ITunes does not load - No error indicators

Since updating to 10.x I cannot open iTunes. I have never had a problem prior to the autoupdate of iTunes just recently.
I have reinstalled completely by uninstalling iTunes and Apple Application Support and then reinstalling from downloaded file. I have also turned off all anti-everything, the network and ran Malwarebytes with no malware indicated.
I cannot update my iPhone and am concerned about losing all the music I have previously organized.
Thanks for any help.

Some questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits with error-message-free iTunes launch failures.
(1) Does your QuickTime Player launch, or do you get an error message of some kind when you try to launch that?
(2) If your QuickTime seems to be launching fine, try (by way of experiment) disabling the BonJour Service.
In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?
If iTunes launches with the BonJour Service disabled, by any chance do you have a recent version of IOBit's Advanced SystemCare utility currently installed on the PC? If so, try uninstalling and reinstalling Advanced SystemCare. Can you launch iTunes without having to disable the BonJour Service now?

  • Itunes does not load

When I try to launch iTunes, I get a dialog box stating:
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder." with a button to 'OK'
It doesn't load. So frustrating. I can't believe it won't load. iTunes is located in "my Music" folder.
    What gives? Please help?

From this post: bcolls, "iTunes program cannot find iTunes folder", 12:28pm Oct 10, 2005 CDT
I had this problem, too, and it took quite some time until I found the reason - at least on my computer.
Can you check whether the MyMusic folder given in the registry is the same as the one you think it is? Start regedit and go to HkeyCurrentUser -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Explorer -> UserShellFolders. There you should find a key 'MyMusic'. In my case this was pointing to a non-existing location.
The problem is, that iTunes uses this settings, but - different from other programs - does not allow the users to change that on startup.

    Try this document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2690
It generally has to do with virus or firewall software.

  • ITunes does not load after upgrading to 7.4.2!

Installed iTunes 7.4.2 just right now. When I try to start it, all it will do is quickly flash "iTunes" in the menu bar without starting; sometimes not even that will occur. I opened the Activity Monitor to watch the app; iTunes does appear to start when I double-click by showing up in the monitor; however, after a few seconds it disappears.
    Anybody know what's going on?

Do you have QuickTime 7.2 installed from the Apple website?
Make sure to remove any "hackies", betas, and ShapeShifter, if installed.
Go to /Library/Receipts/drag iTunesX.pkg to the trash and empty.
    Repair permissions ..... RESTART
Reinstall iTunes 7.4.2 (Mac) from the Apple website +without performing any other processes during the download or install!+

  • ITunes does not load my library

Hello I have MBP and I also have a Windows work machine that I built, I copies my itunes library from my MBP to my Windows machine (Windows 7). I recently upgraded my work machine with a 120GB SSD as a boot drive and kept my 1TB 7200RPM HDD as a data drive. When I reinstalled the itunes application and whent into Edit>Preferences>Advanced>F:\Users\[User name]\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media. Then I clicked "Organize itunes media" however once I close the prefence pane the library does not show up. Some more information is that F: is my data drive, and when i navigate through windows exploror to my media library and manualy play a song [by clicking on it in its folder] it opens in itunes and plays just fine, however since I have quite an extensive library and I do not want to to this for every song. Thank you.

    1. What version of Mac OS X is running on the Macbook. iOS is not a computer operating system.
    2. The iTunes app is in the Applications folder on the computer's hard drive.
    3. Double click the app in the Applications folder.
When iTunes is running click Store in the menu bar. This will show a dropdown list. Select what you want from that list.

  • Resinstalling Itunes does not fix the error? It won't let me play my audible books because 'itunes was not installed correctly', so I reinstalled it and it still won't work. I'm lost, any suggestions?

I recently moved my itunes to a new computer. The audible stuff doesn't automatically come up because its not purchased from the itunes store. So I opened the files with itunes on my new computer. It said that I had to authorise my audible account on this computer which I did, but then itunes came up with the following:
'Could not authorise this computer because iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.'
So I uninstalled then reinstalled iTunes and it still didn't work, I then did it again and it STILL DIDN'T WORK.
I have absolutely no idea what to do now, so if anyone has any advice it would greatly appreciated.

When uninstalling iTunes on your windows computer, there is a specific way it must be done in order to completely uninstall all components of the software.  Ensure you follow the article for your correct OS.

    hi Chris!

if you're running Norton Internet Security 2005, and you've getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to open itunes, then NIS 2005 is our prime suspect.
    let's first try this document:
iTunes 6 won't open on a Windows computer if firewall software is not up-to-date
... but if no joy with that, let's try the trusty Lorraine M technique:

    Ankit,
Thanks so much for your help. Let me explain the scenario iam in and what i want. we have a master repository and three wr's . I am presntly working on schema x in dev. I created interface i in x and generated a scenario for this.I exported this scenario and imported into the operator of qa. I have a schema x in qa too. but this schema is empty..has no objects. I executed the imported scenario in qa operator. It ran well but executed the same in x schema of dev. In the execution option i have selected the qa context and agent as local. b)I executed the scenario again this time with qa context and qa agent as well. this time the operator hung up. I was wondering if i need to have the same target table in qa schema to execute this scenario..
Also, how are we going to tell the execute file(scenario) that it needs to execute in x schema in qa environment. is it by selecting the agent that connects to the qa environment? Please clarify..thanks so much once again for your help..
    regards,
    Babu

  • My iTunes does not update the album covers properly.

I have the album covers in the same file location as the MP3 songs, and each album is located in a different file location, but iTunes does not load my album covers automatically. half the time I have to load the album cover from my library manually.
I have authorised the computer, re-installed iTunes, manually selected all songs and updated album covers in the advace section. Nothing works.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

  • Itunes library not loading after upgrading

Please help:  I had to upgrade my itunes when I plugged in my Iphone and now it won't sync.  No matter what I plug in (Ipad, Ipad2, Iphone or Ipod) the only thing that happens is the Iphotos will pop up and recognize that I have plugged in my device, but the Itunes does not load and sync.  I don't know if I did something wrong, put when it asked if I wanted to use Icloud I clicked no.  I don't know if that is my problem now or what. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it, as I am lost!
    Thanks, Debbie.

Are you following the instructions from this article in the Apple Knowledge Base, in particular the renaming of the .itl file from the Previous Libraries folder?
