ITunes.dmg on desktop
When try to open Itunes, it do not find the library and appear this icon in the desktop "iTunes.dmg". This is not the first time it happend, after add all the info it occur again. Why it happend and how to avoid it?

I tried totalfinder before i upgraded to lion and i guess i did not make a clean uninstal so i downloaded the total finder dmg file and used the uninstaler and that solved my problem
The uninstaler did relaunch the finder wich could also been the fix
So i suggest you try and relaunch your finder
Here is how you relaunch your finder incase you dont know
Click on the apple logo in the top left corner select Force Quit and then select finder in the fore quit menu and click relaunch -
Is there a future upgrade or availability to read eBooks purchased from iTunes on my desktop or laptop Mac?
If not, I am just going to get the free Kindle application and buy all of my ebooks from Amazon as I can read them on any Mac.
I purchased a book from Apple yesterday so that I could read it as a break during my work day at my office and it would not open. I checked and sure enough, you can't read books on your desktop Mac using Apple software. I tried the Adobe Digital software and a couple of others but the protection on the ebook prevented anything but my iPad or, if I had one, iPhone from reading it.
Considering that I spent many thousands on getting the best Macs for work and only hundreds on the pad, it is just a little irritating that I can't read a book on the pro machinery but can on the consumer toy.We don't know what Apple plans on doing to change this (and it may not be just Apple but more likely the publishers, since Apple would, of course, do whatever it could to maximize sales/profits). Right now you can only read Apple books on mobile devices. Sure, buy them from Amazon if you want to read them on the computer. We don't work for Apple so we're pretty impartial on this kind of advice.
You might also see what your library can offer. My wife can browse the county library from her iPhone, borrow e-versions, and read books on it too. Free! -
The Remote App on my Ipad does not connect to Itunes on my Desktop
I cannot get the Remote App on my Ipad to connect with Itunes on my desktop. The Ipad tells me to turn on Home Sharing in Itunes on my computer but home sharing is already turned on on my computer. Also, my Ipad does not show up on my Desktop.

I appreciate that re-downloading is only available in the US and then only with certain content. However content that cannot be re-downloaded is not offered for purchase on the Apple TV. -

The whole story: I tried to transfer my iTunes library via Homeshare from my desktop to my laptop but not all of my library imported. Both computers are authorized and almost all of the 99GB of music was imported from my own cds. I couldn't tell what was missing and I figured a computer person would have an easy way to figure this out. In the meantime, I added about 20-25 more cds to the library on the laptop. I had a computer guy come out because I wanted to merge the two libraries so I can get rid of the desktop. He dragged and dropped several folders onto the external hard drive and then dragged and dropped those into my music folder on the laptop. Now I have a big mess! I have tons of duplicates, but the entire library didn't duplicate so I am still not sure if all of my music made it over. He wants to delete all of the duplicates but I explained that I don't want to break up albums and I had already gone through the process of finding "exact duplicates" and deleting those on the desktop before I started all of this. I talked to a Geek Squad guy at Best Buy who suggested I delete everthing from the laptop and start over. He wants me to open iTunes on my desktop and select all, then drag that to a new folder on the external hard drive. Then reinstall iTunes on the laptop and drag and drop that folder into it. I have no idea what to do at this point. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Please know that I am not very computer literate so please type slowly so that I will understand ;-) Thanks
Sidenote: I did sign up for IMatch and had Apple scan both libraries. Not all of my music showed up there either. I am missing entire albums, etc. and I have not reached the maximum limit, 25,0000 songs. Should I purchase TuneUp Media to fix any metadata once I get my complete library onto my laptop? I just want my entire library together, in one place so that I can move forward and back it up properly. Thanks for any help.Delete whatever was imported to the new computer via HomeSharing.
Stop using HomeSharing to move content.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Launch iTunes.
Everything in iTunes on the new computer will be exactly as it was on the old computer. -
Can I move my iTunes music to a device with a different Apple ID using iTunes library on desktop?
I'm going to be getting a new iPhone real soon and I'm going to create a new Apple ID. The one that I'm currently using now will be handed over to another with respected agreements. I was just wondering if I could still move the music purchases with this ID to my phone that will have a different one using iTunes library on desktop.

Note that you can only sync with one iTunes library/computer but you can "sync" music and videos from more than one iTunes library/computer.

The iTunes on my desktop is no longer recognizing any of my devices (iPads, iPods, or iPhones). I am unable to sync. And when I connect a device I am asked on the device if I "Trust this Computer". When I hit "Trust" nothing happens. Help?

Wanted to sync up my new IPhone4, and thought that I should make sure I had the most up to date version of ITunes on my desktop first. Tried to get on site, and got an error message saying; "The folder ITunes is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder." Cannot get on ITunes at all now. Help! Thx.

IPod nano (version 1.3.1) won't appear in iTunes or on desktop
Hi everyone. I have had my iPod Nano for about a year, and I've never had any problems until a few days ago, when, for a few hours, my Mac Mini basically seemed to stop recognizing that there was an iPod attached to it. I've tried other USB devices which have all worked fine. My computer at work has no trouble with the iPod (and I used the same cable with both computers).
The problem went away on its own that same night, but now it's back.
The strangest part of the whole thing is that sometimes when I attach the iPod to the computer now (since the problem re-surfaced), it will start charging. So, the iPod seems to know that the computer is there, and seems to be able to charge from that, but the iPod still doesn't show up in iTunes or on the desktop.
I've already tried the "Rs" solutions that Mac Help suggests first. None of them solved anything. Any help would be very much appreciated, because I miss podcasts!Try checking out the information on this article, and see if it helps with your issue:

I tried to upgrade to ios4 by plugging my Ipad into Itunes on my desktop. I got an error message as it was downloading. Now my Ipad won't turn on at all. All I get is a pic of the plug and an arrow pointing to the Itunes logo. I tried to reset, but nothing works. When I try to plug the Ipad into my desktop and access Itunes, my Ipad doesn't show up on the Itunes screen.

for the first time i want to sync music from the itunes on my desktop to my iPod touch 5th gen. it kept taking forever to back up! is backing up needed? all i wanna do is sync the music and the back up is taking way too long....
