  • Windows 7 or itunes does not recognize my ipad, windows 7 or itunes does not recognize my ipad

Help!   After resetting my ipad, Windows 7 or Itunes does not recognize it.  I have read and followed all assistance or how to's that I came across on line but nothing works.

    Check in this order-
    1. Make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
    2. Try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
    3. Make sure your lead /connections are not faulty.
    4. If you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.
    5. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
    6. If using Widows, make sure all Windows Updates are installed.
    7. Failing all that, see here - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 for Windows and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 for Macs
    8. And failing all that put the device into Recovery mode. See here and note the paragraph 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page -

  • Itunes does not recognize my Ipad after software update. says it is in recovery mode, Itunes does not recognize my Ipad after software update.

After an ipad software update, it does not recognize my Ipad in Itunes.  Gives error 14. what to do?

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad.
If you haven't synced to a computer them (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • ITunes does not recognize my ipad, but my computer does as a camera. I NEED TO FIX THIS TO UPGRADE.

How can I get itunes to recognize my ipad? I've gone through all the troubleshooting I could find at itunes and apple. I'm getting really frustrated and really want to update my pad...

iTunes would not recognize my iPad2 *after* I updated to iOS 5, which kept me from syncing all of the content that the update failed to transfer.  I read this suggestion somewhere and it worked for me:
    1.  Hold down the home button and the sleep/wake (power) button at the same time for 10 seconds.  Ignore the red power-off slider if it appears.
    2.  Release the sleep/wake (power) button but continue to hold the home button down for 15 seconds longer.
    3.  The iPad will go black.
    4.  With iTunes open, connect the iPad to your computer with USB cable.
    5.  The Apple log should appear on your iPad.
    6.  iTunes may take a few seconds to recognize the iPad, but it should do so eventually.
    7.  You may see the beachball before iTunes recognizes the iPad, but don't give up and don't force quit unless it goes on for several minutes.
This may not work for you, but it's worth a try.

  • After installing Lion on my Mac mini I no longer get a sound whe I plug in a usb device, and sometimes iTunes does not recognize my iPad.  Is this normal (lack of usb recognition sound)?

After installing Lion on my mini, I no longer get a "recognition sound" when I plug in a usb device.  Is this normal?

I am not sure any Mac every had a sound for plugging/unplugging USB devices.
You may be right. It's only on Windows that the sound is created and heard.
I know that since Tiger on this MBP, when I plug in my external scanner, I never heard anything.
And plugging in my Blu-Ray recorder also does not make any sounds.
I cannot speak for anything but my Mac laptops, however. Desktop Macs might make a sound.

  • After upgrading to Lion , itunes does not recognize my ipad, ipod touch anymore.

Yesterday I updated to Mac OSC Lion on my original Intel Macbook (the first Aluminum Macbook) with 4GB RAM.
Today I had a run in with my ipad and ipod touch, both of whom are not being recognized by itunes anymore.
My ipod shuffle and classic are still being recognised and do sync.
I have read through the support pages and annoyingly even factory-reset my ipad, which cannot be used anymore due
to itunes not recognizing the device !
System profiler does show either ipod or ipad being connected to the usb port. Resetting of the devices did not help (see above)
Any clues to this inconsistent behaviour differentiating between classic ipods and ipod touch/ipad ?
    js.

update: It seems like the XCode update did interfere with itunes. I reran the XCode install this time with itunes not running. This seems to update all necessary drivers and Library items correctly.
After this IPad and IPod touch were working fine again.

  • ITunes does not recognize my iPad due to iTunes version

It says that I must have iTunes version 10.6.3 or higher.  How do I do that??  HELP, please!

Whoops, forgot to include that iTunes version on my computer is 10.7, it is the version on my iPad that is the conflict and the one I need to update, somehow.

  • ITunes does not recognize ipad when connected

When I connect my iPad to the computer, iTunes does not recognize the iPad.  I have had the iPad for several months now and have not had the issue.  I checked the cable with the charger and that works fine.  Went through what Apple suggested to no avail.  Any ideas?

Did you try the steps contained in the attached link?  http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/itunes/

  • Itunes does not recognize IPAD 3 after upgrading to IOS 6.

After updating my IPAD 3 to IOS 6, Itunes does not recognize my IPAD 3.  What can I do to fix this issue?

I have a similar problem with the iPhone. Tried everything you can think of and then some. There is apparently some devastating bug 7.6 introduced into normal USB device recognition. I've been able to force the phone into recovery mode; the boot recovery USB driver does still work. Restoring the phone every time I need to sync is both scary and time-consuming.

  • My PC does not recognize my ipad, what to do?

My itunes does not recognize my ipad & my ipad indicates it needs to sync with itunes. what should I do?

You will need to restore using recovery mode. Here are the instructions.

This can take a few attempts before it will work, so be patient. Hopefully, it will work the first time for you.

  • ITunes does not recognize password on iMac, but I can sign in to post here, sign in on my iPad, and sync my iPad to my iMac

If I want to sign in to this message board, I can do so.  I can also sign in on my iPad to download updates, purchase new apps and songs, etc.  And I can sync my iPad to iTunes on my iMac.
But when I open iTunes on my iMac, it asks for my password and I can't sign in.  What is causing this problem with iTunes on my iMac repeatedly asking for my password when I open iTunes?
This is very frustrating.  I am also worried that I won't be able to sync when my new iPad arrives March 16.  Help!

The solution (for me at least) is to keep trying the same password in iTunes on my iMac that I know is correct.  For me, the fourth try of typing in the exact same password works in iTunes on my iMac.  I have repeated this several times, and each time it works.
What is messing people up is that when iTunes does not recognize the correct password, people are attempting other passwords.  Those other passwords are all incorrect.  The problem, as you stated, is that the password was entered correctly the first time but because of iTunes having issues it does not recognize it.
People, just keep entering the password you know is correct.  It will eventually recognize it, or at least this works for me.  If this still does not work, reset your password (but then you may still have to enter it repeatedly in iTunes).
    Apple needs to fix this.

  • ITunes does not recognize my iPhone 4 or iPad 2

I bought an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 yesterday... have not been able to use any of them so far as itunes does not recognize either of them on my machine.. have tried several times to restart the machine, reinstall iTunes etc etc.. I have a Sony Viao with Windows Vistas Home Edition, and of course am running as an Administrator.
Anyone has faced this problem earlier - any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Saurabh

I don't have this problem with my windows machine.  Unfortunately, a new policy in the company requires that ITunes not be on your computer or you may be terminated.  I've got one week to figure out why things are different so that I am good to go for the future.
First off, copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your work computer to an external drive.
Copy it to /Music/ on your personal computer.
Try using a USB port on the back of the computer.
