ITunes doesn't perform automatic backup

hi, i have Yosemite last version. I noticed that plugging ny iPhones to imac doesn't even performance automatic backup in imac. Why?

I was unaware that iTunes has ever performed an "automatic" backup. I thought this was done manually.

  • ITunes doesn't lauch automaticly when iPod connected

    Hi,
iTunes doesn't launch automaticly when my I connect iPod touch 2nd gen.
    Sincerely.

Here's what I did when iTunes started to not open automatically when I connect my iPod touch to the Universal Dock. With the iPod connected, I unchecked "Open iTunes automatically" and "Apply", then I checked "Open iTunes automatically" again. iTunes asked me if I wanted to install "iTunesHelper.app" and I clicked "Yes". No problems with any of my iPods since.
Make sure iTunesHelper.app is active on launch in System Preferences > Accounts.

    Hey Alexander,
Has iTunes Helper been removed from the login items? Go to System Preferences> Accounts> Login Items.
You can add it again manually as described here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1610692
you can also get it back by downloading and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes.

  • Itunes doesn't launch automatically, could you help me?

Hello, when I connect Iphone or Ipad, I tunes doesn't launch automatically even if the option in Itunes is selected. My OS is windows xp.
    Bye
    Fabio

I’ve found another solution for those where this doesn’t resolve it.
    From user Crosbie at MacForums.com
You can extract iTunes Helper from the iTunes package, if you like, to replace the absent one.
It can be found by right-clicking the iTunes app and choosing 'Show Package Contents'; then navigate down to the 'MacOS' folder. You can then drag it to your open 'login items' window.

  • Itunes doesn't sync automatically !!

i bought a new laptop with windows 8.1 64bit on it ...I installed the latest iTunes  ...when I connected my iPhone , iTunes didn't sync automatically with the iPhone ..here is what I did to solve the problem but nothing worked
    uninstalled and reinstalled itunes
    restarted both pc and iPhone
unchecked and checked the sync automatically in the summery option
deauthorized and then authorized the pc
    restored settings on iphone
turned on and off icloud backup
nothing worked ..I really need help cuz what I really want is the automatic backup.
and another question ..how can I erase or undo the " transfer purchase" thing ? ...thxxxx

iTunes menu > Edit > Preferences... > Devices  > make sure "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically" is NOT check.
With your iPhone connected and selected in iTunes > Summary > under Options, select "Automatically sync when this Phones is connected".
Transfer Purchases is a good thing since you save them to computer iTunes.

  • ITunes doesn´t open automatically

    Hi!!!
iTunes doen´t open automatically when i connect my iphone, the click is where it suppose to be (open while connecting) but nothing happens
    Thanks!

This happened to me and what I found out from an Apple Store employee is that you should (make sure you have the "automatically sync" box checked in iTunes) then -
    1). Open your system preferences.
    2). Click on accounts
3). Select your account and click on login items - if you don't have "iTunesHelper" in the list you need to put it in there.
4). Go into your Application folder and scroll down to iTunes.
5). Do a control click on the iTunes icon and select "show package contents".
6). Double click the "contents" folder, then double click the "resources" folder.
7). Scroll down to the "iTunesHelper" and drag it and drop it into the login in window (what you looked at in number 3 above) and quit System Preferences.
    8). Plug in your iphone.

  • Itunes doesn't start automatically

Any reason why my iTunes does not open automatically once the iPod is plugged in? I do have the settings Open Itunes when Ipod connected checked.
    Thanks.

    hi joyful!
just checking. reboot the PC, and prior to launching itunes or plugging in the ipod, bring up your Task Manager to the "processes" tab.
is there an iTunesHelper.exe running in your processes?

  • ITunes doesn't launch automatically when iPhone is connected

This used to work fine...I'd attached my iPhone 3GS to my MacBook via USB, iTunes would automatically launch and begin synching my iPhone. Then (I'm not exactly sure what happened...perhaps it was an update, or a spate of time when I was travelling and using a spotty wireless connection, I'm not sure), but for several weeks now, iTunes no longer autolaunches and synchs when I connect the iPhone.
    I did some tests:
iTunes does autolaunch when I connect my iPod Classic.
I can open iTunes manually, and iTunes sees my iPhone and syncs it automatically.
When I connect my iPhone, iPhoto does come up automatically if I have photos to sync.
The iPhone makes it's happy little connection sound when attached to the laptop via USB and still charges.
Under iTunes Preferences, Devices, I still have "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from synching automatically" unchecked.
So the only thing I can see that is not working here is autolaunch of iTunes via iPhone.
    I have iTunes 10.4(80)
    iPhone 4.3.5
    Mac OS 10.6.8
    Any ideas?

  • Itunes doesn't open automatically when my iphone is connected anymore

I have an iphone 4s and it used to open iphoto and itunes automatically when i plugged it in with a usb cord. now it doesn't do either. i got iphoto to open, but am still having issues with itunes. i have tried all the obvious: checking and unchecking the preferences and summary settings that indicate to automatically sync and open when connected. nothing is working. any suggestions

In iTunes click on your phone under "Devices" on the left of the screen > "Summary" tab > Options: "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected".

  • ITunes doesn't start automatically when ipod is connected.

Even though I have clicked on the place that says itunes will start automatically when iPod is connected to pc, it doesn't. I have to click on iTunes everytime, and then it takes a while to run.
Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

  • ITunes doesn't open automatically like it's supposed to & other problems.

I've followed every installation instruction. When I finally plug in the Nano into the USB drive, a little "ding" rings on my computer as if the computer knows something has been plugged in, but the little dialogue bubble doesn't come up saying that that ipod was recognized. Instead of iTunes opening up I get a window as if the computer recognizes the ipod as an external hard drive i.e. IPOD(E:). I have tried plugging in the ipod in every USB port, front and back of computer. All I get is that hard drive window and the ipod says "do not disconnect". I've even uninstalled and reinstalled several times. How do I get everthing to work properly. I don't think something is wrong with my nano because I installed everything and got it to work on my work computer. I want to use this at home! Please help!
    Dell Dimension 3000   Windows XP

the same has happened here. my family has 3 nanos. one works fine, the other, windows calls a hard drive and assigns it a letter, but the updater and itunes dont find it. theres the ding, and windows says its an ipod, but then calls it a removeable storage device and treats it like one. and the lastnano: windows says that the device has malfunctioned and it wont even charge it. ive reinstalled 20 some times and used the disk, the new updater, and new itunes, and it still wont even recognize mine as an ipod. please help!!

  • ITunes doesn't launch automatically when iPhone is plugged in.

It used to be, that when I plugged my iPhone into my Mac, iTunes launched automatically. It stopped doing that.
If I launch iTunes myself the iPhone appears and everything works fine. I checked all the settings and asked the guy at the Genius Bar, but no joy. Anyone know what can cause this?
