Itunes doesn't install successfully

hi
the first time i installed itunes was when i had vista it installed without any errors but when i UPGRADED to windows 7 i didn't use itunes for about a month and when i clicked on it after 3 seconds my laptop froze (as in: can't move mouse, and my laptop doesn't respond when i press the windows key in the keyboard and my slide show(gadget)stopped and all the "froze" in my post mean the same thing)and when uninstalling/installing, it froze on "registering itunes automation server" so i used windows install clean up to uninstall it and it was successful so i downloaded the latest itunes (9.2.1.5) and when installing it froze in "registering itunes automation server" and i had to do a force restart and after i force restart the itunes folder in program files was installed so i clicked on itunes.exe but it froze my laptop but then i saw another topic about someone having the same problem(Click)i did everything what the link says and it still froze on "registering itunes..." but after i force restarted and clicked on itunes.exe in program files it worked.(Now here's the problem)when i start itunes it says "the software required for communicationg with ipods amd mobile phones was not installed successffully" (the problem is that i am getting an iphone 4 after 2 weeks) so i ran the installer and installed everything except itunes and quicktime (because they were already installed) and when running itunes again it still tells me that "the software required for communicationg with ipods and mobile phones was not installed successffully" but itunes works perfectly after pressing ok.oh and itunes does not appear in control panel and windows install clean up,so can any one help me fix it.

  • ITunes doesn't install on Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hi everyone.
I have tried to install iTunes on my Windows but I just can't be sucessful. After the installation process, I get the message that the program was correctly installed, but then I don't have the program, it wasn't installed. I get no errors, iTunes just doesn't install, but says it was installed.
I have searched about this problem but didn't find anything like that.
Does someone have any idea? My Windows is 7, Home Premium.
    Thanks.

I've downloaded the iTunes installation file and tried to install or repair 3 times but keep getting a message that a required component is not installed (-45075).
Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Itunes doesn't install

itunes is not installing, the following message appears all the time "the administrator has set up the system so that it doesn't allow this installation". I m the bloddy administrator, i tried to remove all the protection of my computer, everything, it still doesn't work. i redownloaded itunes three times and it doesn't change anything. Please, please help me, it's driving me crazy!!!!!

    Hi,
I'm assuming that you are running Windows XP as indicated in your information on the post.
    Check your system requirements first:
Click on Start, right click on My Computer, and click Properties.
If it is Windows XP ensure it is running Service Pack 2.
If not, go to www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx to update.
    If so, continue...
Open your Control Panel and go into Add/Remove Programs
Remove any and all of the following:
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    iTunes
    iPod for Windows
    QuickTime
    Then, go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Scroll to the gray box, where it says Contents of the ReadMe.txt file. Above that, there's a link to download the installer package. Click on that link, and download and install the utility. Afterwards, open it up (Start > All Programs > Windows Installer Clean Up). If you see any of those same programs listed, click on it, and click Remove. Then, restart the computer.
    Retry the iTunes download:

    Good luck,

  • Itunes 7.0 install successful, but it never launches / still have 4.0

Please help!!! My G4 has the Tiger operating system in it... I currently have Itunes version 4 point something and it works just fine except that I can no longer download music from the itunes website because it says that i need to get 7.0 point something...
    Heres where the fiasco starts..
I have repeatedly downloaded and installed 7.0 point something ( i think it's 7.0.2 not for sure right now because im not at the computer in question ) anyway after the download I install it and it allways comes off as a successful install... no error codes or skull and crossbones prompts on the screen. Now, just as soon as I get done ( thinking that i had yet another good install ) ... I will usually re-start the computer and then immediately open up itunes with the big hope that I will have finally and actually installed 7.0 ONLY to find out that it's STILL 4.0 WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG!!!!
I have the latest version of quicktime.
I have went into the library then reciepts folder and trashed the itunes DMX folder ( or whatever that folder is called... the one with the orange/gold box )
Can someone please throw me a bone..help a brudda out!
Grapefruit model G4   Mac OS X (10.4.1)   most recent version of quicktime...if that helps forensic wise.

I have had a similar problem after being forced to upgrade to iTunes 7.0.2.. I did a "successful upgrade" on my G4 running Panther - but have never been avble to run iTunes 7 - whenever I try and open it, I just get the spinning wheel of frustration. Now I have a newer computer (iMac G5 running Tiger 10.4.7) and IU just tried to upgrade to 7.0.2 and hey presto - after telling me the upgrade was successful, it doesn't work! The spinning wheel again. Dies anybody know what causes this? I'm starting to feel lie Appple are getting so obsessed with makinbg iTunes work for Windows (and thius increasing their market share) that they are forgetting about us Mac users.
    What is going on Apple?
ps Kronk - sorry I can't help you, but it seemed llike a related topic and a good place to vent my frustration!

  • Itunes says its "installed successfully" but no such luck

    Hi
I've recently had to reinstall itunes back onto my laptop (32bit - Windows 7) and am having difficulty reinstalling itunes.
The download manager suggests that itunes (v11.0.44) has "sucessfully installed" however when I check the prgram folder or directory there is no sign of the itunes. There are no desktop icons, nothing just a confirmations that says......
I've removed all previous versions of apple products and freed up space on the hard drive but still no success......
Just wondered if anyone has got any suggestions?
    Cheers

  • ITunes version 11.0.2.26 doesn't install

The latest update to iTunes doesn't install correctly.  After the update ran, I received error -42404 and couldn't connect to my AppleTV.  I followed the instructions and removed and reinstalled.  Now I get an error that AVFoundationCF.dll cannot be found and iTunes won't startup.
I believe before this update I was running the 32 bit version of iTunes.  Originally I could not get the 64 bit version to work, the 32 bit version worked fine.  Now it seems to want to replace the 32 bit version with 64 bit version.
    Any suggestions?

You can try to completely uninstall iTunes from your PC, remove your preferences (remember to backup your data) and then install the latest version: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
It should fix it but again, backup your content and settings first!

  • Tried to install newest itunes, crashed during install, and now crashes my computer every time i try to uninstall.  Itunes doesn't show up in the Add/remove prog list at all.  tried to roll back over a month, still crashing.

So I tried to update to the newest Itunes.  It locked up my computer part way thru the install.  Black screen, computer turned itself off.  Now anytime i try to do anything with Itunes it shuts my computer down.  I can start up fine in safe mode but when i try to uninstall from there, Itunes doesn't exist.  the other apple programs do, but no itunes.  when i try to uninstall the other programs in safe mode it tells me it can't because the windows installer isn't loaded.  I have system restored to over a month ago and itunes still doesn't show up in add/remove programs.  however, i can open itunes.  it just tells me a file didn't get installed and to uninstall and reinstall.  So, how do i remove a progam that doesn't think it exists and crashes my computer when i try to do anything related to it???  I'm out of ideas.  running windows vista.

I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will.

  • Itunes says it is installed successfully on computer, but there is no itunes on computer.

Okay so I decided to download the latest itunes (10.5 I think). My computer is a Dell equipped with Windows XP. First, I had the issue of "Error 127". Looked it up on this forum and was told to uninstall itunes and anything Apple related on my computer. So once that was done, I downloaded Itunes again and installed it. I thought something was off when it installed way too quickly and this was confirmed when it said it installed successfully, but then there was no shortcut nor could I find itunes or any affiliated programs in the Start menu. So first I tried to restart my computer to see if everything would be there and it wasnt. I have never had this problem before with Itunes. As of know I am really disappointed with Itunes. I am begging for someone to help me with this. I have a new ipod and now I can't even use it.

Go to add and remove programs (control panel)  and make sure you remove itunes and quicktime.Make sure your restart computer and that you don't have itunes nor quicktime installed anymore. Then, try to install any other or newer version of itunes and that should do. It happened to me too.

  • I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer.

Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer, so I can't put it in recovery mode or someting like that... What can I do?? I tried everything they tell me to do in the apple support but nothing seems to work. Thank you!

    No problem, glad to help!
Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.

  • I just installed update version 11.1.4.62.  Now Itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad.  My wife just installed the same version with the same result.  The problem is clearly a problem with itunes.  What's wrong with itunes?

I was running the previous version of itunes and it worked perfectly.  I just installed the latest version of itunes (version 11.1.4.62) and restarted the PC and now itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or my ipad.  I'm running Windows 8.1 on my pc.  I tried diagnostics to no avail.  The diagnostic didn't recognize either device.  As the directions advised, I closed itunes, disconnected the devices and stopped and restarted the apple  mobile device service,  That didn't work either.  My wife, who also has Windows 8.1, has the same problem.  She installed the new version and it doesn't recognize her devices.
Until now, itunes has been totally reliable.  I am convinced the problem is with itunes.  Where do I go from here?

I resolved the issue by doing the following:
    1. Uninstall iTunes and every Apple application (device support and such).
    2. Uninstall bonjour.
    3. Reboot.
    4. Go to Apple and install iTunes.
It worked.  When I opened iTunes (after reinstalling) it recognized all my devices, music and video.

i have the only account on my laptop so have checked and am the account administrator
i run windows 7 home premium
I have the same problem and
have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
    then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
    hit download now,
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
did not get a save instead of run prompt
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."
i can only click run as administrator from right clicking the shortcut on my desktop screen
If iTunes fails to install or repair, it might be necessary to remove components left from a previous installation of iTunes and then reinstall.
    sick of doing this
at least 7 or 8 times i have re installed itunes to no avail
    troubleshooting no better
please help. pulling my hair out at this stage
it was working fine until 2 days ago when i opened itunes it offered to update to 12.1
not working since i clicked yes
also i have gone to restore previous point and ffs there are no restore points before my multiple reinstalls
really dont want to have to restore factory settings

    sb help me pls !!!!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.

Are you sure it is a 4G iPod?  Does it have a camera?

  • Since i installed windows 7 itunes doesn't recognise my ipod touch anymore. windows shows it as a digital camera

I just installed windows 7 because my computer was infected by a virus. Before i had windows vista. Now when i try to connect my ipod with the latest version of itunes, itunes doesn't recognise it anymore.
Windows recognises the ipod touch only as a digitalcamera.
I already shut down my firewall for every apple software product i had on my pc. And i updated itunes already.
