ITunes doesn't allow me to watch a movie

I rented a movie and after downloading it iTunes doesn't allow me to watch it, it says that needs the authorization of iTunes and that iTunes must be open... but its already open and nothing happens.
Solved. I just waited 15 min and tried again

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2. It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store. As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card. After that, downloads proceeded as before.

ITunes message says I can't watch rented movies!

I have Mac OS X 10.5.8, iTunes 10.6.3, Quicktime 7.5.5. iTunes message says I can't watch rented movies & that I need another QT version that I couldn't remember. What should I do? Note, in System Profiler, I have QT 7.5.5 in Apps and in Frameworks.

For now, this is correct. There will be an update to the Apple TV within the next week which will allow it to play rented content as well as rent it natively.

Itunes doesn't allow me to send some songs to my iphone or allow me to play them?

When i drag and drop some music files on my itunes it doesn't allow me to play or send the song to my iphone? The song details are shown in a light grey with the 'refresh' like button the very left hand side.

I had a problem getting any calendar events after a hd failure and reinstall. Someone here told me to try this and it worked!
1. Launch iTunes - Preferences - Devices - Reset Sync History - Confirm - Give it 1 min. You may or may not see a progress bar. Ensure Outlook is closed when you do this.
*Now go ahead and sync Outlook Calenders to iPod
2. Attempt to try and sync using the different USB Ports in the system and see weather or not syncing takes a bit longer and actually copies information over
3. If you are able to Restore the iPod as a new iPod so it has a fresh info.. And sync everything to it like it is the first time.

ITunes doesn't allow me to put music in my iPhone 5

Hi. I have realized, that my iTunes doesn't introduce the music I select into my iPhone5. Kind of weird. If I choose just a few songs (5,10) they go in. But if I select a vast amount of them (400+) they just stay with this sign and sometimes with grey color or sometimes and unselectable, or also sometimes just with this sing but selectable. (With selectable I mean I can use it and play it)
I have tried everything. First I thought it was a mess with the enough space, but it isn't. I restart counters but doesn't work. I've updated iTunes, and iPhone (7.1.1) but neither is.
Help me please

ITunes won't allow me to purchase HD movie

I just bought an ipad 2 (which is compatible with HD movie right?) and i want to buy my sister's favorite movies "Tangled" and "Toy Story 3" in HD so i can transfer those to my iPhone and iPad.
but my monitor isn't HD monitor yet, and iTunes won't allow me to buy the HD movie anymore
it kinda strange because i've bought some HD movie before, but now it says:
"This cannot be purchased in HD on this computer
To buy or rent this in HD, your computer and display must both support HDCP"
is there a way for me to buy those movies in HD without having to buy a new HD monitor or purchase it on my iPad ? because my pc has faster connection speed than my iPad.

ITunes doesn't allow transfer of playlists or songs to ATV 1G

I've been trying to upload a few playlists from my Mac Mini to my ATV 1G but it seem impossible. Opening iTunes and clicking on Devices > Apple TV brings up a screen that shows Settings and Photos at the top. There is no access to Music like there once was. The Settings show simply device info (name, cap'y, software version and s/n. There are no user-changeable settings. Clicking the Photos tab provides an easy means of transferring photos.
The Help (for G1) states that to sync my ATV with iTunes, to go to Prefs > Apple TV... but in my prefs there is NO ATV tab to select! I've checked ever menu bar and item and have found absolutely nothing relating to syncing iTunes songs with the ATV.
Now strangely enough, I can select the ATV as an output device from the selection dropdown in the lower right corner of iTunes, and I can play songs that way.
So what in heck gives here?
My itunes version is 10.1.1 (and this is not a new problem).

Hi, and thanks for pointing me to that thread. I had already seen it in my forum search and it doesn't work for me. Here's why:
One answer in that thread stated
+I, went to the ATV > menu "General" tab > "Reset Settings" tab > here I used Reset settings to keep network and sync, then went to - general > computers > found mine > then it gave me the numbers to put into iTunes.+
Well, I'm running ATV software version 3.0.2 and under General there is no Computers tab to click on! All that's under General are About, Network, iTunes Store, parental Controls, Remotes, Update Software, Languages, Legal, Reset Settings. I checked each of these options and nowhere is there a way to obtain those numbers to input into iTunes.

I have an itunes acct. on my PC, but itunes doesn't allow me on using that acct. info. When I try to set up a new id on my ipad it says the session has timed out.

I have an itunes account on my PC and have downloaded Kindle and iBook with no problem, but when I try and use that acct id on my iPad the system says I cannot access the store. However, when I try to create a new id the system comes up and tells me that I am from Canada, which is always nice to know in case I ever forget, and when I acknowledge that screen, it immediately tells me the session has timed out. What am I doing wrong? Willingly admit I am not at all knowledgable in the Apple world. Thanks for any help you can give..

The new iTunes doesn´t allow me to import or see my homemade videos, any suggestions?

Hi, I just installed the new Itunes on both my mac and Pc. In the Mac i have no problems yet, but in my PC (windows Vista) I can´t see the movies i have in the library and wont let me import new homemade videos. I try to go back to the old version, but it won´t oppen becouse the Itunes list is made by the new version. Someody have the same problem? Any ideas about what should I do?

I am facing the same issue too. One workaround is to get all the tracks and music videos of that artist by using the search option and then select the video that you want to view. Then double click on that view and you will be able to preview the video rather than directly going to the preview option. This somehow works for me pretty well.

Why does my Apple TV 3 launch itunes songs every time I start watching a movie on netflix?

I just set it up and have gone through all the available trouble shooting but every time I launch a movie in netflix, my laptop starts to play songs. how can I make it stop. also, iTunes does not see AppleTV as a device and it doesn't show up on FInder either. Is this normal?

thanks for the info - I will try the power the Router and ATV boxes, I can see why that may help since I did upgarde the ATV on the 2nd May (which is when these problems started) so I can say I beleive that the ATV is running the latest software. I'll let you know if rebooting both boxes helps.

ITunes is not allowing me to download a movie

Hi
Itunes is not letting me download a pre-loaderd movie onto my ipod. I have the newest iPod and iTunes version on my Windows computer. The message that shows up when I try to download the movie is " The movie was not copied to the iPod because it could not be found."
I have tried downloading it through my ipod home screen and drag and drop but it is not working. Another thing, when i tried the way of downloading it under movies for my ipod this message also showed up " Are you sure you want to remove existing music, tv show, music...etc... from this iPod?" And i dont want to have to retrieve all the stuff back.
If there is any way to help, please do! Thanks!

ps. I did burn the movie off the disc onto iTunes

That massage usually means that iTunes can't find the actual movie file. Does the move play in iTunes? If not then delete the move and redownload by Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Says my Mac is not authorized.but it plays the movie in itunes and on my atv2. My Mac is authorized. and both the mac and the Ipad are using the same itunes account name. and all devices are authorized.

Here are a couple of suggestions:
1. You probably already know how to authorize/ deauthorize a computer, but in case you don't, you need to go onto iTunes drop down menu under Store-Authrize my computer to ensure that the iPad is authorized to play you're purchased films.
2. You can check your account under the same drop down menu to see how many devices have been authorized already. You can have up to 5, I believe. You view this under "my account" info.
I haven't used atv2, so I don't know whether it too requires "authorization", so you could double check that info. too.
Oftenn times, if your using multiple devices, you might be not be authorizing each device, but as I understand it, that is one of the ways Apple can control the purchases made on iTunes.
