ITunes doesn't recognize IPod Nano 7th Generation
ITunes doesn't recognize my IPod Nano 7th Generation. I get a message saying "An IPod has been detected but could not be identified properly". My Windows 7 computer shows the IPod Nano as a removable drive until I launch ITunes at which point it disappears from the list of removable drives. I even disabled my security software (Norton 360 but not Spybot S & D) and it didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions..............Thanks

How do I transfer iTunes playlists to my iPod nano 7th generation
I just received a new iPod nano 7th generation and want to transfer my playlists in iTunes to the nano. I have been unable to find instructions for this in the manual or online. Can you help???
Select it in the iTunes sidebar, click on its name, and type a new name. If you're using iTunes 11, choose to show the sidebar from the View menu.

Computer doesn't recoginize iPod nano 7th Generation and it will not power on
My iPod Nano 7th Generation was working I plug it inot the computer and computer would not recoginize it and now it will not power up.
Try:
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ITunes won't recognize iPod nano 7th gen. after recent update
I just downloaded the latest update for Itunes (11.1.2) and all of a sudden iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod nano anymore.
It's a brand new one, 7th generation, only bought last week, and before the update all was functioning well. Windows does recognize the iPod so I don't know what the problem is.
Things I did to solve the problem: delete iTunes from and reinstall it again to my laptop and restart the computer a couple of times.
Anyone have an idea what to do or what the problem is?My IPod Nano will charge when connected to my computer but it won't come up on My Computer or iTunes. So I can't update the songs. I've already tried reseting the iPod. Does anybody know what I can do to fix it.

ITunes doesn't recognize IPOD Nano (2nd Gen), but Windows XP does
I'm a longtime happy owner of an IPOD Mini and bought a second Gen IPOD Nano a few months ago that works great. I have two identical P4 Sony Vaios that I back up/clone from one to the other every so often to keep them as identical as possible. It's been some months though since I've backed up/cloned my primary laptop to the secondary, and the 2nd Gen Nano isn't being recognized by ITunes on my primary laptop, only my secondary laptop. However Windows recognizes the Nano just fine on the primary laptop on all 3 USB 2.0 ports (I haven't tried my Mini recently), and I can browse the file system of the Nano, but ITunes just doesn't see it.
As I mentioned, my secondary laptop works just fine with the Nano, both Windows XP AND ITunes recognizes it and can update it, but I don't want to have to use that computer JUST for updating my IPOD, and pretty soon I need to back up my primary laptop to my secondary. I've actually only been holding off on that because I can't get my Nano to be recgonized by ITunes with my primary laptop and don't want to screw them both up. Cloning my secondary laptop to become my primary isn't an option, the file system is many months outdated, I need to get the Nano working with ITunes on my primary laptop.
This is definitely a software/driver/service issue, I can take the hard drive out of my secondary laptop, put it in my primary, and ITunes will recognize the Nano just fine. I can take the hard drive out of my primary laptop, put it in my secondary, and ITunes can't see the Ipod. I've upgraded ITunes twice on the primary laptop in the last few months with no improvement, so that hasn't helped.
I really don't know what else to do at this point, I was under the impression that any drivers needed are installed by ITunes, and as long as Windows recognizes the device (which it does) everything should be fine and ITunes should recognize it. I've checked my services and there is only one IPOD related service that I've found (it's actually called "Ipod Service") and I've confirmed that service is running and starts automatically. I presume that service is needed and isn't a legacy from my IPOD Mini and an old version of ITunes.
If, after digesting the above information, anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. This has gotten to be somewhat annoying.
Thanks
P4 Windows XP ProNevermind. I uninstalled ITunes completely as well as the IPOD updater program (I think that's what it was basically called) that was installed on my system. I then rebooted, tested the Nano to make sure Windows recognized it, then tested it (successfully) with Winamp and the Winamp IPOD plugin. It was already working properly with Winamp and the IPOD plugin even when ITunes wasn't recognizing it so there was no change there. Once everything checked out I reinstalled the current version of ITunes and it FINALLY recognized the IPOD. It said there was a new software version available for the Nano so I went ahead and allowed it to download and install the update to 1.1. The update went smoothly and once the Nano restarted ITunes again recognized it. No clue what the problem was that created this error condition initially, but perhaps someone else will benefit from this information. I would have thought that reinstalling ITunes at least 3 times, including 2 version upgrades, would have resolved the problem, but it took removing ITunes and the IPOD software completely to resolve it.

My Windows 8.1 computer doesn't recognize my iPod nano 7th generation. Why?
My Windows 8.1 computer doesn't recognize my iPod nano 7th generation. Why?
When I connect my iPod to my computer, nothing happens. I've read the tips in the section "support" and I noticed that maybe Windows 8 is not one of the operating systems that are compatible with an iPod nano 7th generation. If I'm right, what can I do if my only device is a Windows 8?Hi, Grafiti.
Thank you for the question. Below, I have attached a couple troubleshooting articles that will help resolve the device not being recognized by iTunes.

Please Help, My Ipod nano 7th generation was syncing. When I disconnected from my computer, I no longer had any music on it. When I plugged it back in Itunes prompted me to restore my Ipod. I went ahead and restored it, but it kept asking me to restore. When I unplugged my ipod, I got a white screen saying Use Itunes to Restore. Problem is Itunes no longer picks up my device. I've tried plugging it into different USB ports, I've tried to update Itunes to the newest version, and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. I've tried to reset the ipod, but it still goes back to the white screen saying "Use Itunes to Restore". I've been trying everything. Please Help.
ThanksNo. You need iTunes on a computer to restore it. If you don't have iTunes you can download it from here:

If you don't have a computer, can you can try to borrow one with iTunes installed. -
Ipod Nano 7th generation not recognized by computer or iTunes
Neither my computer nor ITunes recognizes my Ipod nano 7th generation. It was working fine until I ran an intensive AVG PC tuneup on the laptop. Device manager recognizes the Ipod and says it is working correctly. I have done all suggested troubleshooting and nothing has yet worked. Additional suggestions or info I should provide?

How do you dowload songs from iPod nano 7th generation to iTunes on another computer?
I have iTunes on two computers. I bought a movie on one computer, but through a series of events had to erase my iPod on that computer and sync it to a different computer. Now, it will not sync the movie unless it is on the computer I bought the movie from. Because I erased my iPod on the computer I bought the movie, I have to download my iPod to the computer I bought the movie on in order to sync the movie to my iPod. How do you download everything on the Ipod nano 7th generation to iTunes on another computer?

My iPod Nano 7th generation is not detected in Itunes
Hey there,
I have a iPod Nano 7th generation and I'm working with a Windows 7 64-bit version.
So when I got my iPod, I installed iTunes and everything went very well..
but today I tried to sync my iPod and it is not even detected from my iTunes or my computer.
I had the error -42110, but I found the solution on here, but it didn't work either.
I went through a lot of questions on here, but I couldn't find any solution for my problem
Has anyone got any idea?well actually I did connect my iPod 3 days later or so to my charger, because a friend of mine asked me if I'm sure that the cable is not broken. So I connected it and it charged, when I thought "Well let's try on the computer again". I plugged it in and it was detected again.. so uhm I don't really know why it did not worked the last times.
So maybe try to restart your computer and turn off an on again the device and try it later on again.. maybe it will work then:)
I'm sorry I can't help more!
