ITunes doesn't recognise Outlook calendar or contacts
iTunes outlook add-in is present and active but iTunes tells me that no supporting contacts/calendar is available.
Anybody know why this is happening? Just upgraded this laptop to Vista so wondering if anybody has any tips/work around?
My variation on this is that I have 2 calendars and 2 contact lists. For my iPod, they're all visible and I can specify a "selected group" as the source for contacts. For my iPhone, no "selected groups" are visible.
This wasn't originally true for the iPod, but at some point in connecting it, a Vista pop-up appeared asking me if I wanted that "drive" to be scanned by Vista. I said yes and after the scan the iPod had access to all my Outlook options.
I'd scan the iPhone if I could, but it doesn't show up as a drive. Then there'd be the question of where the scanning process came from.

HT203128 how do I get itunes to sync my outlook calendars and contacts to my iphone?
ITunes no longer gives me the opportunity to sync my calendars and contacts with Microsoft outlook. How do I get this to work again?
Hey there clairabelle2807,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’ve recently run into an issue syncing contacts and calendars with Outlook using iTunes. The article linked below provides a lot of information and troubleshooting tips that’ll resolve most issues like the one that you’ve described.

ITunes doesn't recognise outlook when ipod plugged in
I am running windows xp with SP2 and have outlook + outlook express installed, but itunes does not recognise. is there something i need to do to be able to use them? thanks.
I had the same problem and it was due to my XP user account being a normal user and not an administrator. I gave myself admin right (temporarily) and the iTunes options for Outlook then appeared.
I raises an interesting question though. I don't want to be an administrator all the time as surfing the web as an administrator is not a good idea and opens your computer up to all sorts of nasties.
Apple can you fix this so normal user account with user access can use the software correctly? -
Outlook 2013 64 Bit - iTunes 12 64 Bit - No Calendar or Contact Sync
Current System Setup
Microsoft Office 2013 Standard Edition - 64 Bit
iTunes 12.1.2.27 - 64 Bit
Windows 8.1 Professional Edition - 64 Bit
Current Issue:
Outlook Calendar and Contacts stopped syncing several weeks ago. When it stopped the computer was setup with and had been setup like this for a very long time with no issues.
Microsoft Office 2010 Standard Edition - 64 Bit
iTunes 11.x - 64 Bit
Windows 8.1 Professional Edition - 64 Bit
Went to the local Apple Store. The tech blew away iTunes completely, even taking out the library xlm, and all supporting Apple apps. Nothing worked.
Went to the Microsoft Store at the same mall right after the Apple Store. He blew away the C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\ folder and all of the subfolders. FYI...That folder was 10GB in size. Still no luck.
I updated the computer to Office 2013 Standard Edition - 64 Bit. No luck.
I read multiple articles with people having similar issues with different degrees of success. I checked everything from the PST file default, Firewall Settings, Outlook Trust Center, etc, etc.
The one thing I see missing in Outlook is the "iTunes Outlook Add-In". It is not listed in the COM-Addins section at all. I have not found any reference to how to bring back this COM-Addin to Outlook for iTunes or if it is necessary for this version of Outlook and iTunes.
Any assistance would be appreciated.Hmm, have you looked at Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 - Apple Support yet?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Outlook Calendar and Contact Sync with Nano
Just wondering if apple is working on a service pack for itunes 5.0 that will actually allow itunes to properly sync up with outlook calendar and contacts without getting that -50 error (or -20). forgot error code !!!
As others have said in your other posts, no one here knows or can say what Apple is working on.
If you haven't seen this KB article:
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting iPod contact and calendar syncing
perhaps it will help. -
I now have 2 IPOD touches , 1 8 GB,1 32G plus an IPAD 2 that I've been having syncing issues with.
my Dell D830 Latitude w/windows XP. I use outlook calendar and contacts, and the syncing is not
completely syncing the outlook information. Help?Yes. Just sync them to the same iTunes library. iTunes will keep track of each so you can put what you want on each. I do this with a 3G and iPad2. Note that each device will have it's own backup.

Need to restore iphone 5 but itunes doesn't recognise it
Hi
I tried to update my iphone 5 to the latest iOS7 using iTunes but I got error message 4005. My phone is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen and I understand that I need to restore it to factory settings and can do this using iTunes. But when I plug my iphone into my pc (HP notebook, windows 7) iTunes doesn't recognise it. Apparently it should recognise that my phone is in recovery mode and ask if I want to restore it. This does not happen. I have tried the suggestions of many people with a similar problem in the support community but none of the solutions has worked for me and I have followed the resolution steps on the Apple support pages but have had no luck there either. I can see my iphone is in recovery mode in device manager on the pc, iTunes is up to date, I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes according to Apple instructions, I have re-started the apple mobile device service, I am using USB 2.0 port not USB 3.0 and directly to the computer not via a hub.
If anyone can provide any help and useful suggestions on this I would really appreciate it! Thanks!Hey bron_cross,
Wow, Superb troubleshooting so far! Usually for the symptoms you have described, I recommend the sub-step titled “If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode” located in Step 5 of this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
However, it seems like you have exhausted all of the suggestions in that step. Did you happen to move on to Step 6: Check for third-party software conflicts? If not, here is the excerpt:
Certain phone and cellular device connectivity software from vendors such as Samsung, Nokia, Bora, Novatel, Sony, Android, LG, Sierra, Huawei, Pantech, or Motorola may cause your device not to be recognized. If you have such software on your computer:
1. Uninstall the phone or cellular connectivity software temporarily, and test. Contact the manufacturer of this software for assistance in doing this. If you use the third-party phone or cellular device for your Internet connection, try connecting to an alternate network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
2. Remove iTunes and all related Apple software by following this article (for Windows XP), or this article (for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8).
3. After reinstalling iTunes, test the device.
4. If you still need your third-party phone or cellular connectivity software that was removed, reinstall this software and test your device to ensure it still functions with iTunes. Contact the vendor of your phone connectivity software if the issue returns.
Also, third-party security software may conflict with iOS devices connecting to iTunes. Follow this article to troubleshoot issues that may be caused by your security software. After resolving any issues you may have with your security software, you may need to try the steps in this article again.
Thanks,

Hello, Does anyone know how I can sync my BBZ10 with my computers Outlook Calendar and Contacts? It was working but since my computer returned from being repaired it doesn't sync and gives me the following message
"Device Pin not set in TransConfig.xml.for translator RimBB"I did resolve it, it was so long ago but here's what I suggest:
-First remove the software on your computer by going to the add/remove programs if you're using a PC. If you're using Mac, I'm not sure where you go.
-Then go to BB website and download the correct program for you phone
-Check both your phone and computer have all their updates
With the newest updates I have no trouble syncing my calendar/contacts from my PC to my BB and vice versa. It was just initially when the BB was so new they hadn't updated the programs. Over time the fixed the glitch, this is why I recommend you remove the program you have and start over, it will probably fix itself. -
My iPod dispalys this message:
"Connect to a computer. Use iTunes to restore." When I connect to a computer, iTunes doesn't recognise it. The iPod 5th Gen does not work at all. How do I fix my iPod without losing any data?
I have seen the Apple webpage suggesting the "five R's" (including restore). Before doing anything, I want to be sure that restoring or any other action is not going to delete or risk my data.
I would be very grateful if anyone can suggest a fix for this problem, in a way that will not risk my data.
Thanks in advance!Did you try a hard reset with the iPod still connected to your PC? Have you tried multiple USB ports, preferably high powered USB 2.0 ports?
To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Have you also worked through each and every single troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?

Itunes doesn't recognise my old Ipod Touch - I have attached it to the computer but nothing happens. How can I update it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Apple tv update failed. iTunes doesn't recognise the TV
Well Apple has ruined my night. The update failed and I've tried to restore it via iTunes but even when it is plugged in, iTunes doesn't recognise it. Anyone have any answers on how to restore this?
Thanks very much. I followed everything you said, made sure I didn't plug the power in until I'd connected the USB cable, plugged the power in, the Mac made the USB connected sound and then I opened iTunes. It is still not there. I've got a feeling this will be a long trip to the Apple Store
