an error message. I go to my account and hit the problem button. I receive and e-mail saying problem has been fixed. I go back to iTunes Plus and the same song is there, I buy it again (even though I've already bought it and successfully downloaded it), the loop begins again. I actually have 2 accounts and it's doing this on both of them. The second was created when I couldn't remember my user name. Different account, different song, same loop. I think there should be a lot of new stuff available to upgrade but I'm stuck in this loop and so I'm afraid I'll never see it.
Apple support gives me 3 or 4 answers to non-related questions and the only input I am asked for is to rate how well thayve answered my question. Well they haven't and I don't want to waste (even more) time on something that is not going to address this issue.
Is anyone else experiencing a loop like this?

I've visited the online support and was presented with a few itunes problems none of which are even close to my issue. I chose one and received an e-mail requesting screenshots of the problem. I sent in the screen shots and received another e-mail stating this is a technical issue and not a billing issue and given a phone number to call. I've called the phone number and was told by the tech support that this was not a hardware issue, that they could recommend I reinstall iTunes and authorize and de-authorize my computer.
While I was on the phone with tech support I visited iTunes and noticed the offending iTunes plus upgrade had disappeared as well as the additional songs recommended to me as being available to upgrade. I searched out the album and was told that I had already purchased this and was I sure I wanted to purchase it again? Actually I had purchased the DRM version and wanted to upgrade to the non-DRM version but this was not an option available to me. I chose not to purchase it again. As I told the tech support guy, if I'm going to purchase an item twice then I'm going to purchase it elsewhere so that I can get a better quality file ie FLAC WAV or at least 320 kbps. Unfortunately I've already spent a bunch of money repurchasing items that I'd purchased at iTunes before realizing that they would not play on other software on my computer...
I de-authorized and reauthorized both accounts, no difference. I'm going to try reinstalling iTunes and if that doesn't work I'm just going to give up on it. This is way too much trouble to replace a 128 kbps file with a 256 kbps file. I would have to say that I love Apple they make some great products but as is the case with most companies nowadays their customer support is sorely lacking. I'm exiting the infinite loop and going to continue purchasing my music online from other companies that do a better job and offer a better product...

  • Hi i keep downloading the same song twice on different things, these collections and regular albums are confusing...i lost all my media and trying to get it back and now 2 of the same song is up...why cant support be a little helpful?

is Apple going bankrupt again, they seem to not wanna be bothered, is there a way to EMAIL, im not into calling and it says my calls have expired....why cant Apple be a little helpful, im a little upset with them and wanna throw my ipod touch across the room -  i dont want 2 of the same songs anymore, i dont wanna be charged twice these bands are making it very difficult to remember the last album i had this stuff on....i dont know my music anymore it keeps changing

Perhaps, if you stop ranting - and stop typing in capitals (which is regarded as shouting), then you may get somewhere. But since I'm so nice...
A good place to start for help is here, in these discussions and then proceed by explaining the probelm clearly.
Let's start by crossing out anything that isn't relevant:
is Apple going bankrupt again, they seem to not wanna be bothered, is there a way to EMAIL, im not into calling and it says my calls have expired....why cant Apple be a little helpful, im a little upset with them and wanna throw my ipod touch across the room - i dont want 2 of the same songs anymore, i dont wanna be charged twice these bands are making it very difficult to remember the last album i had this stuff on....i dont know my music anymore it keeps changing
So, are we to assume that a band you like, produce albums with songs on them that you already have, on other albums?
If so, that's down to the band, not Apple. The only answer to that is that you should check for yourself whether you already have a particular song and if you do, don't buy it again. However, you should also consider that buying the full album (with a song you don't want) may be cheaper than buying the individual songs that you do want.

  • ITunes copying same songs and apps every sync

Every single time I sync my iPhone 4s (iOS 6) to iTunes 11 (OS 10.6.8) it copies the same songs and apps to my iTunes. Like right now it says "Syncing Danielle's iPhone (Step 5 of 5)" and right below that "Copying 8 of 10: MC3" (which stands for the app, Modern Combat 3). No more than 5 minutes ago I was syncing my iPhone and it was copying that app (it takes forever too because it's a big file). All I changed was adding some calendar events on my macbook in iCal then I wanted to sync it again real quick and it's copying all of these files again that it just did.
One of the problems could be that I have it removed from my iPhone but it's still checkmarked in iTunes? I can't see how that would be practical though. I would think that if I deleted a song on my iPhone, or deleted an app, that when it connected to iTunes next it would make a note that I don't want it on my phone anymore. Anyone know the source of the issue?

Some other program is interfering with itunes saving its database file.
    iTunes Library.itl
This is really common for Sony Vaio users running Vista. Either disable the Vaio's music service program (VCFw.exe), or uninstall it, as Evert Yntema chose to do.
    See this post
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8545376&#8545376
And for folks who don't have a Vaio, the next biggest culprit is security or backup software scanning the itunes folders. You need to configure
    Norton/Symantec
    McAfee
    Kaspersky
    ESET NOD
    IObits
    Windows Live OneCare
    Carbonit
    Mozy
or whatever software you've got installed to ignore the itunes folder or specifically, that ITL file.
If you're getting tons of TMP files, something is interfering with itunes saving the ITL file. A workaround is to same that ITL file to a different folder or USB drive just before you close itunes.

  • Can't take songs off puter without itunes taking same songs off ipodnano :(

I can't keep all of my music on my puter due to space. I put CDs on my puter then onto ipod then remove CDs from puter but then when I connect, and itunes syncs, it removed previously installed CDs. I am new to ITUNES so how can I install songs onto ipod and just leave them on the ipod regardless of whats on my computer when I connect and itunes syncs?
Thank you for your time and help.

You can do this if you turn off automatic synchronization. Connect your iPod and go to the iPod Options and select the "Manually manage" option. It will then not automatically remove the items from the iPod if you delete them from iTunes. You'll have to drag songs and videos from your library or playlist to iPod in the Source list to add new tracks.
Note that it's not a good idea to depend solely on your iPod to have your only copy of items that you've purchased from the iTunes Store or that would otherwise be difficult to replace. I strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of such material (on CD, DVD, or an external hard drive) before you delete it from iTunes.
