ITunes doesn't auto. open after connecting iPhone

Everytime i connect my iPhone 3G to my iMac (v.10.4.11), iTunes(v.7,7,1)
does not open automatically, instead iPhoto is opening by itself.
It also does not appear in the sidebar of my Finder, or is this normal ???
Any helpful idea???
Thanks in advance.

RoMYI,
The iPhone will launch iPhoto if it has pictures taken on the iPhone. You can change this setting in iPhoto '08 or in Image Capture.
The iPhone does not support disk mode, so will not show up in the sidebar in Finder.
If you open iTunes does it show up in iTunes, and what options are checked in the Summary tab?
Thank you,
Nathan C.

Other strings on this seem to be related to Mac Lion, but I'm still with Snow Leopard.

  • How to turn on opening iTunes after connecting iPhone

Hello. I've unchecked "Open iTunes after connecting iPhone"... But how i can check it back? I don't see iPhone in iTunes.

    Hey MCMichal1,
It sounds like your iPhone isn’t recognized by iTunes on your Mac, so you aren’t able to select the option to automatically launch iTunes when connecting your device.
To resolve the issue with your iPhone not being recognized by iTunes, take a look at this article:

Go further down on the same screen and look for more information. (I do not remember the exact words) Upon clicking on it a new page opens in Safari for instructions, including  opening Terminal under Utilities, etc. Then you will have to add # and a space to one of the lines. Then save and restart the computer. It worked for me. I am sorry I do not remember the exact sequence of these steps. Hope this helps you.

  • ITunes won't open automatically after connecting iPhone

Maybe I missed the discussion on this but I did search first.  I just bought an iPhone 4s and had already upgraded to iTunes 10.5.  iTunes will not open when the iPhone is initially plugged in.  I can manually open iTunes and it works fine.  'Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected.' is checked and the 'helper' process is running.  Any ideas?

  • ITunes store will not open on my iPhone 4s after updated tin IOS 7

I downloaded the newest version of iTunes to my computer after updating my phone to IOS 7.  I then synced my phone and I can no longer connect to the iTUnes store from my phone.  I was able to purchase music while listening to  iTunes radio but still could not connect to the store.  When I try to open iTunes using the app it acts like it is going to load and then returns me to the home screen.  I have tried to force close all the apps and then rebooted the phone and tried to use the iTunes app...still no luck.  Also, any new songs I have purchased since the update have the wrong album artwork associated with them.  For example:  Scotty McCreary album has Carrie Underwood as the album artwork.

Other users have found this useful:
1.- Close the iTunes app by pressing the Home button twice, and swiping them up.
2.- Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
3.- Sign out and in using Settings > iTunes & App Store
    Hope that helps.

  • ITunes doesn't play music after sleeping mode.

iTunes doesn't play music. I try to start any song by remote app in iPhone from sleeping mode of mac mini.
I can see all my music library, choose any artist and any albom.
But when I try to start the music nothing is happen.
The button Play/pause doesn't work and the play-bar is not moving.
This issue have appeared after upgrade to iTunes 11 and new remote app.
After reboot iTunes everything is ok, but in a sleep mode I have the same problem.
    Please help!

okay. i solved the problem. After reading a few other posts on related topics, it appears that using either the Setup Assistant(instead of the Airport Admin program) or if you are using the new version called 'Airport Utility' to use the option to 'Assist Me'. After going through the setup in this way it worked!

  • ITunes store won't open after Update - NO Error message!

    Hello everyone!
This morning I updated my iTunes to 11.1 upon being prompted (when I tried to connect my new iPad Mini). I run Mac OS X 10.6.8. The macbook also updated other softwares (auto update). I restarted my laptop, and now the iTunes just won't open. The first time I click it in the dock, the icon would just bounce thrice before settling down, and then nothing happens. Upon clicking again, it would bounce just once, but nothing opens. There is no error message either.
I have tried restarting, and also tried software update for the OS. I have checked the parental controls and administrative powers for the user.
    Kindly help!

Jason,I used the troubleshooting link you gave and so far have 1.Fixed Digital Signing for Windows drivers.(didn't help) 2.Removing Itunes configuration files.
In this one I was told to delete the SC info.sidb file (I didn't have one of these when I got to the folder where it was supposed to be)The thing I haven't done is the mscofig.instruction. I was saving it for last as it sounded like it could really make a lot of changes to my computer. The Itunes installation icon is still on my desktop so I clicked on it and there was a link that said it would repair missing or damaged files in the Itunes software. It didn't help either. I can click on Itunes all day long and it won't open.I can't access the library either. I am going to do the last step you suggested and uninstall my security software and see if that helps. I appreciate all the help Jason.

  • ITunes doesn't sync some apps to iPhone

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS5. After that iTunes doesn't sync anymore some apps to phone. When I try to sync them to iPhone, in the end on syncing iPhone shows a message, that the installing of that app was unsuccesful. iTunes doesn't say anything about that. The problem occurs with about a half of apps which I have on my computer. There isn't anything error code or something like that, phone simply says that installing was unsuccesful. The messages comes always when the app is loaded to phone and phone tries to install that.
I have latest version of iTunes 10.5 and iOS5 on phone. I have tried booting phone and computer. What is the problem, that some apps doesn't simply get installed to phone? I think it doesn't matter if the app is mine or my friend's, because some of his apps get installed and some not, same thing with my apps.
    I'll be thankful for help

It just keep repeating all over again & again.. All the apps can't sync back into the phone even i authorised it. But i can still download from the app store thru my iphone but when i wanna sync with my itunes again, the same things appear again..

  • ITunes does not fire up after connecting iPod

    Hi ,
I have an iPod touch 8Gb with software update 3.0 . After I connect the iPod to my mac , iTunes does not start even though the option for doing so is checked. The iPod does appear in iTunes in the "Devices" section after maunally opening iTunes , syncs and works without problems... I have reset preferences for both iTunes and iPod .
    has anyone encountered this issue?
    Thanks

Also tried launching in iTunes safe mode.  Window came up stating opening in safe mode but, iTunes did not open.

  • Latest version of Itunes doesn't detect my internet connection.

Itunes doesn't detect/see my internet connection. I reloaded it twice, When in Itunes, I can't download anything from the Itunes site. No tutorials,no software updates, nada! I tried it in the previous version of the Itunes setup too. Same problem.
I have an HP laptop, Vista Home premium (works fine anywhere else), Nortons 36O (disabled), ATT DSL
I am running Firefox too, and tried to connect with Internet Explorer 9.xx, didn't work either. Some of the messages indicate that the Proxy Server info is missing/incorrect as configured. This is out of my league. I don't have enough background to TS this issue myself.
Seems like a sporatic, but common problem with other users as well. I need Itunes to run, correctly so that I can fix my Iphone. The limited diagnostics found in Itunes tells me that the phone is ok and communicates with the test software. But I can't get any deeper than that.
    Thank you for your help.

I think you're missing the point. If you rip or purchase music at 128k, 256k, 320k etc. then there is no benefit to be had converting it to Apple Lossless. The files will get bigger but the data thrown away to make the previous lossy version cannot be reclaimed. If, on the other hand, you routinely rip in .wav or .aiff then you should end up with smaller files of the same quality which is indeed worth the effort.

  • Itunes 10.2 does not show connected Iphone

After using software upgrade to 10.2 my Iphone3G will not appear in ITunes. IPhoto knows it's plugged in so I'm pretty sure it's not the USB/connection. Tried multiple restarts/re-boots of both computer and phone. Read through an earlier topic here that said it's solved but it's not.

Similarily, my mac wasnt recognising my iphone 3gs, and when i tried to download 10.2 i tunes from the "check for updates" option inside itunes. No luck after doing all the usual things (rebooting, reloading etc). But when i downloaded the dmg file from the itunes WEBSITE, this worked fine, and my iphone is now also syncing as it used to. Hope this helps anyone with same irritating problem. Thanks
