ITunes does nothing when I try to Import

Hello,
I have tried to import several songs into ITunes with extensions of wma and CDA. I have tried dragging and dropping them into my library and I have also tried "Adding them to my Library" as well, but neither approach works. I don't receive an error message. The computer just doesn't do anything. When I drop the file into my library, nothing happens. When I choose a song to "Add to the Library", the dialog box disappears, but nothing else happens. I have the latest version of the software. Any ideas?
Thank you.

Hello:
I actually am having a similar problem to the one described above, except that it is with an mp3 file. It is a file I received attached to an email. It downloaded successfully, and appears on my Desktop and all that. I have tried adding it using "Add to library" as well as dragging and clicking, and nothing happens. It does not appear in the library. Any thoughts on why this might be, or how to open the file, would be much appreciated!
Thank you so much,
Carol-Irene

  • ITunes does nothing when I plug my iPhone in

    I have an iPhone 5 32GB, a 2007 iMac 24", Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and iTunes 11.0.4 (4).
When I plug my iPhone into my Mac, absolutely nothing happens. If iTunes is closed, it doesn't open. If iTunes is open, no iPhone button appear in the top right corner and nothing changes in the sidebar.
I have also tried plugging it into my PC which has iTunes installed, and then the iPhone button does appear, but I don't want to sync it on that machine - I want to sync it on my Mac.
    Any ideas?

    Hey,
I was wondering if you have found a way to sort this problem?
I'm having the same problem and I cant seem to find anything that works!
My USB's are fine, I've tried 2! My Ipod5 is charging fine.
On another PC it pops up on iTunes but on this on, nothing

  • ITunes does nothing when I add music to the library. It just stares blankly back at me. How can a program suck this much?

Title says it all. When my phone is connected, iTunes freezes when I have the audacity to click the file button. When my phone is unplugged, I add music to the library, either by folder, or by file, and nothing happens. I just updated to a new version this morning, I don't know why i ever agree to that, it's always a mistake. How can they keep making the program worse? I don't get it.

If you put the music section of the library in songs view ordered by date added descending do you see any of the material you tried to add at the top of the list? Have you tried using the <Media Folder>\Automtically Add to iTunes folder to add media?
As for the iPhone have you reviewed this support document, not withstanding that iTunes might display the device? TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows.

  • Why does 'User not registered for online use' show up when I try to import a cd into itunes. None of the cd info shows up either

Why does 'User not registered for online use' show up when I try to import a cd into itunes? None of the cd info shows up either.

Well, the format I upload from the camera is "video clip" or "video for Windows"...sometimes I've converted them to avi format, too. But as I said, it never even lets me get that far...I never get to even select a clip. As soon as I tell the program to "import/clip" it freezes up before I can even go to the folder that the clips are in. It has only begun to do this recently, and I'd never had any problems like this before. Last night I tried it again, and I clicked "open composition", and it froze when I did that too.
I'm not sure how much more specific I can be about the details of the clips, since I'm positive it has nothing to do with the clips themselves...I'm running Windows XP, though...Home Edition Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, with 504 MB of RAM. I have had the automatic updates turned on since I did my last reformat a couple of weeks ago. Could it have something to do with some kind of an update it may have done?

  • When I try to import songs from a CD into iTunes it can't find the titles online.  This wasn't a problem previously, now it is.  There is nothing wrong with my internet.  Any solutions?  Help says try again later but no luck there.

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

  • I have the latest version IPAD.  In Garage Band I am trying to import karaoke songs purchased on itunes so that I can sing with them via garage band.  In Garage Band, when I try in import a song from Itunes, nothing comes up?  How do I do this...?

I have the latest version IPAD.  In Garage Band I am trying to import karaoke songs purchased on itunes so that I can sing with them via garage band.  In Garage Band, when I try in import a song from Itunes, nothing comes up?  How do I do this...?

Make sure you understand the difference between an Audio File and a GarageBand Project File (also known as GarageBand Song File)
The + sing in the My Songs page is for opening a GarageBand Project File, either a new one or one that is copied vie the iTunes File Sharing mechanism. If I understand you right, then you want to import an Audio File from your iTunes library in a GarageBand Project and not open an existing GarageBand Project.
To import an Audio File from your iTunes Library to an existing GarageBand Project.
Make sure you sync your iTunes Library (all songs or a selection) to your iPad. This is the standard procedure so you can listen to your iTunes Library on your iPad (this step has nothing to do with GarageBand yet)
Once you are in your GarageBand Project, tap the Loop Browser icon (the ribbon) to open the Loop Browser
The misleading part here is that this window can display three tabs, not only the Apple Loops. It also displays any synced audio file via the iTunes Fle Sharing (the tab is labeled "Audio Files) and also any songs that you have synced to yoyr iPad that I just described. This tab is now called "Music".
Look at the screenshot of my previous post. The Music tab provides the same browsing capabilities (Playlists, Artist, etc) as your iTunes.
Navigate to the Kareoke Song (audio file) and drag it onto a GarageBand audio track
I explain all those details and concepts in my GarageBand book
    Hope that helps

  • Help! Album not adding to itunes when I try to import it!

I have this Album from Asian Kung-Fu Generation called 'World World World'. I imported it to my music library, everything was successful. Put it on my new Ipod 16Gb, everything was fine. Then I went to 'Artists' on my Ipod and discovered that the artist was labeled ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and I had a separate Asian Kung-Fu Generation section.
I've had this problem many times before, and I knew how to fix it. I went back to Itunes and deleted the album out of the list. Then I manually went into the folder, right clicked each file in the album, clicked properties, switched to the 'summary' tab, and manually edited the author back to Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Now, with other CD's that this happened with, when I did that, I just imported it back to Itunes and everything worked as expected.
But here's what happened when I tried it with this particular CD - when I tried to import it after doing all this, nothing happens. It's nowhere to be found in my itunes. It's like what happens when I try to import a filetype that isn't compatible with Itunes. I turned off my PC, when I woke up this morning I rebooted and tried it again. This time, it "processed" but was still nowhere to be found in my library.
    Any help please???

First, try using a Smart playlist as a method of searching your iTunes to be sure it didn't get put somewhere it doesn't belong.
    File > New Smart Playlist
Album containts (type in the album name in the text box)
    Click OK
Look for the newly created Smart playlist in the playlist section off to the right. Do you see the songs in it? If so, select all of the tracks (Edit > Select All) and choose Get Info (File > Get Info). Say "yes" to edit multiple track information, and edit the artist and album name to make sure they're all the same.
If this doesn't find them for you, I'd go to your music folder location:
    C:\ ... My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\
See if you can find any remnants of the files. If they are in there, try to add them into iTunes by going back to iTunes and clicking File > Add Folder to Library.
If there are no files in there, I'd suggest recreating the iTunes library and then trying to import the CD again.
    Recreate the library:

  • Can't get burned CD to be read on my laptop itunes which I'm trying to transfer music to. It just says 'track 1' for the entire CD, and can't be copied. Says unknown error -50 when I try to import. Any ideas?

So...I'm trying to transfer my itunes music to my laptop. I set up a new itunes on my laptop and, with great difficulty (I'm not technical), I've managed to be successful with the help of my memory stick, which saves wasting CDs.
However, for some reason a few tracks by a couple of artists don't seem to have transferred. So I had the idea to burn a CD and then copy that directly to my laptop.
There doesn't seem to be any trouble burning the CD - that works fine. I just select audio CD, and done within a minute or so. But when I then put the CD in my disc drive, it doesn't work.
It says 'track 1', with no other tracks for the entire CD. When I try to import it, it says 'unknown error -50'. I've tried tinkering with the import settings, but it makes no difference.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm not that computer literate, so please make it idiot proof

You can use the bootstrap tar.gz files that are found in the same directory as the iso on every mirror.  If you go to the download page, select the mirror of your choice, you will see a file called "archlinux-bootstrap-2013.10.01-x86_64.tar.gz" (one for i686 also).  That is what you need.
Unpack it whereever you think is appropriate, if you have enough RAM you can use /tmp.  Then after setting up the partitions in the host (Kali/Debian, or whatever), you can arch-chroot to that unpacked directory.  There you will find all the tools necessary to install (pacman and the arch-install-scripts).
This method has one issue though, and that is that the arch-chroot script (and maybe others) requires some pretty new versions of various things.  In particular, I think that a pretty new version of bash is required.  So I am not sure about the viability of this solution on anything debian, as their stable repos tend to be pretty conservative.  It also means that you need to have a pretty good understanding of the install process, as you will still mostly follow the beginners guide, but it will require a few changes in the procedure.
    Good luck.

  • Itunes "Freeze" when i try to Import music AND putting it on to my Iphone

When i try to put Mp3's from my collection into itunes it imports some songs and then crashes on the same files. I then have to exclude these folders when im putting the music into itunes. THEN, when i try to put music from the music library to my Iphone 3gs 16gb the same thing happes, but with different songs. when i get it to sync, it does so until i reaches a spesific song, then it just tries syncing that song forever and finally the whole program crashes. What can i do?

Changed how?  Did you update the Apple ID with a new email address or create a new Apple ID?
Keep in mind that content acquired from iTunes is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.
If you created a new Apple ID, stop using it immediately.

Audiobooks purchased from Audible.com.  They play on iTunes on my computer.  They have been playing on my iPod Classic until two days ago.  I'm in the middle of two books and now one does not keep track of where I am and the other does not play.  I also have other books not playing on the iPod that use to play.  They all play on iTunes on my computer.

  • Computer freezes when I try to import a cd into itunes...

I just recently got a Macbook Pro, and I am having a problem when I try to import a cd that I burned previously. When I put in a cd the computer freezes and the cd won't play and Itunes will not work at all. I have to restart the computer to get anything to work. I burned the cd on a Windows computer, and the cd works fine there. The cd's I am using are brand new with no scratches. I don't think I should have to restart the computer every time I try to import a cd. I hope I can get some help on this matter.

I'm having the same problem, except the CD I last inserted will not eject. It gave me the option to force eject the CD and I did. But the CD didn't come out...and a message popped up saying it was successfully ejected. Now the little icon doesn't come up when I press the eject button and the computer says there is no CD in the drive but the CD is still in there. I have had this Mac for about 4 and 1/2 hours now.
